I work for a california county child support office and I have been receiving phone calls from this collection agency and previous ones for approximately 4 years. This is over a phone bill that is for someone I do not know and gave my office number as their contact number. I have explained several times and I guess they think I am lying. I am not the person they are trying to reach and am very upset as I have perfect credit and do not deserve the harassing phone calls. I have requested that they stop yet they do not. The number they leave to call back is 1-866-221-3230.

    they have called my number and I absolutely do not owe anyone a cent. the recording says it is to collect a debt,then the give a number to call back so quickly that I have not been able towrite it down.  I am fed up with this. I am elderly and want this to stop. I cannot see who iy is on the caller i.d.as I am almost blind.  I live in Fl.Would it do any good to get an unlisted number?

    I found out not only is this company allied interstate, which is a collection agency -- it is also iQor, inc.which does have a website. The CEO is Vikas Kapoor. Judging from others contact information, his email address is vikas.kapoor@iqor.com.  I also found out that there is a legal department that can be contacted. That information is: Kurt Tullar, Esq.  Vice President, Legal  iQor, Inc.   335 Madison Ave.  27th Floor  New York, N.Y. 10017

    After getting "toll free calls" from this company in the past 2 days, I let my fingers do the walking through the internet... and this is one nasty bunch of blood-sucking vipers who does not respect the collection law practices. And from what I have read, I hope there is a special layer of hell (the 9th level of Dante's) for these people.

    Call Arlene at Allied Interstate, she is a manager - 973-349-3383.  We should bombard them with as many calls as possible to make their lives miserable!!!!

    Surely, this is against the law!  I have no debt other than an up to date home mortgage and I get calls from 877-375-6990 about the same time every day - 2 or 3 times daily.  I just found out it was from Allied Intersatate and can't find an address for them.  Everyone on this complaint list should contact their respective attorneys general and try to put a stop to this annoyance.

    I have been harassed by Allied International and several other companies on my cell phone which I use for work.  I have even experienced automated and angry calls which warn me that I have police coming to arrest me!  I am not the person they are looking for. I checked on Spokeo for the name of the person they keep trying to call and they apparently had my phone number before me---however, that was 13 YEARS AGO! How do I stop these harassing calls?  I have perfect credit and do not need to deal with this. I have explained repeatedly that I am NOT even the gender they are searching for.  It is ridiculous!!!  HELP!!!

    Allied just started calling us, using a recording and a bogus caller id. We are not in arrears to anybody. It would sound as if they think they can get around their agreement with the FTC. Maybe their friends with Eric Holder.

    866-825-4574 belongs to Allied Interstate, a collection agency. They've called repeatedly about an account that isn't ours. No matter how many times I tell them my name and number are NOT what they're looking for they keep calling.

    I got an anonymous google email account. In that you can make a phone call for free. I've got them on speed dial now in my google account. Each time they call, I call them back to tell them to f&*k off.

    They get very upset. Do you see concern in these eyes?

    i had this number 3days and they call me at least twice a day....why???...who are these people....im going to the BBB or the atty general this is ridiculous

    I got them to stop calling
    Allied called our home 6 times a day, 7 days a week looking for someone with the same common last name.  After 10 weeks, I had blocked their calls but when I saw that they had called us again, I CALLED THEM.  The heavy Asian accented person on the line told me his name was Ted Gray (He had to spell it).  Sure and I am Mickey Mouse.  Anyway, I told him all the steps I had taken.  I said "The person you are looking for does not live here and never has.  You promised to take my number out of your system, I sent you a registered cease and desist letter that you signed for, I filed a complaint with the FTC and my State's Attorney General's office.  EVERY TIME YOU CALL ME, I WILL CALL YOU AND SEE HOW YOU LIKE GETTING HARASSED."  It has been several days now and NO CALLS.  Turn the tables on them.

    People..Allied Interstate is a legitimate collections agency.  Just so you know, you don't have to pay them BUT IF YOU HAVE A CALL ABOUT DEFAULTED STUDENT LOANS, I advise you to pay for it.  WHY?!  Because if you don't payments or payment arangements, the goverenment will get their money back; on top of that collect ALL collection fees and interest accured.  Keep in mind that even if you filed for bankruptcy, you'll still have to pay for student loans that you took out.  Oh, and I forgot to mention, if you filled out FAFSA and decided not to go to college, more likely, you'll have to pay back grant money and the loan.  If you didn't sign a paper stating that you dropped your classes and will no longer be attending that school, the governement will continue sending the money to the school and you're reliable for it...

    Oh and I forgot one thing......their information is straight from the information that you put on your income taxes and or from the application that you had filled out and processed with whichever co. they're trying to collect.

    At one time I was also harassed by allied looking for someone other than me. They kept thinking I was either lying to them or hoping they could strong arm me into paying someones bill for them. I dealt with this for years after we moved into our home and acquired our new phone number. After this debt has been sold and resold to many collection agencies since Allied, I bought a Digitone call blocker. Finally the calls stopped. Now when they called they immediately got blocked. They can't even ring my telephone anymore as the call goes into never never land. I am not one to go through the trouble of hiring attorneys and court dates and all the other crap that goes along with that. This was just easier for me. By the way I don't work for Digitone. I am just a happy consumer, as my phone is now almost silent as I only hear from calls that I want to hear from.

    The FTC is aware of the harrassment to innocent consumers from Allied Interstate Debt Collection Agency -

    Call them.

    File a complaint.

    They are being investigated.

    Janice or Janet Howard needs to be 'skip traced' by this company - I will not be strong armed into paying her past due debt from a collection agency that is trying to reach HER.

    They are clearly violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act -

    Follow these steps -

    When they call and ask to speak to the person they are attempting to reach, BEFORE you give them ANY information,. get THEIR INFORMATION FIRST -

    Get their name, phone # and name of the agency.

    Let them know that they have the wrong number and that you are requesting that they STOP calling you-  and that you are not familiar with the person they are calling for -

    If they do not provide a name or a 'real name' or a 'real call back phone number) no worries- Take the name and phone number they do give and notate it - Armed with the agency name, you then have the power to search them online and get THEIR phone number and address. (This is why it is SO IMPORTANT) to get this when they FIRST call)

    What's more important here is the date and time that they are calling and harrassing and to show a continuous 'pattern' of harrassment from the agency in the event that a lawsut is filed - You will want to have records of that -

    so, yes...deal with it ONLY UNTIL you have sufficient records to document the harassment, then you can proceed with appropriate action through filing complaints with govenmental agencies and the attorney general's office and the court system.

    If you call back to the company, there is a strong possibility that they will answer the phone with a 'real name' because you are calling back to them, so calling back in is the better way to get 'real names' from the people you are speaking with.

    Don't be forced to change your phone number because these folks refuse to follow the LAW!

    Fight back...and WIN!
