Today I received a text msg asking me if I would like a $200 Gas Voucher. It provided a toll free number to call for details: 877-764-7978. I have received 6 different text messages this year, with similar promises. I called the number, the person on the other end with a foreign accent, claimed to work for "Central Rewards" and proceeds to tell me for a one-time fee of $2.95 I would get a $200 gas voucher, good anywhere. Sarcastically, I said that it sounds too good to be true! I asked him how I pay the $2.95 fee to get my voucher... Of course, he was willing to accept any major credit card. Unfortunately, when I reply STOP to opt out of these things, it does no good. Each time, the text msg with an amazing offer comes from a different number. All of them lead back to "Central Rewards"

    I would suggest disputing the charge with your bank.

    I was thinking that you may want to contact your state attorney general as well.

    I got dupped, so everyone listen!. Yes, they charge you the 2.95. Yep, no big deal, not going to break the bank, but to get the gas vouchers you have to agree to the crap on the message, because if you don't you won't get them. However, i was told on the phone by the Indian guy that I would have 30 days to cancel, but it says on the recording that you only have 7 days-- so watch out! You barely have enough time to get that stupid package-- which is just the entertainment savings books that schools sell for way cheaper as fund raisers and the one they send you is chinsy as hell. Anyways, total I got charged the 2.95 "processing fee" or whatever it is, 25.00 confirmation fee from Central Rewards and then the lovely folks tacked on a 49.95 for some magazine subscription [***] that isn't even mentioned! Grr, I didn't realize it was happening until I bounced from the 49.95 charge. Obviously it was not a charge that I was anticipating. All calls back to the first number redirect me to the Central Rewards folks in Florida (who refuse to refund my money, instead they would rather shove my recoding in my face). Honestly, if they needed my 75 bucks so bad, than [***] take it. If they can't make a buck with honest marketing practices and stand behind their products with a refund than they won't be in business long.

    Don't do it,...Just went through the ringer with this company to make sure that they do not charge any thing to my card.  As I was about to finish up with their little scam...I checked them out on the internet and I almost upchucked my dinner.  I called them 3X's and got hung up on until I told them I was an associate with PPL. This is a scam, TRUST Me.  They puah you too hard to make this 2.95 sale and then when you say Yes...they come in with the kill.  $39.95 only if you make the cancellation within 7 days. I am going to report them anyway...just in case I see something strange on my card. Remember...IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...IT IS PROBABLY A SCAM. BEWARE OF STRANGE GIFTS AND PRIZES COMING TO YOU FROM YOU CELL PHONES. DON'T EVEN CALL!!!!!

    Idiot.  It is so painfully obvious that you are one of their telemarketers. "free trial for their discounting service"
    Who in the USA speaks like that?
    and both Shenaya and Mark that I talked to were obviously in a call center somewhere in India.
    Multiple phone numbers with "reply to" numbers that are cell phones.  Hundreds of BBB complaints.  Texting repeatedly to numbers that are on the Do Not Call list, and to those who have asked you to stop.
    All of these things are federal violations, and if we all file suit, you will owe each of us thousands of dollars.

    Get a clue.

    There is no business incorporated in the state of Arizona with the name, or variation thereof, of Central Rewards.  The company we are all referring to is more than likely the Florida one.

    According to Florida public documents, the agent of Central Rewards, Inc., and most likely the owner, is listed in public documents as the following;

    Vincent Haydock
    2953 W Cypress Creek Rd#101
    Ft Lauderdale, FL 33309

    Be sure to thank him!  or serve him!

    I reported Central Rewards scam to my credit card company & filed a dispute of charges with them.  I see on my statement this week that all charges have been refunded and credited back to my credit card account!
    I've learned my lesson & will never get caught in such a ridiculous situation again!  Good luck to everyone else...wish we could run them out of business!!!

    My grandmother is so upset over this. She call a company and get these people instaed. She caught in time to cancel her credit card because she didn't have a good feeling but she was being harrassed by these people and they were yelling at at her and bullied her into saying yes. She is calling the Attourney General's Office today and hopefully this will stop people.
