Received a call from a wireless caller 254-217-8107 (LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC – TX) which is local to where we reside. A woman left a message claiming that my husband needed to call and give this company an updated address to receive a court summons.  The woman on the phone left the following number (888-247-2983) along with a claim number. At the end of the message the individual stated very rudely that my husband had been notified. Upon calling the phone number provided and got a rep by the name Diego Chris (extension 305) and said he was calling from Universal. He stated that my husband needed to appear in court on fraudulent charges and would not give any other information that I requested concerning the matter. The very next day we received a call from family stating that they also receive a phone call looking for my husband. The phone call came from the following number 409-292-0183 (LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC – TX) which is local to where our family resides.  When my family ask who was calling for my husband the individual on the other end simply ended the call. The number that show up on the caller ID are local number, but when trying to dial the number back you receive the following messages: “Busy Signal” and “Due to network issues the call cannot go through and to try the call later.” When my husband called the toll free number given; he stated that a man answered the phone and then hung up on him. Several attempts later all we got when calling the number was a Universal recording to either dial an extension or “0” for the operator to assist you. When dialing the extension and/ or “0” all you hear is “The person you are trying to reach is currently on the phone. Please leave a message at the tone or press the pound sign for further options.”

I got a call from 828-393-8761 claiming to be southern California Edison sending out a technician to cut off power for non-payment in the next 30minutes. They left a number to call to stop the cut off.  888-787-3320 ext. 1.  The first number is registered to Level 3 communications out of north Carolina, second number Which is unregistered. We have LADWP. So clearly level 3 communications is a scam company.

Jake, These scammers are only using Level 3 Communications name. Level 3 was a worldwide fiber optic wholesale provider, like my firm installed fiber around the world. Most of their assets purchased by Century Link. The company I worked for Corporate Offices were neighbors & competitors in Broomfield CO. They were a legitimate multi million $ conglomerate.

When these numbers called, they left a voice mail saying "This is your final courtesy call and your coverage would be voided, this will make you financially responsible for all service repairs. Press 1 now if you wish to extend your cars warranty." After doing some digging, I learned that these numbers aren't registered to anyone. As a matter of fact, The phone number 541-320-9407 is located in or around Hood River, OR 97031. This landline number is registered with an unknown carrier.

I just received a call from 7033488295, I didn't answer the call because I didn't recognize the number. I did however research it and well the findings our obvious. Do not answer the call. they don't leave a message as to what they want or who they are and quiet frankly if you need to speak to me that bad then you'll leave a damn message or I will simply waist your time by not answering and I will feel better by filling a complaint!

Just received a call from 520-366-8037, but no one responded when I said Hello, Did a reverse lookup and the information indicated that it was a land line, located in Bisbee, AZ and the company name was Level 3 Communications LLC.  Must be a scam of some sort.

I have received calls from 949-274-3992 registered to Level 3 Comm. from Newport Beach, Ca. They have tried home line, cell phones and even text messages. To dumb to realize I own them all. Have tried to text solicit business to arrange service and promised to pay triple usual fees and only asked that I return a small portion of the amount If I would accept their credit card number via text. The person said they cannot speak due to doctors orders and are about to have surgery as a ploy to rush my cooperation. I said "Nice try buddy" and the texts stopped. Be aware!

Level 3 Communications is only a provider, like Verizon or Sprint.  They are not the ones doing the calling.

Many of the "reverse lookup" sites provide inaccurate or even fake information.

I just checked my voicemail and there were three messages left informing me that there was a warrant for my arrest in my identity and to call this number 660 240 3180 before the warrants reaches my state. After reading some of the comments now I am sure that it is a scam and I'm going to call them back and have a little fun with them.
