I work for a california county child support office and I have been receiving phone calls from this collection agency and previous ones for approximately 4 years. This is over a phone bill that is for someone I do not know and gave my office number as their contact number. I have explained several times and I guess they think I am lying. I am not the person they are trying to reach and am very upset as I have perfect credit and do not deserve the harassing phone calls. I have requested that they stop yet they do not. The number they leave to call back is 1-866-221-3230.

This company violates collection law on a daily basis. They called my home number at 6:49am when they KNOW that they are not allowed (By Federal Law) to call earlier than 8:00am.

I'm also getting the automated phone calls telling me to call their 800 number. I don't owe any debt and I'm not going to call the 800 number. I'm been getting these calls once a day for the last month. I just wish that a real person would call me and I can tell them I'm not the person their calling.

Allied has been calling a business phone number and not saying a word and hanging up. I have one message for them. Perhaps you should be informed of what might happen when all other options fail to impress you or dissuade you from your harassment!

I've noticed the phone ringing almost every morning between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. I leave at 8:45 for work and don't have time to answer the phone between those times. I check the ID though and it's always them. They've been calling for about 2 months.

I checked my voice mail the other day and a guy asked for my husband's ex-wife by her maiden name (which she goes by her maiden name now) I  got mad that she *may* have given our number as hers. Obviously, we don't get along.

This morning they called and I answered it. A lady asked for my husband's ex-wife. I said that she has been divorced from my husband for at least 9 years, but I had her cell #  that I would give to them. The lady never spoke and hung up.

I called them back and a guy answered. He was actually very polite and was apologizing for the call. He said he removed my # and asked if another number he had on file was hers. I answered no , that it was my husband's dad's number (my husband is a Jr.) and he removed that also. I gave him her new # and he said they are on an auto-dialer and it may call back within 24 hours until the auto-dialer updates again.

It sounded like a legit call to me. Unfortunately when I couldn't find a job, I had to work for a 3rd party collection agency called GC Services for 9 months, collecting car payments for Wells Fargo. We used an auto-dialer and a lot of times if we didn't have a number, we had a team called "Skip-Tracers" that go through past records and find numbers of people that you may have once lived with in order to try and track you down.

I'd say that skip-tracing is how they got my numberand father-in-;aw's number for my husband's ex-wife.

Allied Interstate is using a new 800 number. As of 4-2010 they have been calling a new business cell phone we have only recently gotten and the calls come from: (800)955-3103.  These calls are almost daily and around 8:30pm EDT.  The cell phone is as yet unassigned and generally remains in our office so nobody on our end has actually answered one of these 'in bound' calls yet, but we have returned the call in the morning to learn the identity of the caller and it is 'Allied Interstate'.  They don't leave any messages and when we return the call to the 800-955-3103 number shown on our caller ID, they begin asking significant details about who is calling and at that point we simply hang-up.....

I have begun to receive calls from this company who is searching for someone who does not reside here.  Despite my numerous attempts to clarify and now threats regarding their pestering calls...they persist at all times of the day and week.
Are there not laws in place regading this type of harassment?  Glancing at other emails, I will contact the Attorney General's office in my state.

I've been receiving calls from this company rather regular around 8-8:30 weekdays & some Saturdays as well, which pisses me off to no end waking us up on a weekend! What is REALLY getting me other than that is it is an automated call from "Privacy Director" & then states "Allied Interstate" press 1 to answer or 2 to ignore this call. I have pressed 2 for months now because I havent known who the company was. We are on the Do Not Call list so I thought it was a sales call with that recording. I've gotten so sick of these calls that I've started pressing 1 to answer but when I do it disconnects! I now know who they are & have gotten some of the #s posted here to call them back & give them a piece of my mind if they dont stop calling me.

We have been getting these calls daily for another person who has the same name as my wife's.
I called their florida office and they gave me the corporate office # of 1-800-469-9091.
Upon calling there i got a recording to which I left my number and what the error was.
Doesnt look good after reading these many posts that I will have sucess.

Has anyone succeeded in stopping them?

I have received at least 6 calls a day for the last week, any time between 6am and 10pm, from 866-235-3868.  I looked the number up online, found out that it had been linked to Allied Interstate.  I then called the number back from a land line and it was answered with just a "hello."  No company name or introduction of any kind.  I told the man who answered that I had been receiving numerous calls every day for a week and I wanted them to cease immediately.  The man told me his name was "Charles" and he worked for Allied Interstate, then he asked for the number I had received the calls on.  He then asked if my name was "Gloria."  I said, "no."  The man said he would remove my number from his system and the calls would stop within 24 hours.  If that really does stop the calls, then it was a fairly easy fix.  If it does not stop the calls, I will be on the phone with my AG on Friday.

Every few months a batch of these "this is an attempt to collect on a debt" phone calls come in for a few days in a row. They always ask for the same two people with unpronounceable names, and I tell them we've had this phone number for nearly 50 years, the only people who had ever used the number were members of my (deceased except for me) family - this was the 14th residential direct-dial number installed in the community, and I took the number with me when I sold the ancestral home. So either they have their records crossed, or some scammers picked my number out of a hat and used it to get some credit.

In any case, the FDCPA has laws for this type of thing, and Allied Interstate is breaking them (by disclosing the names of the debtors, the amounts and types of debt, and so on). I politely got into it with the rep on the phone, and she promised to go and immediately remove my number from the 2 accounts that had shown it in the past. She said it could take up to 4 working days for this to clear out of the phone system. I asked what I could do if the calls started up again as they had in the past, and she gave me the number of their "Consumer Advocacy Group"  - 800-811-4214. Let's see if the calls stay stopped for good this time.

Someone on here was asking about the statute of limitations on debts. Well, it differs by state. Here in Texas, it is 3 years, unless it's a court judgment or back child support. Apparently those never expire. Anyway, I get calls from debt collectors all the time, asking for people I do not know. I gave up answering the calls or telling them I do not know this person, since they never believe anything anyone says. They are debt collectors, so everyone is a liar, I suppose. They seem to call a certain number of times, say 75 calls, then they hand it off to another debt collector. They completely ignore the statute of limitations, since we've been getting calls about people we don't know for about 6 years, and counting. There is really nothing you can do about this, except refuse to answer the phone, or change your number. No one seems to care about helping out us innocent folks! Sorry, to be so negative, but it is what it is. Just don't stress over this stuff.

I have been receiving calls from this company on my CELLPHONE.
The numbert that show when they call me is : 866*720*1471.
The don't say "hello", they don't identify themselves.
When I answer the phone, a voice says "is this Uli Fesseler".
In the beginning I'd say "hello to YOU- and who are YOU??" ..they'd then say"We are a business. Is this Uli Fesseler?".I'd ask again who they are and a cat and mouse would ensue. Finally, someone gave me the name of that "business"...I never did find out what they do or want. I told them that only crooks don't identify themselves, I don't talk to crooks and I am going to contact the BBB.
    They still keep calling.
I find this outrageous and am very upset about this kind of harrassment.I want this to stop. What can be done?

    They called and called.

So, one day I sang this song:

Aliied was a black sheep, Interstate a [***],

Allied got big and Interstate got bigger

Allied Interstate is a collection agency [***].

    The person hung up.

A few days later, same thing.

Next day, very polite person called and asked why I was being racist and abusive. I said I'm just expressing my feelings about Allied Interstate. I said if you don't understand when I say the person you want is not here you get to hear the song.

That was three months ago. No more calls.

They call me about 2 times per day looking for someone who's name I never heard of. Sometimes, they skip a day, sometimes they'll call 3 - 4 times in a day. I do not EVER answer the phone anymore, since I just use my cell phone. They can call me for the next 15 years, I'll still not answer. The only reason I have this phone is it is needed by the Protection One security system. This is not something to get stressed about. It's just like pan handling.

This company is flipping ridiculous!  Calls at both home and work simultaneously.  I contacted someone there cause they didn't identify themselves and referred them to my debt consolidation agency.  Well, today, it starts all over again, and the guy tells me that I don't have enough with my debt consolidation agency, so they're calling me back.  I said "too bad - that's the only way you're getting money from me" and hung up on him.  He tried to call twice more right away, but I didn't answer.  I finally got my true C&D letter to them, as I finally got their letter (which was dated May 6, 2010) today (May 19, 2010).

If this continues, I will contact the FTC.  My debt consolidation agency sends out Power of Attorney letters so this shouldn't even happen.

    Credit card Deliq
Allied Interstate, what a joke. Probably started by a guy named Al who lied all of the time - get it, AlLied? Ha, ha.

The economy got me and I lost tons of money - literally. I maintained low balances on my cards and finally I could not pay on them & car repossessed, properties foreclosed, dog ran away etc - that's my sad story - boo hoo & my problem.

So a guy named X calls me and starts into me about my "breach of contract" and a bunch of other legalese and how I intentionally & fraudulently charged the card for 4K & was stealing (if I was going to steal, it would be for a hell of a lot more than 4 grand).

He then said he would take me to court and get a judgement to which I immediately asked what law firm he worked for. He stumbled and stated he was doing background work for the credit card company and proceeded to rev up into the collection mode - threatened to call my wife's work - which is illegal in my state, yada, yada.

He explained to me how I have assets that he going after - my house. Ooooo, I am scared now. I stated my loan is 410K and the value is 275K and I would be happy to give him the house for the 4K in indebtedness. What, no? Why not it is an asset, right? What a dope and he didn't know that I recorded my conversation.

He continued along the path and finally I asked him how the debt was secured, as far as I knew, credit cards are an unsecured instrument. He tries to steer the direction of the conversation and I just remain calm and repeat my wishes. He finally hangs up.

The idea behind collections is to get you worried, unnerved thru their threats and they get off on harassing people - what a wonderful life to live. They can call me all they want, I don't care and worry not about their attitude. Listen, in my line of work, I have been threatened - in person, by much tougher & meaner BIG people,   what can these collectors possibly do over the phone? Nothing but words - sticks & stones ...

If I ever get the money - which I will at some point, I'll pay the bill, I owe it but,  guarantee I'll negotiate it down to 50 cents or less on the dollar because here is the deal - they bought these debts for literally pennies on the dollar and they want a good return on their investment, so I'll give it to them under my terms. If they do not take it, I don't care - my credit has already taken the full hit for this problem and will BK them out and start over, so what - it is not life threatening.

Besides, I have kids and can put my all my future assets under their names and I KNOW there is not a damn thing they can do about it.

Bottom line - the "people" who call & harass are/were most likely:

    abused as a child
    the smallest in their class
    always picked on
the last one picked in any sporting activity
had to wear those funky, thick, black rimmed glasses with head straps
cannot get or purchase a date
have no life outside of Jerry Springer reruns
    fired from WalMart
left on someone's porch as an infant in the dead of winter
    have serious esteem issues
can be bully in the safety of an office of like minds. Outside they are spineless [***].
    have hygiene & dental issues
looking for love in all the wrong places - use your imagination

I think you get the point ... Fear Not ~

******Finally, thanks to the collection idiots of Allied who read this - I got you! ******
