Home Preservation is bull shit

I just want to inform everyone that Wells Fargo's Home Preservation department is useless and very deceiving. In the last few years I have faced numerous hardships due to medical conditions, unemployment, and salary cuts, in which I had used  all my savings and 401k, because "Wells Fargo's Home Preservation Program", failed to provide any help and I was denied any help every time. A common phrases I heard numerously were “we can’t do anything for you Sir”, “we’ll have one of our specialist call you back”, and “this call is an attempt to collect a debt”. This program will not work, but influence the buyer to continue paying their mortgage thinking help is on the way, “NOT TRUE”, while Wells Fargo is receiving money and continuing foreclosure on your house. If you noticed that every department from Wells Fargo, when they call the 1st thing out of their mouth is, “this call is an attempt to collect a debt”, which advice you to pay immediately. In the same day Wells Fargo inform me that my home had trigger the initial proceedings for foreclosure and notify you that you have 34 days for repayment (this was more like a threat than a notification) and later that day I was contact by this department and was told different, which recommended to continue payments and my loan will be reviewed by an underwriter within 30-60 days.  Wells Fargo is full of s***, they don’t care about you; because the loans are insured and they will get paid no matter what. Their goal is to squeeze your money while they’re following the state foreclosure guidelines. This is why the government is currently auditing the bank’s foreclosures in search of foul play. Im in my last proceeding and I trying to borrow money from family members to repay the passed due amount…..”Why you may ask?” This is my roof over my head and all my money has been invested in this home, I don’t want to lose it for just $8K. I recommend that if your facing this situation it’s better to make a decision early and decide to either stop paying mortgage and save your money (live free for 6 to 18 months free) or borrow money and make your account current only if you believe you can continue paying your mortgage for at least another 1-1.5yr. Don’t depend on Wells Fargo to provide any help or alleviated your situation. Avoid working with Kevin Finnen and Zanarda Johnson Home Preservation Specialist.

They don't want you to qualify and they ask for the same documents numerous times, change process, change forms, and change personnel in the process to start all over, and missing information, which was never requested.

    Not Giving Up!

After reading all of your e-mails it is clear that WELLS FARGO never intended to help any of us. They're goal is to take your home, write it off as a loss, and then sell it, allowing them to profit twice. They are ruthless liars. Their goal is to frustrate you into giving up, but don't. Make it your business to call them daily, several times a day. Record all your information, contact your state representatives, congressmen and send e-mails to white house.gov. and anybody else you can think of. They are getting away with murder. No wonder this economy isn't moving, most of our money is going towards keeping a roof over our heads. We have been sending the same documents for two years, while our mortage payments continues to increase. It is difficult to pay all of our bills, when most of our money goes towards our ever increasing mortgage payment. Even the employees at my local branch of Wells Fargo admit that what is happening is wrong. So every other month we play the game with wells fargo, we reapply for a modification, request that the late fees be waived since you can't be charged a fee while you are being considered for the loan modification that will never come. I will never stop fighting them or looking for a resolution. Because if they can lower the price of my home and sell it to someone else. They can do it for me. Instead of complaining to each other, send these very legitimate complaints to someone who can provide us with real solutions. I wish you all the best. Wells Fargo must be stopped!

You are so right! Be sure to contact the Office of the Treasury with complaints about Making Home Affordable Modification. You can also file complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Comptroller of Currency and the Special Investigator of the TARP. Also, contact your state attorney general. This is where I have gotten the most help. The HOPE line and foreclosure prevention services are useless!

I have been trying for 3 years to get a modification and just like everyone else above, they always lose papers, ask you for the same information over and over again, they don't modify anything.  They just want their money no matter what.   I am trying to swim in a shark infested water to no avail.  The government should do something about them!

    No Relief in Sight
I have had the same  experience all of the people wo commented before me. I started this whole ordeal  in March of 2012 have since been reassigned 3 times, you can add Katrina Watson, and Pam Martin to your list of No Loads. I was once assigned to Cherie Godwin who was actually a breath of fresh air but then I was quickly reassigned to yet another useless specialist. I have faxed and refaxed the same documents time & time again, they sat on them and then contact me to say the documents are out dated and must be sent again, often times it had to be that day or my request for help would be canceled. I agree that a class action law suit may offer some recourse. I'm sad to know that so many other people are having the same frustrating experience that I am.

Same experience as everyone above. I started the process in jan of 2012 and here I am 12 months later saying the same thing over and over again to a different person every time I call. I have been given phone extensions and I call and get a voicemail and they don't call back. I ask for a supervisor and I get a voicemail and they don't call back either. The only department that seems efficient is the one that moves the process into foreclosure and gets an attorney involved. If you need help, if you need a follow up, if you need a return call, or if you would like to speak to the same person twice.... IT WON'T HAPPEN. My only advice is to sue them before they sue you.

The only way I have gotten through to any of these guys is to go to a WF branch and explain your situation to a banker.  The banker can't do anything for you, but they have direct numbers to supervisors.  This also won't resolve your situation, but I believe that if these supervisors get enough complaints something might change.

I've been going at this for 14 months, and supposedly I was approved for modification, but I'm still getting calls and certified letters that my mortgage is in default.  My "home preservation specialist" is worthless about returning calls, and his "supervisor" isn't any better.  My payments (which have been made on time for 12 months) are all sitting in a suspense account, and each month I get another inspection fee added to my bill.

well i have been late on my mortgage for the past 3 months- i have made the payment but its been 30 days late everytime. i have since filed for a modification on the loan and am submitting the paperwork today. but after reading all these comments i feel like i am wasting my time. i do not intend on being in the home by the end of the year and plan on throwing it on the market within the next 8 months. however, for those 8 months i would like my mortgage payment lower so i can make the payment ontime. i have taken a 45% decrease in my monthly income and it has caused the lateness.

what are your thoughts on this? im going to apply for the modification cause it wont hurt to try. do i make payments while all this is going on? should i just default? im so lost after reading all of this. i am a first time buyer and i have been in the house for over 4 years. it sucks to read all of this.

I am so unsure of this Loan Modification Program now after reading all these reviews.  Just started the process a month ago and experiencing the same conditions.  Lost paperwork. They say they have not received the paperwork until 2 weeks later and then still need to have more sent to them.  How can Wells Fargo continue to get away with this with everyone saying the same thing about them.  The person I talked to at Wells Fargo confessed that there is a problem with the process and are working on it.  I want to stop this process and try and catch up on my mortgage because of all this but it will be difficult since I am 2 months behind.  Will have to depend on God to help because Wells Fargo sure won't.

Love God, but do not "depend" on him to make your payments. Not only will he *not*, he has a well-documented disdain for "banks". Best Wishes.

did they say anything about still attempting payments? i mean obviously you want to try.. but im thinking if this is going to give me the run around i may as well hold on to the coini  can and just sell my house when i planned on it... this summer. i hate to think it will take that long, but after reading this thread and another one- i have no faith in them finding a resolution.

    same story here
We found out today that our special forebearance plan that was agreed upon for January through April 2013 was all b.s.   My husband lost his job last summer and we immediatley contacted WF to find a solution.  We spent months submitting and resubmitting paperwork and finally,  while still managing to make our monthly payments,  got approval for a forebearance plan.  I had just paid "November's" mortgage and got the approval notice the next day.  I called to clarify the deal and couldn't reach our specialist,  but spoke with a very helpful gentleman instead who explained that the payment I just made went to January & February's forebearance pymts,  that we were skipping November & December's payments and our next payment due was the balance of February 2013.   I clarified that those 2 months would be skipped,  that nothing would report negatively on my husband's credit and what we needed to do to keep the loan current.   Today,  after no further notices,  bills, collection attempts from WF,  we find out that a 60 day late, in the amount of 2 months of mortgage has been reported on my husband's credit.  I called and spoke with two very unhelpful people,  and got nowhere.  Technically,  we are behind only December's payment,  since I paid November's and January isn't late yet.  Where the eff do they get that we're 2 months behind?  Their plan, from what I understand now, was to trash my husband's credit, and let us pay on the forbearance plan and in April,  demand the 2 "skipped" months and the difference in 4 months of payments for a total of $2824 and foreclose on our home then,  when we're unable to pay that lump sum.   We have a VA loan,  so they're protected,  and they'd sell this house and get paid twice.  I don't think so,  Wells.   I don't think so.  Mama has a plan and you will be losing our business asap.  We will keep our home and your "forebearance plan" can suck it.

Ive read the posts about what you all are going through. How about this. I was transferred to this same department and was given an option to forclose or do a quick sale....mind you I'm not 30 days past due, only 2 weeks. A Carrie decides to move forward with a quick sale that only she knew about. I get a call today from a gentleman to do a survey of my property! How about that! I have NEVER experienced such a thing. It was mindblowing. I've reqeusted to be removed completely from this department and will deal with my situation on my own. I've even called her supervisor twice.......still waiting.

I feel your pain.  After I posted our situation,  we paid December and January and are now completely current, late fees and all.   We told them to cancel the forbearance since it is clearly not to our benefit.   Today, we received a letter telling us we no longer qualify for the assistance,  and it went on to outline our options of short sale, deed in lieu,  or foreclosure.   Wtf?!?!   We paid 2 mortgage payments in 2 weeks and are now current since February is not yet due.  Are they preying on our houses?

    waiting game
submitted all my paperwork a couple weeks ago. i made sure before i did all this my mortgage was current and that i have the month they told me "not to pay at this time" was in the bank. they said check back in a couple weeks- i believe next week will be 2 weeks so ill be calling and seeing what they say. i havent heard from them. i am hoping for a positive outcome to this. i would honestly opt for a short sale if i could at this time. but i think with tax season around the corner ill be ok. i just want a lower payment... who would have thought owning a home would be a burden. ill be renting next time.

Wsrning.  They told us that too.   Don't pay right now.  Then reported the "late" payments on my husband's credit.  If you can,  keep it cureent.
