Received a call from a wireless caller 254-217-8107 (LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC – TX) which is local to where we reside. A woman left a message claiming that my husband needed to call and give this company an updated address to receive a court summons.  The woman on the phone left the following number (888-247-2983) along with a claim number. At the end of the message the individual stated very rudely that my husband had been notified. Upon calling the phone number provided and got a rep by the name Diego Chris (extension 305) and said he was calling from Universal. He stated that my husband needed to appear in court on fraudulent charges and would not give any other information that I requested concerning the matter. The very next day we received a call from family stating that they also receive a phone call looking for my husband. The phone call came from the following number 409-292-0183 (LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC – TX) which is local to where our family resides.  When my family ask who was calling for my husband the individual on the other end simply ended the call. The number that show up on the caller ID are local number, but when trying to dial the number back you receive the following messages: “Busy Signal” and “Due to network issues the call cannot go through and to try the call later.” When my husband called the toll free number given; he stated that a man answered the phone and then hung up on him. Several attempts later all we got when calling the number was a Universal recording to either dial an extension or “0” for the operator to assist you. When dialing the extension and/ or “0” all you hear is “The person you are trying to reach is currently on the phone. Please leave a message at the tone or press the pound sign for further options.”

I have been getting the same thing. Repeated phone calls from this number.  Stating I have a court appearance, I owe money, and I need to contact them or a warrant will go out for my arrest. I have tried to call the number back and get a dead line.  I have blocked this # and they still get thru. This is more than annoying.

I received the exact same threatening messages from the New York number a few years ago. In California I don't think ciollection agencies are allowed to threaten our family members with lies about being subpoenas and all that. I never had anything they said happen. Look up the laws in your state about collection agencies and go to the National Do Not
Registry too. You can file complaints on their site. Keep notes too for easy reference.

Received a call from 315-449-4181 tracked down the number to a Level 3 Communications.. The woman that called talked so fast and gave me another number to call.. If I didn't call that number they were going to go to the district attorneys office and pursue some kind of charges,, I'm smart enough to know that you can't be proesscuted for not paying your bills.. Being 73 years old with major health issues I'M sure not out there breaking the law. This Level 3 Communications is all about scamming people,,

This is the phone no “John” called me from . Seems to be from Beverley Hills, California . Same experience . When asked what company he represented so I’d make sure it was no scam  he got very rude. He pretended he found my resume online and he’d help me find a job. At some point suggested me to be the personal assistant of this very rich executive and asked me if I’d be willing to do anything for him . Also if agree with the expression money talks. When asked him to go into details he basically told me that if the masseuse the executive orders on a stressful day doesn’t show up I’d have to do that. Is this even legal ? Where can I report this ?

I have been getting calls from a 260-236-0746 and 0840 #'s for the past 3 days, they are relentless!! It seems that if you don't answer the phone or call back, they will conclude you would rather be taken to court or something. I answered the call 1 time and they want your private info or they won't tell you anything, so I said, OH Well! So for knowing any thing I don't. Just be wary of the scammers!! I do think this is a scam job.

When I searched the number 360-831-4588, it came up as Level 3 Communications from Vancouver, WA.  So, obviously, they are calling from every possible area code to try and scam people.  I saw it under missed calls and was just curious if it was a scammer, because I'm just curious how many scammers call me in a week.  I seem to get an unknown phone number almost daily.

I received a voice message from (907) 268-5521. Since I do not know who this is, I did not answer the initial call. The message stated that I was connected to a case officer. Then stated that if is did not contact them immediately, possible legal consequences might be leveled against me. No identifying info was provided. The number is a Level 3 number and most likely is used for VOIP. Do NOT call back, this is a scam.

I've gotten six hangup calls from the same Massachusetts number in ten days.  Number traced back to having Level 3 Communications LLC - MA as the carrier.  Level 3 is now apparently owned by Century Link.  I'm SERIOUSLY considering calling the number back in the middle of the night and playing them obnoxious music ("The Cockroach That Ate Cincinnati" is probably top of the list right about now).  And THEN filing a complaint with the FCC and FTC about Level 3 and their parent company Century Link.  The caller ID variably comes up as "Potential Spam", just the number with no punctuation or prefix, or (in a couple of cases) NO caller ID at all.  And I'm sufficiently PO'd at this point that I might start leaving SIMILAR messages on Century LInk's contact number.  Oh, and I'd use my cellphone so I can block the number(s) in question from calling back.  Because two can play that game....

Level 3 Communications LLC is a legitimate company.  It provides internet, security services, VoIP, and various business solutions to businesses of all sizes.  Providing services to 46 of the 50 United States.  They are the 3rd largest fiber optic provider in the United States.  They also provide to Europe, South America, and some areas within Asia.  I know...I used to work for them as a Tier 2 Transport Technician, but they sold out to CenturyLink, Inc. in 2017 and CenturyLink, Inc. then changed it's name to Lumen Technologies, Inc.  in Oct. 2020.  Lumen is one of the World's largest network providers and one of the top 200 businesses on Forbe's.  They are the "main" provider.  They provide to companies like AT&T, Verizon, Sprint (now T-Mobile), Comcast, etc.  They control 98.8% of the World's communications.

If you get any contact from anyone relaying they are from Level 3 Communications LLC, IT IS A SCAM!  Why?  Level 3 sold out to CenturyLink, Inc. in 2017 and does not exist anymore.  And is now Lumen Technologies, Inc.

NOTE:  Typing this to you while sitting at my work desk with Lumen.

    Hope this helps!
