CPS financed my car 2 years ago.  One month, I called because I was going to be late with my payment.  They offered a one-time-only deal of extending that payment for 2 weeks.  I accepted.  What they did not tell me was that this was a permanent change to my payment due date.  Since then, I am now ALWAYS 2 weeks late with my payment with monthly late fees piling up that I refuse to pay.  I currently owe almost $2,000 in late fees because of this; also, because of this continual lateness, they have harrassed me at work calling continuously while I am in class teaching.  One day I had to argue with the csr because she told me to clean out my car, she was sending a repo team to my school to pick up my car.  I asked her if I could call her back in 20 minutes after my students left, she said to just clean out my car.  I chewed her out and hung up.  She called 5 minutes later claiming that it was not her who had previously called me and asking if I would PLEASE return her call in 20 minutes.  They have also harrassed my elderly and ill parents, my neighbors, my friends, and my coworkers.

    I feel you.  The same thing is happening to me now, and although I am offering them payments, they keep putting different people up to calling me.  I asked for an audit of my account, which they claimed to have sent, but I haven't received it yet.  They charged too much for the car to start with, making 9,000 in interest up front (the car dealer they're in kahoots with anyway)  My due date was changed also, and they tell you you're getting an extension, but you really don't.  They are predatory lenders and should be stopped.

      How did you solve your problem with them?  I fear I am having the same problems.  I see a lot of similar complaints with them, but to what end?

        Well I to had to deal with them nasty people.constantly calling and telling me they r gonna come and pick up the car which did not put fear in me at all the one thing I can say when your car is paid off becareful because they still report you to the credit people n it shows you still owe money

    Same thing here, They made an agreement and then attempted to to take the electronic payment out of my account early and now have cancelled the extention they gave me, have also made threats of prosecuting me for a bad check (electronic payments are not checks and cannot be prosecuted) but otherwise the above comments are the same as mine would be. Make sure to file complaints against the company with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission, it won't help us but will help others

    I just got off the phone with another loud, insensitive collector from CPS.  I am so throwed off that this company is allowed to continue doing business.  I just received my notice stating I was out for recovery.  According to them that is even at 45 days...lol Now granted I am behind but was calling to rectify the matter.  I asked them to go over my account and I was transferred to every lonely rep in the building that wanted a piece of me.  I was so upset about the way the call(s) were handled I then  decided to check my payment history online.  What did I find? Two unauthorized checks processed for the month of October and November.  I havent paid with a check in 1yr or more.  I always send via WUQC so that there are no problems.  I too work for a major collection firm and they are aware of that.  I have written to the Attorney General in California, Florida & Texas.  They have my concern on file.  I an have attorney and I have started to record all calls.  I am very aware of the Consumer laws as well as the Fair Debt laws.  WE all have rights and I intend exercise mine to the fullest.

    CPS is a ripe off Company.  They call you at work and at home all hours of the day and night.  They have the rudes people working for them and think that they know what the do don't stink.  We need to band together and put these vultures in their place.  And let them know that we're not going to take their s#@*& any more.

    I have all of the same kind of phone calls but today I got a phone call from a friend and my mother who werent on the "reference" list and they told them that I was two months behind and that they were coming for the car....I dont think this is legal for them to disclose this info to ANYONE...Any ideas or thoughts in the matter would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!

      If I was you trade your car in if u did not do it already they are very nasty and try to put fear in people and also when your car is paid off you end up with bad credit cause it happen to me they are full of [***] company

    CPS Ripoff
    I cannot believe this company is allowed to treat their customers like this. Back in August I asked if I could skip a payment due to financial difficulty and extend the term of the loan for a month. The girl Lauren at that time was very nice and said she could not do that, but she could breakup my payment for the next 4 months. So basically my payment was higher for the next 4 months to make up for August which was fine. So the next 4 months I paid my bill early and come to find out I was charged 5 months in late fees!!I called 3x and finally got the CS supervisor who told me I am charged a late fee every month until the 1 month of August was made up. I told her no one ever told me that when I set this up. Stephanie stated "you should have read your contract, we should not have to tell you that". She talked down to me, insulted me, kept interrupting me, and overall was no help. I asked to speak with her boss and she laughed and said no, that he would just give me the same response. I have reported them to the BBB (which of course has an F on them).Please help me and tell me who else I can go to. They have made my life miserable. Horrible company!!

    I have had my car for atleast four years now. I hate those folks rude and stupid at the same time. It seems to me it is a company made up with a bunch of thugs working for theme never have spoken to enybody who doesent talk like a regular proffesional person but more like a gurl in the beaty shop getting there hair done lol! I recnetly lost my job due to layoffs but do they try to work with you no they tell me that is my problem im like it can be yours becuse im telling you if you threaten me I will tell your butt to come get it and thene Ill fill chapter 7 and pay you nothing . Im a nurse by profesion so before soume jerk with  a silver spoon in there butt comes on hear telling me I took out a loan and should pay it back I agree I did but lossing my job was not my fault and I do not deserve to be treated like a dog nor am I going to. I am trying to pay my note but they will not work with me so Im about to trade my car in I love the car but they just get on my nervs . Not all of theme are bad I have spoken with  a girl named Nicole sevral times nice polite and understands what ur trying to do. However she has no authority so I thene have to deal with the suppervisors wich are always thuggish sounding and Im sorry if I affend enybody oh well it's the truth talk like a proffesonial instead of soumbody onthe street  Good Luck folks

    I just got off the phone with another loud,insensitive collector from CPS,this peron call me as a private phone,when I answer the phone, she stater talking to me real loud, I ask her to let me talk she never stop. she was making treat at me. I canot believe this company is allowed to treat their customer like this. I told the that I lost my Job, because they call me t work and I was not allowed to talk while I was on duty,my supervisor, Already told me about the Rules and Regulation at job having cell phone. ok this lady was no want to stop. I have the specker phone and all my corworker was listen to this lady harrassing me at work.calling me day and night,when I call the Back there is a recorder that answer. Iam sick and tied that I have to listen to this Bill Collector talking to me the way the want to.they have made my life miserable.Horrible company. they told me that want to pick my car, and they are going to garnish my check, I would like to know when all this phone call are going to end.

    I had no idea that anyone was else was experiencing the same rude behavior from CPS. I can't understand why everytime I call and speak to a manager and they tell me how much I owe, then when you call back to speak to that manager, he or she is no longer handling your file. I'm then always given an amount to be paid, then I call back to confirm that amount then I'm quoted a differenct astronomical amount that doesn't make sense and tell me why I can't get a breakdown of my account via email, US mail or fax? What's really going on with this company? Who can I contact to get a breakdown of my account before I pay them my February payment next week?

    Good Luck on this, I was financed thru ACS and this company took over my loan,I tried for 6 months to reach them before they called me back and demnaded 2000.00. There excuse was they have over 20,000 accounts.
    They are RUDE,ARROGANT and there employees do not care about you.They will hassles you and call you until you pay. They have numerous complaints on them. I myself will filing a lawsuit on them when I receive my title to my car.

    The phone calls will not stop, They DO NOT CARE about you or any other bills that you have, basically they told me look lady the government is not helping people, at least we are tryin to work out something. Yeah, they think all I have is a car note to pay, they do not care if you get evicted, utilitys shut off. Good Luck! they have been reported. BBB has them with a big fat F, I also see where others are filing class action lawsuits.

    YES CPS... THEY ARE THE WORST.... THEY DO THINK THAT THEY CAN... TALK TO PEOPLE ANYWAY THAT THEY WANT TO...CALLING LEAVING SO CALLED THREATING MESSAGES...ON YOUR PHONE... CALLING YOUR WORK...THEY CALLED MY 80 YR OLD GRANDMOTHER....NOW COME ON...WHERE ARE THE ETHICS.... LIKE I TOLD ONE OF THE REPS... I DONT CARE IF YOU CALL ME 100 TIMES..IF I DONT WANT TO TALK..I WILL NOT ANSWER.. AND THATS HOW I CARRY IT..... I DONT ANSWER... THEY GAVE ME A SO CALLED EXTENSION THAT CHANGED MY DUE DATE..NOW I AM LATER EVERY MONTH..OVER 2000.00 IN LATE FEES...... I SEND MY PAYMENT EVERY MONTH....LOL ...LATE OF COURSE..AND I DONT ANSWER ANY CALLS.... LOL.... SO... I KNOW THEY ARE PISSED BUT WHO CARES.....

    I know the feeling
    I financed with them and had the same problem and delt with the same rude people.  Every month someone different was handling your file.  They called a few times claiming to be a towing company called "AA Towing" and they wanted the keys to my truck.  What towing company you know will call to let you know they're coming to repo your car.  They must have called my desk 30 times back to back on day and it drove me crazy.  I hate this company and I reported them to the BBB.  After that, the calls stopped.  After all the fees they added to my account it seem like it would have been 10 years to pay off my vehicle.  Last year I told them to pick up their piece of junk.  2006 with 98,000 miles with four years left to pay.  I don't think so.  It was so not worth it and it feels good as hell not to see their number come up on my caller ID.  Good luck to you all that still finance with them.

    I received a loan thru CPS in 2005 was never late on my payment cause my payments was set up  in alottments when I was in the military. After getting out my payment fell behind by 10 days and these F&^*#)!s started calling my moms aunts whoever was a reference. An the employees there must take a rudeness test before getting hired cause they have some of the rudest attitudes ever I have never dealt with ANYONE likew them an wish that I didnt get my vehicle thru them.
