CPS financed my car 2 years ago.  One month, I called because I was going to be late with my payment.  They offered a one-time-only deal of extending that payment for 2 weeks.  I accepted.  What they did not tell me was that this was a permanent change to my payment due date.  Since then, I am now ALWAYS 2 weeks late with my payment with monthly late fees piling up that I refuse to pay.  I currently owe almost $2,000 in late fees because of this; also, because of this continual lateness, they have harrassed me at work calling continuously while I am in class teaching.  One day I had to argue with the csr because she told me to clean out my car, she was sending a repo team to my school to pick up my car.  I asked her if I could call her back in 20 minutes after my students left, she said to just clean out my car.  I chewed her out and hung up.  She called 5 minutes later claiming that it was not her who had previously called me and asking if I would PLEASE return her call in 20 minutes.  They have also harrassed my elderly and ill parents, my neighbors, my friends, and my coworkers.

    Wow!!!! I thought I was the only one that had a run in with these nutz! They had the nerve to call my job and tell a coworker that they knew she was me and began to degrade her on the phone. I had made my payment online and they hadn't even checked because it goes thru Western Union or somethin...I was livid to say the least as I almost got fired. I called the supervisor and she told me they would erase my work number from the call list....Huh..yeah right ..They still call and harass me at work. Yeah I think it's time for a class action! Let's do it people...How do u start one?

    What in the world!!! They call like you owe them personally and you know the person on the other end struggling themselves. I have had my truck for three yrs now and had to make repairs, which caused me to fall short. They are relentless, rude and intolerable. I agree we need to band together against these loan sharks!! What's the next step?

    Yes I used to work there and I was about the only nice one there  they fired me because I wasnt mean enough  go figure

      I have a question, since you used to work for CPS , how many days late do you have to be on your payment I'm order for them to come pick up you vehicle?

    I am with all of you !!!! I am glad to hear that i thought i was all alone !!! lets do this !!!!! LAWSUIT is what they deserve .....They just stole 300 dollars from me ......

    I live in Ohio and I have been dealing with this company forever. So today I get a call from Tanisha Edwards, make that two calls within 2 minutes both with voicemails stating the same thing I need to call by 2pm today this is my last day to call, blah blah blah. First off I wat to say it is illegal for any company to call and leave more than one message a day. As a matter of fact they are not supposed to call you again that day once they leave the message. I was told this by a collector that works for the goverment collecting student loans so they should know their stuff. I will also state I never return their calls because I have learned it absolutley pointless. They will never work with you no matter what the cirmustances are. So the first person I talk to I explain to her I can make the payment on next Friday. Well we can not accept that was the answer I got. I was then transferred to Ms. Williams. She immediatly got an attitude with me. I started of by telling her it was unnessary to call me 2 times in 2 minutes and leave messages and also told her that this was illegal. She says well I have two numbers for you. I said no the calls and messages were left on the same number. then she says well that dosen't matter. She goes on to state so you have been receiving my calls why have you not communicated with the company who finances your car. I then tell her because everytime I call no one will work with me I am generally spoken to like I am the scum of the earth and have even been asked to pawn things and questions like where is the money we refunded you(they once took two back to back payments out). She then goes on to say well I have excellent customer service and I treat people the way I want to be treated so if you give me attitude I will give you attitude. So I tell her I can not make a payment untill next friday. She says well you were paid 2 times in January so why have you not paid. I then explained that one check pretty much goes to rent and then on my last  check I had an unexpected car repair that took my car payment. Well she says that's not my problem, it's your problem to figure out how to make the payment, you are driving our car for free we don't care about your other bills it is up to you to figure out how you are going to pay us you are two months behind. Everytime I tried to say something she cut me off (She has excellent customer service remember) Then I tell her well if you can't wait one week you will have to come get the car. She says how much millege is on it I was like what does that matter? She gave me a big sigh and was like just tell me. I was like I am not in the car so I do not know. Well what condition is it in? I responded good. Where is the vehicle parked? I told her you have my address you figure it out. She then says okay this conversation is over have a good day. So I ask to speak to her supervisor. I then get Cherise (which is probably not a supervisor) I ask her so when are you picking the car up. She says well as of right now it is not out for repossesion, when can you pay? So I have to go through all of this for the third time now with the third person. So I tell her I am making a payment next friday for my December payment. My income tax return will be in right after that and I will make January's payment and then in two more weeks I will pay Feb which would make me current. She then says well your car is three months behind so we can not make any arrangements with you. I was like I just told you I am willing to give you almost 900 dollars next month to cover the past due months and the current month. She says well you can not negoiate the terms you are driving our car for free. I can not tell you when this will go for repossesion but I advise you to pay as soon as possible. Can you borrow the money? I say no. Have you tried to borrow the money? I say yes. Can you take out a payday loan? I say no I am not going that route I am not going to take out a payday loan for 300 so I can owe that place 400. Okay well then all I can do is note your account and this conversation is over. Have a good day.. Are you kidding me? I am so sick of this company! I just don't know what to do, you try to talk to them and they are unreasonable you don't talk to them and they get all upset about that. WTF any advise would be great!!

      I have been dealing with these jackals for a few years now. If you are even one day late they are blowing up your phone,your relatives phones,your work phones,ect.Tell me how can they do this legally?

    ok so yesssss..... all of these complaints i'm familar with. CPS has harrassed me day and night you are all right they harrass family memebers, friends, enemies and i have no doubt if our pets could talk they would harrass them too. I am currently about 2 months behind and i called they said they need to get one full payment before monday and i explained to them by thursday i could accomodate them with that payment and they said no. the womans name was mrs alexander she claims to be a supervisor shortly after speaking to her another lady by the name of mrs white kept blowing my phone up. I'm sick of it I'm tired of them spreading my information to other people like its the newspaper its not fair and i doubt its legal.I am not going to worry about it, i will try my best to get the payments in because arguing with them is pointless and stressful I dont have time worring about something I can not take care of until a later date. i the want the car they will probably have problems selling it because it has over 120,000 miles on it. I dont even answer phone calls anymore they come from everywhere! too hard to keep up with all of that crap.

    I am not behind on my payments, matter a fact my credit report shows no late payments. I had a few problems about a year ago when I was diagnosed with spinal disease and was waiting on my disability income. I purchased a 2005 For Taurus back in 2005, my payments are 463.00 per month, as of January 2011, I still owe them $5000.00. My payments are made before the 15th of each month. However, this morning at 8:19 A.M. I received a message from CPS to call them regarding an URGENT matter and they needed a call immediately. When I called the woman was very rude, almost angry. She proceeded to tell me they called me by mistake in a (superior tone of voice). I asked her how could that happen-she then screamed at me "I TOLD YOU IT WAS A MISTAKE". A friend of mine was in the room with me, and could hear her scream at me...my ear drums where throbbing. I don't know how a company like this is aloud to continue doing business in this country. They treat all their customers the same; whether your behind in payments or not. It is beside me how the law allows this to continue..word of mouth is a powerful tool, and I will use every avenue available to me to expose this company for who they are. When you have no customers, you have no business. I think they hire people in their collection department that can't get hired anywhere else. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in 45 years and will never deal with them again.

    I understand just how everyone feels. My husband and I have been dealing with this disreputable company for a little over 5 years. We just started having trouble making payments the past couple of years since my husband has had trouble maintaining steady employment...(yay economy!!!)...they called my husband this morning and he explained we paid what we could yesterday and his company went out of business and we have had the van 5 years and anytime we get behind we have gotten caught up, we just need a little time to get a new job and get caught back up. The gentleman he spoke with asked him what he was going to do about the $133 we still owed for this month. My husband told him that he would pay as soon as he could. They then told him to borrow the money and when he told them he couldn't they began yelling at him. So, my usually calm husband totally lost it. We owe more than the stupid thing is worth, and any other debtor is understanding of difficult circumstances. I absolutely hate these people. We were told to remove our personal belongings from the car because they were going to come get it after my husband told them to just come get it. It is not worth the stress we have been put under to deal with these people. I know they have a job to do, but they treat you like dirt.

    I got behind on payments due to a job layoff and was so annoyed by their harrassing calls I had to change my phone number!  I stopped paying and it took them almost 5 months to repo the car.  First I was served a Complaint in Replevin at my apartment complex (where conveniently the car was parked right out front!) alleging I was "hiding" the car.  The day after I was served I called the attorney and told them I was not hiding the car.  They were like then "where is it?"  Im like it's right where you served me yesterday.  Within 5 minutes of that call a towtruck came and took the car.  Now they are trying to sue me for the balance.  This is NOT a good situation to get into!  Trust me.  I've hired an attorney and will file bankruptcy if they don't settle for a reasonable amt.  The car was only worth $7000 and they are trying to get a judgment against me for $12000.   They're gonna end up getting not $.01

    OH yeah - they were calling my landlord, my neighbors, my dad.  how humiliating.  Im glad Im done with them.  The bus isn't that bad.

    I have had the same issues with CPS from the first day to go over my paper work with them.  Very rude and nasty all the time with my Supervisor, parents, and in laws.  Calling consently.  Telling me to cancel my payment and make it over the phone right then or else.  Ok the cost of $10.00 to make over the phone or on line (whatever).  Talking to you like children instead of adults and if they talked to children that way then those kids would be taken away from them for abuse.  I will never again have anything with this company and have told everyone I know that they shouldn't either.  I am also checking into legal ways to take care of this hassessment.  At this point they can have the car back and they won't get another penny from me.  I have gotten to the point I hate my car.  I have only been a few days late on one payment.  What happened to grace periods.  And to call you a liar when you tell them when you mailed the payment in.  They have no respect for anyone.  I am highly upset and will sue if I have to there is no reason anyone should be talked to like that.  And Ms Erikson is totally rude and disrespectfully.

    I thought I was the only one who experienced the harrassing calls to family, friends, and my job. In this eceonomy everyone is having a hard time with keeping up with bills! I have 1 year left on my vehicle and like most folks we are working hard to keep up. I have owned 3 cars and payed them off on early and on time. I was financed through CPS on my current vehicle and is has been a nightmare since day 1. The customer service is non-exsitant. Currently I am behind in my payment because I am going through divorce. I am pretty sure is illegal to call family, Friends and you employer and tell them your personal business. I came to work on day and found a copy of my aggreement on the fax machine with all of my persona information on it that they faxed to my job 7 times with my SSN# on the cover sheet. That is when I lost it!! I dont care what you situation is there not reason for anyone to br treat with this lack of respect and common deceny. Ms. Dixon has called me 6-8 times in 1day. Harassed my family and even tried getting a hold of my ex-wife and threaten to take her car enloe of mine. CPS needs to be reviewed and driven out of business. It makes no sense that a finance company acts this way. If there is a class action suit against them and i think there is i would love to be apart of it so that no one else ever has to deal with kind of treatment.

    No, Frankie works for CPS. They all use aliases except for managers, but they will lie for the employees. Make sure you tape record them, but don't tell them. They try to use that the permission thing for taping recording. Just do it and try to get real names. If they call you and you talked to them already, they cannot call you again in the same day. Also, if anyone calls you after 9 PM, they are in trouble. Agents are not allowed to call after 9 PM either, and it's not repo agents calling anyway, it's the collector trying to force and threaten you. Get on their website and remember to get the ext reps call from then HR can figure exact who called and threatened. Remember it's about them getting bonus.

    Also remember yes you owe them money. But don't be afraid. They don't repo for appr 60 days. And don't pay on the 30th or they get bonus if yu ===you do it is just a game.

    Any Acc consumer finance people out there which of course CPS to themin receivership in August 2009.  They always call with "This is a collection" company stuff when our payments are made monthly and on time.

    I know AG must be watching this is ridiculous.

    cps? total professionals. i had no problem with them. i was late one time... a polite man said he understood. quit crying you losers. you owe them the money. this isn't socialism, where the government pays your bills (although you pinheads want it to be that way). you all would be the first ones to complain if some one owed you money and didn't pay you.

    shut up and pay them you lazy bum. the calls will stop. you weren't complaining when they LENT you the money, were you?  stop spending your money on pot, pills, booze and porn videos.. and you might be able to make your car payment
