I work for a california county child support office and I have been receiving phone calls from this collection agency and previous ones for approximately 4 years. This is over a phone bill that is for someone I do not know and gave my office number as their contact number. I have explained several times and I guess they think I am lying. I am not the person they are trying to reach and am very upset as I have perfect credit and do not deserve the harassing phone calls. I have requested that they stop yet they do not. The number they leave to call back is 1-866-221-3230.

These collection company's should state their full legal name and nature for their call. Also they should tell you who has placed your account in question with them. I have dealt with collectors in the past and when they state who has placed an account with them for collections.
I also had a company we owed money to and they returned my check stating it was not paid in full, thats when i was informed that our account had been placed with a collecitons agency and in order for the account to show paid in full we would need to send the check to collection company! I DONT THINK SO!!  So basically this company hasnt been paid and until they decide to accept our check for payment then they wont get paid! I will play hell before i send their collection agency they hired the money.

This company is also a collector working for Capital One credit cards. I
read comments on other sites where AI was claiming to be CO on the phone, and decided to call CO directly about the matter, since AI has been harassing me 3-4 times a day every day for a month, never saying anything at all. I was SO disappointed to find out when the customer service rep admitted "well..... it looks like we are affiliated, they're a third party collections agency for us". She actually said she would tell AI to take my name off of their list! It was supposed to take 48 hours, but it's day 5 and AI is still calling... 3-4 times a day. Give Capital One a call if you're a customer of theirs and tell them what you think of their affiliation with such a scumbag company.

All they do is try to harass you into submission. They will say anything to get money out of you. Their current contact info is 716-206-3118 or 1-866-839-1652. Call them and let them know how you feel. I have already filled a complaint with the FTC, I suggest you do the same.

Allied has started to call me concerning a Sprint Bill from 1994 which was an Identity theft issue. Even though I was the victim this remained on my credit for 7 years. Sprint of course refused to remove it and I refused to pay it. I personally am not going to pay for anything That I didn't do. So Allied calls me and tells me that they are trying to collect a bill from Sprint. I explained to them that this bill is over 15 years old that I did not do this and that is why it is not or will not ever be paid. He goes on to say in broken English how it will be placed on my credit. I let him know that this had already been on my credit for 7 years and that it cannot be put back on there again. That they will not get paid for this. They continued to call I got the name of a few of them and began calling them back and harassing them. They know the calls are coming from me I don't care. After non stop calls 9 to 10 times a day from them I figure that I will call the company and harass them why not fair is fair. I asked them to stop calling and even sent a certified letter none of which worked so now I just call and am rude and obscene to them. If I have a bad day or get frustrated I just call Allied and take it out on one of there debt collectors. I figure that eventually they will get just as tired of me calling as I am of them calling me. When they do call i make it a point to answer the phone listen to the fact that I am on hold then call them right back and cuss them out till they hang up on me. after I started doing that my calls went from 8 to 10 time  a day to 1 maybe two. they don't want to talk to me and I like it that way.

I think we should create an online list of the personal phone numbers and addresses of  Allied Interstate's mercenary employers and staff.  Oh, yeah! Let's see how they like it.  Someone out there knows who they are.  It would  be nice to call "Miss Glass" and John at home for a friendly chat.

Okay, if everyone would block their own phone number and call the number the robot give out as often as possible, they will find out what harrassment is like AND have lots less time for collecting debt.  For extra fun, ask for those who have been most annoying personally.  Let's tie up those phones!

They are a collection agency.... Allied Interstate Collection. They collect debts illegally. They purchased a debt from LVNV Funding that was already paid about 5 years ago. They tacked on about $400 worth of their own fees to a debt that was already paid. I am now going to write and submit a complaint the BBB, the District Attorney and the FDCPA. Then I am sending them a debt validation request and warning them that I have documentation (because I do) and if they try to pursue collection I will sue them and LVNV Funding for illegal debt collection. Allied Interstate and LVNV Funding better get their acts together, because if they don't stop their illegal processes I am going to sue for as many violations as possible!!!!!!!

"Furthermore, the company will no longer place debt collection calls without a live operator introducing the call."

I can attest to two calls within the last two days (Jan 19 & 20, 2010) where this is not true.  It is a recording, not naming who they are trying to reach and giving an 800 number to call back.

They are getting worse. At first I just ignored them. Then I put the fax machine on. Then I blocked them on caller ID (but it still rings once). But when I went through my caller ID and realized that they call up to a dozen times a day, every day, I got REALLY MAD. They are scammers, pure and simple. They are NOT LEGIT. There is no way. The caller ID says telemarketer. When I answered a couple of times, there was nobody there and they just hung up. When I finally called back today, they picked up and hung up...until I blocked my number. Then when I finally spoke to someone, she wanted first my account number (huh??) and then my social. I told her, you are going to look up my phone number because you are going to flag it and never call me again. I have reported you to every interested agency and you will stop calling me all day long. She said okay, but then mysteriously hung up. I called back several times in a row before she finally answered again. I screamed at her. I told her I was coming after them, I was reporting them to every law enforcement agency that had authority over them and that she was read back my number. She knew exactly who I was (its obviously not a big operation), read back my number and I hung up on her. I have reported them to the FTC for attempted fraud. They are so OBVIOUSLY not legit. They are fishing for phone payments to steal financial information or to receive payment on illegitimate debts. I contacted the fraud department of Capital One and they told me that they are NOT affiliated with their company. No legitimate company would so flagrantly violate so many laws over and over again. Only criminals don't mind breaking the law because they are already doing it anyway. They scoop up whatever proceeds they can before they get caught, change their location and company name and start all over again. Please, please everyone report these violations and contact the state's attorney generals. It's the only way they can be stopped.

    Number: 888-748-4956
    CallerID: Telemarketing
called 37 times between 2/10 and 2/14 as of 12:21pm

I had basically the same thing happen to me last night!  The man's English was very poor and he couldn't comprehend much of what I said...he just kept reading his script.  I told him that I do not have any outstanding debt, and that I have never received anything in the mail.  He had the nerve to ask me if I ever check my mail, and when I said yes, he asked if I open it.  I asked him to send me a letter to prove that this is a valid debt, and they are a legitimate company, then his voice elevated and he was even harder to understand.  I asked for a supervisor who can speak understand English, he went back to the script, but louder and asked me if I am disputing the debt.  I said, yes because I don't know who the hell you are and you refuse to send me anything in writing to prove the debt is valid!  Come on now, who the heck would give their financial information to a foreigner who calls with some random debt collection call (btw...my supposed debt was only $23.00).

Oh! My Gosh!  They've got my number, too.  I don't have any debts--old or new!  They call and talk so fast that I don't have time to write down the number they want me to call.  Then they are gone--probably preparing to call back again. I never have talked to a real person.

My boyfriend had a loan with Sallie Mae that he actually paid off, yet somehow this company got hold of his info and is trying to say he still owes the FULL debt of his $5k student loan. He has all the proof that this debt was paid yet these people are harassing him for more money. What do we do???? They are crazy!

Allied has been calling me for a debt of my ex-brother-in-law.  I have never lived with him nor he with me, I have no idea how they got my number.  The first time they called me and left a message, I called them right back saying they have the wrong person, they asked for my phone number, I gave it to them, the woman said she'll take care of it.  For a little while I didn't hear from them. Then the recorded messages from #(800)652-7533 started again.  I never called them again nor will I since they didn't do anything the first time. I have not had a message for a couple of months until today.  I searched the internet and found the Federal Trade Commission that is supposed to help consumers (FTC.gov).  I filed a complaint with them, but they really don't do anything.  They give you a reference number and I think they just see how many complaints they get from this company, which pissed me off.  Anyway, I do suggest that everyone try to file a complaint.
