I am a customer of HSBC. I recently started to get calls from the HSBC collection department. At first I thought it was some misunderstanding because my account with HSBC is in good standing. After several calls from them it was clear they are looking for a different person. I explained to them several times that I am not the person they are looking for, and that they need to remove my mobile phone number from the records of that customer.
However, the calls continue. I am disappointed in their level of attention and cooperation with the customer.

....HOW'S ALL THAT HERION YOU'VE BEEN INJECTING? OBVIOUSLY YOU'RE ADDICTED TO THAT [***], OTHERWISE YOU WOULD NOT BE DEFENDING A COMPANY THAT IS NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF F'N RAPISTS AND THEIVES. AND ABOSUTELY NONE, AND I MEAN NONE, OF YOUR LYING, STUPID EMPLOYEES HAVE EVER OFFERED TO TO BE UNDERSTANDING IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM WHEN IT COMES TO REPAYING BACK ANY CREDIT. THEY ARE NOTHING BUT RUDE, CRUDE AND INSULTING PEOPLE, AND AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, THEY ALL SHOULD HAVE DIED IN THE 9/11 ATTACKS. I too paid HSBC monthly payments of $240 per month for 3 years on a $10k personal loan (as I was told by the rep), which turned out to be a $10k revolving credit at 24.97 interest. HOW THE HELL WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU PAID $6K IN TIMELY PAYMENTS ON A LOAN FOR THREE F'N YEARS AND FIND OUT YOU STILL OWE MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL PRINCIPAL BORROWED ($10K). I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS WHAT ANY OF YOU SAY, HSBC IS AN INCORPORATED LOAN SHARK AND THEY SHOULD BE DRIVEN OUT OF BUSINESS AND SUFFER MAJOR LOSSES. EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE SHOULD LOSE THEIR JOBS AND THE ATTY GENERAL SHOULD SHUT DOWN THIS ALLEGEDLY LENDING BUSINESS FOR EVER!!! WHY DON'T YOU STUPID IDIOTS ALL MOVE TO INDIA AND OPEN UP IHSBC.....THAT WAY YOU CAN HAVE CLOSE TO A BILLION PEOPLE TO BEND OVER AND RAPE THEM OF ALL OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY...AND WHEN YOU ARE DONE....WHY DON'T YOU ALL MOVE TO CHINA AND WORK YOUR SAME DAMN MAGIC OVER THERE...THIS WAY, THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL IMPLODE!!!!!!
It is what it is.. 'Collection'. It's not 'Please can you pay your bills whenever you feel like, but don't worry it's not urgent'
If that can answer a few ?s:
1. Hanging up won't stop the calls.
2. Being vulgar or uncooperative won't stop the calls.
3. Being honest will help you get an agent to help you the best they can, even if you can't afford your bill, they got programs.
4. Moving out won't stop the calls. (Eventually they'll trace you back).
5. Do No Call List does not stop the calls.(This only works for Marketing/Sales companies.)
6. They won't reduce interest rate - you we're aware of it before asking for a financing.
7. If agents hang up on you, make a complaint, they ARE looked over.
8. Don't call it 'harassment' when you answer calls, that's called 'avoiding responsibilities'.
9. Signing up for someone else doesn't make you unliable for pmnts due.
10. READ YOU CONTRACT BEFORE DISPUTING.
My best advise remains, like any company you deal with, face your problem right away and as soon as possible so you avoid having your credit affected, like other HSBC employee mentioned before, most of us are there to help you because that's how we meet our goals as employee and get bonuses, etc. Don't go judging a whole company because you fell on one rude agent. Sucks to say but in the age we're living our credit is our future. If you face a critic situation and seek help to resolve your problem and the agent over the phone isn't any help - ASK FOR A MANAGER, they are obliged to transfer you or direct you to a manager voice mail which can take care of your inquiry at lot faster than debating with a casual unexperienced agent.
Understand that this WorldWide Bank is very efficient to get back the money you owe and that's why it's everywhere, because BIG franchises like Best Buy, Future Shop, Henry's and thousands more in the world don't want to have financial loses and deal with financial problems they delegate their whole Financing business to Corporate Banks like HSBC. For every unsatisfied client closing down his account, there is 1000s new ones opened daily.
Truth is 85% of clients I used to call are people struggling with debts or people uneducated of credit policies and terms.
15% of poeple we're just over sighted payments, statement lost in mail, payment misapplied by mistake, stuff like that.
So before you go yelling and calling names over agents trying to reach you so you preserve a good credit and save you $ on interest fees.. ask yourself if VISA, MasterCard or any other Financial Institutions does the same before the damage is already done.
Enclosed pl.find the three Tata Aig policies and HSBC bills xerox copies as you advised.
The discrepancies are as under.
1.Policies are dated 29/12/09. but your period of billing is 04-12-09 to 03-01-10.
2 S.Jawahar's Policy amount is Rs.734/-but you charged in your bill Rs. 1455/-
So,the bill amount should be Rs.3644/- and not 4364.70
Both the corrections have to be made at your end and send the revised bill.
1 month after I received nothing. I called their 800 # and was told I'm not in their system. Then i visited their Grand Central branch and gave them (again) my SSN, and once again requested the same cards. 2 weeks after, nothing again. So I called yet again. I was told no cards were ever requested for me, and after a few minutes of being put on hold, was told that the Grand Central branch never ever got a visit from me!
At this point, I was speechless, as this type of service is what one expects from a supposedly small-time bank in a backward society.
Our solution is simple. We closed our accounts and took our money to Chase.
HSBC might have flashy advertisements everywhere, but they lack the human touch. Thank God we live in a capitalist world where there are options!
Believe it or not HSBC now charging me Php 217,000.00 for in fact I only have Php25,000.00 credit limit? See how they make money so easy from people like me?
