CPS financed my car 2 years ago.  One month, I called because I was going to be late with my payment.  They offered a one-time-only deal of extending that payment for 2 weeks.  I accepted.  What they did not tell me was that this was a permanent change to my payment due date.  Since then, I am now ALWAYS 2 weeks late with my payment with monthly late fees piling up that I refuse to pay.  I currently owe almost $2,000 in late fees because of this; also, because of this continual lateness, they have harrassed me at work calling continuously while I am in class teaching.  One day I had to argue with the csr because she told me to clean out my car, she was sending a repo team to my school to pick up my car.  I asked her if I could call her back in 20 minutes after my students left, she said to just clean out my car.  I chewed her out and hung up.  She called 5 minutes later claiming that it was not her who had previously called me and asking if I would PLEASE return her call in 20 minutes.  They have also harrassed my elderly and ill parents, my neighbors, my friends, and my coworkers.

    shut up and pay them you lazy bum. the calls will stop. you weren't complaining when they LENT you the money, were you?  stop spending your money on pot, pills, booze and porn videos.. and you might be able to make your car payment

    lucky for you I am not your bill collector... i would have repo'd your worthless van weeks ago.  it is not CPS's fault your too inept to keep steady employment. get off your lazy can and find a job. this will solve your issues.

    FIRST OF ALL THE REASON WE HAVE CPS AS A FINANCE COMPANY IS BECAUSE OUR CREDIT HISTORY IS HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE, HORRIFIC.....AND WHATEVER ELSE YOU WANNA CALL I! HAD YOU READ AND UNDERSTOOD YOUR CONTRACT YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE OF THEIR PROCEDURES AND POLICIES. THIS FINANCIAL INSTITUTION IS IN EXISTANCE FOR PEOPLE LIKE US (WITH BAD CREDIT HISTORY) TO TRY TO REPAIR AND BUILD CREDIT. ALL OF YOU PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING BECAUSE YOU CAN'T HANDLE YOUR BUSINESS AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES! WORD TO THE WISE.......PAY WHAT YOU OWE......ON TIME! POINT BLANK PERIOD! IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT. HAVE A NICE DAY.

      my credit is not horrible it was a choice between cps and some other companies so talk what u know u bum [***] [***] u should really just go and kill yourself that would make us all happy [***]

    Ok how do I find out about the class action law suit, these people need TO BE STOPPED NOW, A rep called my husband at work one day, we were only 1 week late and she proceeded to yell at him on the phone and told him if he would quit drinking beer and smoking he would be able to afford his car pymt and then hung up. HELLOOOO we do not drink and even if we did is it really any of their concern, as he was at work he could not deal with them so I called them
    LET ME TELL YOU I WAS THEIR WORSE FU**N NIGHTMARE, I TOLD THEM I WAS GOING TO COPY AND MAIL EVERY SINGLE SHRED OF EVIDENCE OF WHAT THEY DO TO US AND HOW THEY CONDUCT THEMSELVES, WELL THE PHONE WAS SILENT, AS I TOLD THEM WHO AND WHY I WHY I WAS CONTACTING PEOPLE THAT COULD DO SOMETHING TO STOP THEM,

    Hi there..
    You asked me  to write you to tell you the series of events. First of all I'm extremely disappointed to have been treated like a criminal with a company I've had a car loan through since November of 2007.
    I first spoke to Serpil last month regarding the fact that I had to make a costly repair to my vehicle, could she help me defer a car payment she said she'd be happy to assist me to fax her the documentation that proved I had to have these repairs so I did. She told me to call her back the first week or so of June which I did , She reported back to me, she didn't remember me then she recalled and said that a rep by the name of Tina in the review dept would help me further so I waited to speak to her, she was very argumentative with me told me I didn't qualify for a car deferral and that I had better make a payment soon or someone would repo my vehicle which then she said I'm going to pass you on to my Supervisor who refused to identify himself. He said if he didn't have a car payment from me for May and June by the 15th of June, he'd be sending someone out to take my car. I had no idea who this person was also after stating this, he simply hung up on me. At that point ,I called  back and talked to you. During our call Tina called and left a message on my voice mail that I had better call her back immediately or else.
    I'm so upset that I was treated like this.. Then to have been threatened by someone who led me to believe he was above Tina then hang up on me? I'm looking around to trade in my vehicle so I don't have to deal with your company anymore that was a very upsetting experience, this wasn't the first time that one of your reps treated me in a unprofessional manner. I chalked that up to maybe that person was having a bad day and left it alone. But the behavior of these individuals that day we spoke was totally uncalled for, their attitude truly shocked me. And when that gentleman hung on me I didn't know what to think nor did I know if I still would have a vehicle after June 15th. I truly thank- you taking the time to look into this for me. I didn't know where to turn after that. One thing for sure I will never speak to that rep Tina again after her behavior. Also after reading all the reviews on the website:

    CPS is a lousy finance loan company. Whether you pay late, or on time, they treat with disrespect. I caution all would be car buyers, if the dealership comes back with a CPS, do not sign it, tell them to find another company or walk away from it!

    FRUSTRATED!!
    I purchased a car from a dealership that I thought was valid in 2004; They linked me with CPS for financing, a company I've never heard of before; In 2009 I filed bankruptcy & could've added CPS but reaffirmed & kept them out because I thought I would just refinance my car or trade it in since my credit rating improved only to find out that the vehicle they financed for 14,500.00 + interest totally around 21K was only worth $1,500.00.  I've been paying them $400. a month since 2007 for a vehicle that's only worth $1,500.00.. the dealership that I brought it from won't even take it back.. The car was totalled before I purchased it and should not have even been sold to me.  I informed CPS of this issue and asked to contact the Corporate office or CEO of the company and that's as if I'm speaking GREEK!! I was told that it can't happen and it's not there issue of what the car is worth and they want their money!! The rep was extremely insensitive and rude!! You can speak to one person who's one way & get another person who speaks as if they're from MARS! I don't know much about this company other than they're extremely unprofessional, dumb & rude!! I'm going to see what kind of suit can be filed against them for predatory lending, harassment, bullying and down right rudeness!! They should not be in business!!

    Word to the wise.  Never make any large purchases from any company that's not a bank!! CPS claims they can't do anything because they're not a bank? What are they? What kind of company of this? I'm sure it's probably one of those places in a basement somewhere that you'll see in the near future on dateline!!

    Wow, it is amazing to see that so many others are struggling with CPS also.  Approximately three years ago I received a phone call from CPS offering me a deferrment on my automobile loan.  The representative explained that I could defer my payment to the end of the loan.  She further added that by doing so I could use my december car payment money to assist with Christmas shopping or anyting else that I may need.  At first I said no, but later thought that it sounded good so I called them back and took advantage of the offer.  By doing so, they changed my due date from the 15th of the month to the 1st.  At first this was not a problem but about 1 year later my husband and I separated and due to the fact that he was not paying child support at the time I had a difficult time paying all of the household expenses, child care expenses, etc.  I contacted CPS to see if I could get my due date changed and at that time I was informed that I could not receive a payment due date change because I had already requested a change for my billing date and they could only change the date once during the life of the loan.  I explained that I did not request that the due date be changed, rather they did that on their own.  Depsite my comments they continued to state that they could not help me.  As a result I continue to be charged late fees each month which equate to 10% of the monthly payment.  At this rate I too have over $2,000 in late fees due.  Ironically enough though I never show a late payment on my credit report.  And even though the company is fully aware that I only get paid on the 15th and the 30th they refuse to change the due date and also continue to call to harass me every month asking about the whereabouts of each month's payment.  This company is a real joke.  If they continue doing this to customers they are making one heck of a profit.  You would think that at times like these they strive to take care of their customers in hopes of repeat business, etc.  How unethical!!  I am very interested in joining a class action about this company!!

    Well, I too get the CSR on line telling me what they will do and what I have to do or else, although I only owe another $3000 on a $32K loan. I told them I lost my job two years ago and that I will send as much as I can when i can. I send a payment every month on time, just not the full amount. The way I deal with them now is to not pick up the phone. I have found that when you wont talk to them and they cant find your car (I moved three years ago from my original address and never updated this information with them. Gave them a PO Box to contact me by mail)they get nicer, wanting to offer free extensions. The 1st time they offered me an extension they told me i had to pay $100 for the extension, and that I have to pay over the phone with a $12 fee for taking the payment, when I explained that before I would pay $112 for an extension I'd just hide my car and sent that same $112 to them for a payment towards my loan. The CSR told me that he would call the police and report my car stolen, I told him to have at it, before you can do that you have to know what state the car is in, from that point on I no longer pick up my phone, if I have something to tell them I call after business hours and leave a message on someones voice mail (trust me, based on the letters i get, they are getting my messages) Just sent my last car payment today, cant wait to call about my title and see how that goes.

    Bottom line is the entire country is in a depression, times are hard for everyone. Im stressed out enough trying to keep food on the table, I will not let them stress me out about a car that Im paying on, may not be the payment they want, but Im paying and there is NO WAY Im going to hand over a car I already paid 29K into.

    yes they are very rude I purchased a vehicle thru them as well  it was totaled in an accident my insurance got cancelled  and they repossed the car and I am still making payments on a car I haven;t had since 2005 I have had calls from different people at the company so I dont know who is handling my account I think they are ripoff artists anyway their interest rates are way to high  and they have lousy people who work for them and just like to harrass people I think something needs to be done about these bloodsuckers who want to take you for everything you have

    Who is filing a lawsuit. Its the same issue over and over and they are doing all this illegally. Someone step up and lets get paid for the Bs we have to put up with from this company.

    i have the same problem with cps they changed my due date by putting on the first of every month.
