Ashley Furniture in Frisco, TX -- Please do not buy from this company, they do bad business, the managers are down right nasty and mean. I placed an order on 5/11/07 for 5 pieces.

I was told it would be delivered in 14 days. On the day it was suppose to be delivered, no one showed up but I figured since it was a holiday, it would be the next day. The next day when no one showed up, I called the store and asked when it was to be delivered.

After getting shuffled back and forth to a bunch of rude people, I was finally told 1 piece of my order was on backorder until the end of July. Their policy apparently is that if one item is on backorder, they will not ship the rest unless you call and tell them to ship the rest of the stuff. They NEVER even called me to tell me that it was on backorder.....I had to call them.

So I decided to go into the store today and talk to a manager.....I shouldn't have wasted the gas and my time. He did not want to hear anything I had to say, told me my business was worthless and called me a B***H! I did not do anything to warant the kind of treatment I got from them, I kept my cool, did not raise my voice or anything.

So please, do not buy from them.....I work in customer service and I have never been treated so badly. No one deserves that...they do not care about the customer at all. All the want is your money....after you place the order, they drop the ball and could care less. All this heartache could have been avoided if only they would have called me to tell an item was on backorder......it was that simple.

    lady in waiting...
I love it!  They just pass the garbage around.  I woulnd't be at all surprise!

I too have had problems with Ashley.  They promised a delivery date which has come and gone.  I've called and called and gotten the run-around.  They did say it could take up to 8 weeks so I waited.  It's now into the 10th week.  I've called the store where I purchased and left a message for the manager to call me back the end of the week or I will cancel the order.  Getting a response from him doesn't look too promising, not after reading all the negative reviews on this store.

    Just bad management.

I also purchased a sofa set from Ashley Furniture and it has started to peel on the left side of the large sofa.  Yes, we were also told that the leather was 100% leather and after seeing how it's peeling real leather is not a true statement.

    disapointed
I bought an Ashley sofa and loveseat set from a dealer in the town I live in. We received it in mid-January and it is now early may and they are already showing signs of wear! The back cushions are sagging and the fabric is loose, and the seat cushions are becoming warped and mis-shaped. I expected alot better quality of product. Had I known they would be like this I would have kept my old furniture!

Same thing with me.  New Leather Couch and Recliner look like they are years old!  These items were just delivered 2 months ago!  I am so dissapointed in the quality of this junk.  The cushons are flat, the fabric is all wrinkled and loose and the recliners creek!!  Should have bought from Raymour & Flanigan!  Oh..and the color of the so-called leather is changing!?!?!?!?

Thanks for this forum and the comments. I was about to make a $20K purchase of furniture for my new house. I was not satisfied with how they treated me in the inception. I couldn't get the discount approved...had to wait on a "special" manager who happens to be on vacation and no one else has the authority to sign off. I'm so glad I canceled my order.

Ummmmm....I sorta don't buy your complaint.  I've purchased furniture from Ashley and at the time of purchase I asked about where it was housed until it could be delivered and was told then that the furniture is built at the time of order and therefore backorder issues aren't a problem.  My furniture was delivered within three weeks of ordering.

You were lied to... I work at a Ashley Retailer... NOT an Ashley Home Store and they warehouse all products... They are NOT make to order... Most of what they have is shipped from over-seas and NOT made in America... you may have just been the lucky one whose items were in stock, which is about 85% of the time depending on the season.  Around Tax season most popular items are out of stock.

We bought a furniture for office, dining room and family room from ashley furniture. The leather sectional we got from them, started peeling off within a year!! I did not immediately complain as I had never seen anything like that happen to leather in the past and besides we had paid $300 for a 5 year warranty. I called customer service at the insurance company (I think) and they said the 5 year insurance does not cover that!! Honestly, I am in a state of shock that a company could sell so much furniture and still be in business inspite of being so dishonest and stealing money from hardworking middle class people!! I am more surprised that this is happening in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!! Ashley furniture is ripping people by selling substandard furniture and the insurance company is taking the $200 or $300 and telling people that whatever problems they have are not covered under their plan. Nice Work!!

I had similar experiences with their store on 192 in Melbourne Fl.  Charged my credit card for two recliners, when I called on the delivery date they tell me they are no longer made.  Went to store, mgr refused to speak with me.

I have another of their recliners, the cable release broke, they say its not part of the mechanism and not warranted!  Tried to purchase through the store the recliner came from and got the wrong part twice.

I visited one of their stores here in Conroe, TX. I was surprised to learn that they actually prefer their customers not to haul their purchase(s). I thought maybe I could avoid delivery fee. Anyway, I walked away empty-handed. I also heard from one of our friends who purchased furnitures from the same store and never actually received them. Thanks for all your comments. I know now not to return to that place.

    Don't buy from Ashley
I bought a loveseat and three marble veneer tables in August 09 from Ashley Furniture in Arlington, TX. One of the table had a manufacture defect and I've tried for months to have it replaced but no success. First, they sent a technician to my house and he said there is not thing wrong with it, even after I've showed him the gaps between the marbles and that I can see the wood surface...of course, he is Ashley's employee. They told me to send them the picture of the defects after I've contacted their Customer Service repeatedly and I did sent them few pictures, but they haven't responsed yet. I doubt that they ever will. If you want to buy any furniture from Ashley, make sure you pick it up. Ashley Furniture Stores in DFW were owned by the same family and they are succeeding by ripping people off. I may stuck with few hundred dollars table but they'll loss thousands from me.

same thing, sounds like i got lucky though cause they gave me my money back when i took the kitchen table and chairs back to them.  i would have gotten a replacement if the manager lady at the chillicothe, oh DFW haddnt been so rude.  i told her it wasnt my fault that the table was broken and she said it wasnt her fault either.  when i took the table back she again started talking to me like i was a 10 yr old and i told her that was exactly why i wanted my money back and why i would never buy anything from them again.  her response to that was "good, cause i dont like dealing with you anyways"  worst customer service ive ever experienced.  thought it was just dfw...good to know it is all of ashley furniture.

We've had a helluva time with these people
it took forever to get our furniture and it arrived damaged. Now I have to wait another two weeks for a cushion cover.
There was a crack in the table we just saw now I have to pay to get another so that's another two weeks
They have been lying about this promotion they have. If you spend $4999 you qualify for a 42" tv.
We've been trying to get it for almost four weeks. Best Buy can never seem to Find the paperwork
reason being Ashley Furniture has never sent it.
We got stories like: the delivery people haven't turned in your ticket, or we show your furniture delivery isn't complete.
They just never closed the ticket. It was still on someones desk.
I asked if they could put a rush on the glass. I was told you'll get when it arrives here and you can pick it up.
They're customer service is the rudest. This is the Frederick Maryland store.
Their customer service manager is the worst!
I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
    They suck!

We recently purchased a bedroom set from Ashley Furniture in Austin, Texas. Upon paying in full we were given a delivery date. The day of delivery we were called with a 30 minute delivery notice. 16 hours later we received the furniture after several misleading phone calls. The furniture was damaged, not scratches or dents but holes! We contacted management in which they set a delivery day to replace the items a week later. That delivery date has come and gone. After contacting customer service we were told the soonest the items could be delivered would be a month later but no guarantee. It has been one problem and one promise after another and as of yet no solution, no customer service, no quality and just not worth the pain. DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE!!!!!!

I bought a bedroom set from Ashley in Katy,Texas.  I paid for it in full. I was told that it would be ordered immediately.  After a month, I called to see what was going on only to find out that it had not even been ordered.  Once they ordered it, they told me it take approx.3 wks. After another month I called only to be told it was on back order and would be in 2 weeks later. 3 weeks later I called to be told that it would be delivered on that saturday. I waited, and waited, and waited.  I received no call and no furniture. I called the next day to be told that they guarantee that I would have my furniture the next day which was monday. Again, I took off work, I waited, and waited, and waited..no call..no furniture.  I called the next day to be told that some pieces were still on back order.  It has been almost 4 months now.  I have missed several days of week being given false delivery dates. Everyone at this company lies and tell you anything to appease you at the moment.  I might as well have taken the $2,500 I spent on a bed and ripped it to pieces.  PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY....THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAM ARTIST! I work hard for my money and the economy is rough. When you make a purchase, the general idea is to actually receive the merchandise!!!  NOT THE CASE HERE...I ONLY WISHED I HAD READ UPON THIS COMPANY BEFORE MAKING A PURCHASE!
