I'm job hunting... everytime my cell phone rings and I see a number with area code on it I get excited... decided to query the internet as to who is calling me... 877-671-1851... saw all these wonderfully positive postings... alas no job query... just more cell phone garbage... guess my efforts with the no call list are to no avail.. think this is bad... I was on Sprint's Military Plan... we were overseas for three years... supposed to keep my account in limbo until we moved back to the States... there are not supposed to be charges, but was taxed via New York State... kept having to call Sprint to have numerous charges and bills reversed... Sprint just doesn't get it...
Will leave Sprint when contract runs out... do you hear that Mr. Sprint CEO ?

Good customer service.
What I do is, add it as a contact and in the name I put "TELEMARKETER Ignore"
Their suggestion is to get a Airave antenna.
$100 for that and $5 a month for that service. Not to mention it runs off of DSL service.

Yep. Telemarketing, to the customers who happen to be on the "do not call" list. I got mine tonight. I didn't answer the phone, I just waited until it quit ringing, then googled the number, and here we are.
I now will be looking on my next phone bill to see if they charge me for an incoming call from (877)671-1851.
Sprint- you are about to lose a customer. What part of "do not call" do you not understand?
P.S.- I NEVER buy over the phone, and I NEVER would buy from any company that is in the business of outsourcing goof american jobs to small companies and overseas companies that pay their employees peanuts.

This is a SCAM!
Do not give them your personal information.
Sprint will only contact you via email or text. I told this to the "telemarketer" and she hung up on me!
I would recommend you not even confirm your name, tell them they have the wrong number.

I called Sprint/nextel as soon as I called this number (877) 671-1851 from a land line. It is NOT SPrint or Nextel. They looked up that number and it is NOT one of thier lines. They do NOT call fo promotions unless you are on thier calling list. I have had nextel for 5 years and have NEVER once gotten a call like this. Do not answer it.

I'd be very wary of these calls. I've been called a couple times and this is NOT sprint calling. This is definitely one of those scams we always seem to hear about.

Same problem here. Funny thing is, we all share sprint. That can't be by chance. So either they give away our info openly, or it's them!!!!
Thank you, come again.....

I've been getting them on my sprint phone every day too. I've never picked up. I don't plan too either. I figure if something is important, they'll leave a message.

I am another Sprint customer receiving unwanted phone calls on my cell phone from 877-671-1851.
I am also on the do not call list.
So Sprint, what's your explanation for this?

The do not call list doesnt apply to companies you do business with.....
str8 from the FTC
If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?
No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.

It is SPRINT (or a duely authorized representative)! If you call the number back, they caller ID your phone and put you into an automated sales pitch allowing you to select additional services by pushing buttons. The [***]! I am still trying to collect on a promised $200 rebate from almost two years ago. I would rather go to tin cans and string before signing a new contract with this company.

I have received this call everyday since I got my new replacement phone, usually only twice a day, in the morning, and afternoon. I am glad I googled the number, which is normally what i do when getting calls from a number that doesn;t ever have anyone or anything on the line. I say hello, when I answer, but there is never a response, automated or otherwise, just dead air. Thansk for the help, i'll just ignore it from now on. But it is pesky, sprint get on it!

These calls do come from Sprint. Call customer service and update your preferences to stop the calls. They do acknowledge the solicitation attempt(s)
I have run into this before (with other companies) where 3rd parties are contracted to solicit upgrades. The real headache with these 'people' is that many, it seems, simply call to get paid for the attempt with no intention of an actual solicitation pitch.

Thank you to all of you who identified the number as Sprint.
I like this complaintwire.org. Is it part of Sprint?

This is Sprint calling my cell phone. Because I use Sprint as a customer I can not apply them to the do not call list........but still I am not going to answer and use my minutes to talk to them. They are still trying to sell more.

I too have received these calls from 877-671-1851. I answered the first one because I have a client that has a 671 exchange. I was suspicious when they said they were from Sprint because they didn't seem to know that much about my account and were very insistent that I add some services that I don't need. A call came in again last night (Friday night) after 8:00 pm, this time when I tried to get rid of them - they wanted to schedule a call back time. I dread even calling Sprint to try to get through the maze they call customer service to ask them to stop! I hope they read this. This is not a good way to garner customer loyalty.

Personally, if I don't recognize the number, or it comes up as "unavailable", "blocked", or "Private", I let it go to voicemail. If they leave a message (which of course they rarely ever do) I can choose to respond or not. Basically, I see the phone as being for my convenience. Unfortunately these days you need to screen your cell like a land line.
