CPS financed my car 2 years ago.  One month, I called because I was going to be late with my payment.  They offered a one-time-only deal of extending that payment for 2 weeks.  I accepted.  What they did not tell me was that this was a permanent change to my payment due date.  Since then, I am now ALWAYS 2 weeks late with my payment with monthly late fees piling up that I refuse to pay.  I currently owe almost $2,000 in late fees because of this; also, because of this continual lateness, they have harrassed me at work calling continuously while I am in class teaching.  One day I had to argue with the csr because she told me to clean out my car, she was sending a repo team to my school to pick up my car.  I asked her if I could call her back in 20 minutes after my students left, she said to just clean out my car.  I chewed her out and hung up.  She called 5 minutes later claiming that it was not her who had previously called me and asking if I would PLEASE return her call in 20 minutes.  They have also harrassed my elderly and ill parents, my neighbors, my friends, and my coworkers.

    I didn't even realize I was financed through these pricks.I spoke with and did a phone coference with another company I like. Then they called me when it was 1 day late. I had no account information, just CPS. Didn't even know what it meant. Recenly I was very ill and was on my 8th day late. They called me and said this was all a total loss and they were coming to pu the car. Left me 8 messgaes in 2days. I will happily give them this POS back. Idiots.

    CPS = criminals .... They take advantage of the fact that at one point in your life you had a rough patch & because of a number you are not important.... They act like you owe them your life because they took a chance on you when really they just saw a person desperate that they can take advantage of and Its disgusting that a company like this is still in business ....I have already spoke with a lawyer and intend to go after them once my loan is paid off for all the money they took from me, not to mention they broke their own contract changing my due date without my permission, & talking to people who aren't even on the loan...I'll make sure by word of mouth to warn everyone I can NEVER to use this terrible company....They offer you a loan RUN 4 THE HILLS they are rip off's!!!

    cps is the worst people to deal with my car was repo yesterday i have been calling to get my personal item out and they havent return non of my calls i will never deal with them they call me from blocked numbers and that is against the law to call from a block number they dont know how to talk to people they call you yelling and playing games like there someone else they honestly need to get training from ford motor credit because they dont know how to talk to you at all so in a way im so glad i dont have to deal with cps nomore im so tired of them putting me though all this drama

    just got off thephone with the rudest his name is micheal but today he said it was christofer. when i asked for his anme at first he would not tell me so i just kept saying it over and over until he finally said christofer. I told him he was being recorded he said no he was not. I said how do you know i am not recording you, and how rude you are? he then tried to be noce but it didn't last he threatened to repo because of being late with 258 dollars when i told him that was what i was behind he said that i was 6 hundred behind i said no my statement sayes 258 he sayes my statement is wrong !!! I told him off and hung up then i called miss rodgers who claims to be a sup. she just transfered me back to him this time he trys to pretend to be some one else but i told him i knew it was him and he started being rude again, H e told me i was ignorant ,rude and i better get the money or he would repo i told him go a head. and if he was going to repo regardless then i would not make a payment and would use the money to go buy a nother car, he started laughing and told me i was ignorant , so i told him do your homework buddy ia m allready approved for another car . after i get the car , i will call yopu back and tell you where to pick up his car. he got mad!!!! so i said you will take the payment that i am offering you today, or come get the care your choice. he took the payment. don't threaten me!!! i told him two can play at this game before i hung up i told him all the things he said to mee and reminded him of the recording . and said now you have a nice day. Jerk

      Good for you! Question are you in Illinois? I've delt with a Michael, mr. Luis, miss rodgers, and all are ignorant!

    OMG I can relate to every story. This company is sooo freakin rude. I will be looking to finance my car with someone else or I might just give them the car back. I have never in my life dealt with anything like this.

    i just got off the phone with them and they told me the repo people are on hold to pick up my car. However, im not even 30 days late.. WTH, try to get refin now with someone else. not dealing with this at all....

    CPS is the WORST company to deal with. I lost my job in Jan. and have made every effort to keep my payments up. I have a 2005 Benz that isn't worth the payoff. I can't afford the payment anymore, or the upkeep, so they left me no choice but to voluntarily let it go back. The rep I talked to was the rudest thing to me, and told me that I shouldn't have bought a Mercedes since I apparently couldn't afford it, to which I told her WHEN I HAD A JOB I COULD AFFORD IT!!! They took an unauthorized payment out of my checking account and overdrew me by $200. After speaking with a supervisor who assured me they would not refund the money, I called my bank, opened an investigation, and they refunded the money. Now they are telling me that once the car is sold, that whatever the difference is that I'll have to pay, and that whatever job I get they will come after my paycheck. Really??? I hate this company. They shouldn't be allowed to be in business!!!!

    I have been with cps almost 5 years.  They are absolutely the worst company EVER!!!! They repo my car today!!!!!!! Any chance of getting it back????

      Usually you have to pay up to date and towing fees. Call the company that repoed it and call the cps phone gangsters. The loan company, i believe, has to send a release form. Good luck im sure im just a day or two away from a repo as well

    CPS, we all agree, are phone gangsters. Every post on here is related to my issue in some form or another. As of 10 minutes ago I FOUND MY SOLUTION. No matter how childish it may sound they hung up pissed and me laughing! I just acted dumb and immature! Example, ok I'll put it on my card number is, i read off about 20 numbers talking over her. Every time shed talk id talk. Kid like, i know, but ended up the best call I've had in 4 months. And i filed with BBB, next step AG and order of protection against "miss rogers" seeing as how she threatend my personal safety and everything was recorder. From here on out i will not only have fun but provoke them even more to use more violent language!  Good luck to you all!

    I would also love to get some advice... if anyone has any. I am now at the 'maturity' of my loan and they claim that I owe over $1400. The reason for this is that I was late with some payments, etc.. The problem is this... when the loan started, I was making payments on a regular basis - but of course, something happened... and I started to get behind. They did the same thing to me that they did to one of the other people above - took out two payments instead of one... and of course one bounced. Another time I attempted to pay through my bank (instead of credit card) and it never made it through CPS. My bank never had the transaction posted - I called and was told it was an error on their part (block on my account) and they would wipe the fee if I made the payment. So, I made the payment - guess what - fees still remained . This happened 2 times. In addition, I was going thru the 'audit' they sent me, and it turns out they were charging a higher rate of interest at the beginning than what I was supposed to pay - so, I have pointed out that I owed them $200 less because they took what should have been principal as interest. I have been told that the numbers are not wrong, but I can not be provided with a reason for why the numbers are what they are, even though I was paying on time...
    I have not gotten any answer except to be told I had to pay if I want to ever see my title... HELP!!

    CPS continues to call me about a person that I am not now or ever been associated with. I have told the agent six times today alone that I do not know the person she is calling about. The agent seem to have made it her personal mission to mess with me, now she calls just to hang up or shout obscenities.

    You can send a letter to them (certified) telling them that the fair credit and reporting act allows you to have contact with them in writing only. They are not allowed to call and list all the  numbers of you and your references. They can then only write you. I did this and it works.

    I have a car loan with CPS.   Just notice they deducted a payment from my checking account with out my approval.   I had already paid this month payment.   This company can not be trusted.  
    Have reported them to the FTC.

    Now that they settled, have they changed their practices? I went to a dealer this past weekend, and was given a loan package through CPS.  
    I understand that if you are late, they can take your car.  Though it seems like they harass anyone who has a loan with them.
