I'm job hunting... everytime my cell phone rings and I see a number with area code on it I get excited... decided to query the internet as to who is calling me... 877-671-1851... saw all these wonderfully positive postings... alas no job query... just more cell phone garbage... guess my efforts with the no call list are to no avail.. think this is bad... I was on Sprint's Military Plan... we were overseas for three years... supposed to keep my account in limbo until we moved back to the States... there are not supposed to be charges, but was taxed via New York State... kept having to call Sprint to have numerous charges and bills reversed... Sprint just doesn't get it...
Will leave Sprint when contract runs out... do you hear that Mr. Sprint CEO ?

For your information...as soon as you call them back they know you're an active phone #.

I'm not calling Jack S#!T back.

    This is SPRINT
This is sprint. It is not a scam and they are bothering paying customers.

I went through the whole thing with the chick that called... Indian company offering Sprint services, most definitely affiliated with Sprint in some capacity.

Between this and the $5/month charge they tried to jack me with I'm done with these sorry f*cks. 6+ year customer with about 45 days left on my latest contract and then it's on to some other crappy phone company... They're going to have to try really hard to be worse than Sprint though.

    just don't answer
Really??... do you think it will be any better with Verison, AT&T or whoever. Just block the call, (switch your sprint phone to google voice, it's easy and you can block any number and they'll get a no longer in service message). Just be smart about it, of people wouldn't buy, they wouldn't telemarket.

"if people wouldn't buy they wouldn't telemarket" is no excuse for a corporation's deliberate acts of disrespect toward their customers.

Why would a company check no-call lists for non-customers, but they use a loophole to telemarket to their own customers who don't want to be called?

Excusing this sort of thing encourages it and as long as people continue to dismiss it and accept that all of the companies are horrible we are all deserving of what we get.

Vote with your wallet. If you find a company that doesn't care about you, stop paying them and try someone else. Keep doing that until you find a company who values it's customers. Anything less is lazy.

I'm also with Sprint and got this call, but didn't answer.  Can someone tell me if the National Do Not Call Registry actually works for cell phones too?  And how to access it, thanks

Regardless of whether it would work for cell phones or not, it wouldn't work for Sprint if you have a phone with them because if you're a customer they can call you whether you're on the list or not.

They're using your agreement to be their customer as a loophole in the Do Not Call law.

    Bothered too
I received 3 calls from this number last night. The first time I answered the man asked for me by name. I asked who it was, the man mumbled something, but I couldn't understand him. He said he'd try later. We checked this number on google and saw a number of postings. So I didn't answer the phone even though he did call twice.

Excellent Idea of saving them as a contact under Telemarketer - Ignore.
    I have done the same.

I too got a call from Sprint recently and it sounded like someone from India who asked how much did I pay for my cellphone service each month, cause they wanted to save me money. So I said, I don't know, you tell me, you're the one with the computer. They said,"ah, we will have to look that up and call you back".....SERIOUSLY???

It's not a scam. It's harassment by the company you've made the mistake of giving your money to... They're affiliated with Sprint.

So, would you be OK outsourcing the bad American jobs?

IF this is Sprint calling and you are a Sprint customer, being on the "Do Not Call" list doesn't stop them from contacting you because you are already their customer. I searched the actual Sprint site (sprint.com) and this doesn't appear on their list of contact numbers. But I guess it could be a third party they hired to do sales call for them. I've never talked to these people, just see the number show up maybe once or twice a month and ignore it. I've seen a lot on other sites suggesting that it might be a scam, not really Sprint, but someone trying to get your personal info. Maybe it might be a good idea to try calling Sprint customer service directly and verify the number. Customers of any company get sales calls like these I'm sure. Sprint's not the only one. DirecTV calls me trying to get me to upgrade my TV package all the time. Other cell and landline phone companies, cable and internet companies, magazine subscriptions, pretty much anything in which someone is part of some sort of membership for a service will get sales calls trying to get you to upgrade and add on.

This is a scam just got off the phone with sprint care and they do not have a record of this number being used by them for telemarketing purposes. In order to stop contact sprint care and they can block this number from being able to contact you just dial 611 from your phone.

To have your number removed from all telemarketing call 888/382/1222. Once you complete the call it will take 30 days to have your number removed. If they call you on the 31st day from doing this or after call back to the 888/382/1222 do not call registry and file a complaint. So over this [***] as I am also on the job hunt.
