Yesterday, I received a call from a "Kevin Johnson" who claimed to be calling to collect on a debt owed on a payday loan. He spoke in a thick Indian accent. I informed him that I was filing chapter 7 bankruptcy and gave him my lawyer's information. Today, he called me back from 1 (311) 695-3764. He left a call back number on my voicemail asking to call him back on this number: 1(347) 602-4551. Then he called me back this evening and would not give me any information except to tell me that he was collecting for a payday loan from Cash Advance. I have never heard of this company, first off. Second off, he was very rude and hung up on me when I was trying to get information. He had my social security number and said he had an affidavit for my arrest. I am very concerned b/c I have read on the internet that this is a scam and this guy has my social security number. I am going through a bankruptcy and I am hoping to establish some credit and I don't need some wierd scammer with my social...

These business is going in india in many states. They are collecting funds from the U.S. people and force them to make a payment. They do hve a script as below…
This is ============ and i have you listed as the primary suspect on a case file which is going to be downloaded in your county court for further legal actions. The nature of my call is to ascertain your attorney’s information so tht i can be able to fax the affidavits to your attorney before file ing the case against you…
They give three false allegations . They do hve to information of the people of US with SSN, ADDRESS, BANK name and ACC, PHN NO, WORK NO, AND REFERENCE NUMBER. I kindly request you all to stop paying the payments cause u hve no loans pending and they are earning in rupees… India is great and one of the best country but there are some people who are doing this to earn a lots of money and the US payday loan sites should stop giving “LEADS” (they are giving personal informations of the people in india who are applying for the loan in united states so in india it is easy to earn money sitting and dialing and collecting money from U.S. people) to india.

What is their source of U.S. consumer identity information?

    Fake "payday loan application" websites?
Or do they have access to credit reports?

I have received several messages in the last week from 484-361-4801 and an "Alice Watson".  I also believe this is a scam.  They claimed to be a law office that had a judgement against me.  I asked them why I would not be notified of this information via registered mail or other official means.  I was told this was the prelimary step prior to that official notification.  I truly believe this one was a scam too.  Beware everyone!

I got a phone call from a guy with a middle eastern/Indian accent saying I owed $354.00 on a pay day loan. When I told him I never recieved any loan in my checking account he read off my bank account & social security number. Scary. He said he was from the Fraud Department of the Civil Court of the State of New York. I called the court in New York & the person knew right away what I was talking about. He said he gets 4 or 5 calls a week with the same complaint. His boss turned it over to the FBI. The number the Indian guy gve me was a California number. I blocked my number & called him back. I asked him for his badge number & for the home office number in New York. He just kept saying I was being recorded & that he was a Federal Officer. He would not provide me a number & ended up hanging up on me. These people really think someone is stupid enough to fall for this scam? Morons.

I got a voicemail for an Indian woman (I couldn't understand her name). The message said I have a lawsuit that has been filed against me because I have committed a fraud. That scared the crap out of me. I called back and got "Officer Kevin Johnson." I thought that was interesting because the name sounded so American and he had a really heavy Indian accent. He told me I owed $375.00 for a payday loan. I asked him who the lender was and he listed 12 different companies it could be. I have taken a loan out in the past and I pulled up my records and the only one I had used before was Cash Net USA. I contacted them and they said my loan was paid in full. I was sent a payment authorization form from Kevin Johnson and I replied back asking for the exact name of the lender they said I owed money to and what the court case number was since he insisted I had a lawsuit filed against me in California. I had not gotten a reply yet. They get all our personal information from the loan applications we fill out online. He kept insisting for my debit card number to secure my payment. Beware of this if you do a payday loan.

This same guy is driving me insane!!  Not to mention that he initially scared the hell out of me!  He said that I had to contact a mediator for charges that had been filed against me and that because I had not done so he would be filing charges against me.  Then he said he had verified my home address and would be "catching up" with me to serve me with papers!  Well knowing just enough about the law I knew he was full of it and that this was a scam!  Micheal Sanchez is a complete moron!!!  I hope he has a great time "catching up" with me!!!  By the way the phone number that he left for me to call back was a bank that had no clue what I was talking about!!!!

i'm gettong these calls stating that there is a action againist me and/or my lawyer should call them today. i have been getting these calls for over 3 months. the call are in a set of 3, starts on monday, then on wednesday and ending on friday. always using the same name of who is calling( on two of the days normal english names: on the last their make the mistake a leave a forgien name) leaving no company name or using a company name you cannot understand. the numbers they are calling from are non-existing. used to work for the phone company i know that all phone numbers whether calling in or out is a standard set of ten numbers...(area code 3 digits) + (3 digits prefix) + (4 digits line number). per my lawyer if there is a lawsuit or court action towards you, you should get a LETTER stating that actions againist you. just let them leave their message DON'T answer any of their call and report the calls. also try changing your number and start screening your calls. if you don't know the number DON'T ANSWER THEIR CALLS...the your voice mail or answer machine answer for you...look for these types of numbers in your caller id list: unavailable..526-16237..405-005-05654,888-886-1826..954-491-7278..3..877-339-4612..786-441-9330..516-516-5027323..847-783-8966..516-502-7323...877-634-4434..305-907-5108...877-634-4434..731-256-0031..203-717-4003..

I have received no less that 19 distinct attempts of [***] with thick "Curry Breathed" Indian accents using names like "Rick Williams" or "Steve Anderson"....

They have not called in a while

It usually starts with them telling me that there are TWO attorneys listening....
I generally reply, "That is alot of S### to have stacked in room isn't it?"

I usually suggest that they open a convienence store so he can "Ha-laise the plice"   That usually scores points

Asking if he wants to be paid in American Dollars or Rupee?

Be sure to only refer to him personally as APU or PUPU (as in diaper fodder)   They like ti when you call them that

When they say they are going to have you arrested, just simply say "I be here waiting"   No problem

When he says "Get yourself an attorney"....  I usually say, "why, I am not committing wire fraud, you are"

Ask him to validate the debt, where is the check, where is your documentation...  asking him questions usually puts them on there heels quickly

If he asks you for any information.... don;t give him anything, sinply reply "Is that info not on your TELNET fishing list print out?"

I actually miss these calls, because by caller number 10 I usually got is down to making him regret he had ever read my name on his lead report in 5 minutes"

Abuse them in ever imaginable way, with every racial stereotype you can possibly think of....  they called you, you did not call them......   they can get over it....
