Royal Holiday sold us a time share on the agreement that they would purchase my existing time share. We made it perfectly clear to them that this entire deal was contingent upon the purchase of our time share and that we could not afford it otherwise. They made guarantees that our time share would be purchased within 180 days from the time we signed. We then took their advice and opened an account with RCI that would give us 6 months of no payments and no interest with the understanding that it needed to be paid in full before 6 months were up to avoid any interest. No problem we thought since we had a guarantee from them to buy our time share.

After we got home, we did not hear back from anyone for months so I called Royal Holiday numerous times only to be ignored time and time again. I then decided to call the company that was going to purchase our time share (Gene Cantrell from International Leisure Group)only to have him blow off my calls for weeks. Through persistence and numerous calls, I finally got a hold of Mr. Cantrell only to have him tell me that he was in trouble with the IRS and that he hoped to get it cleared up soon. I called a representative from Royal Holiday to let them know that this did not look like it would happen and that I wanted out of the deal. They said they would find someone else to purchase my time share and would get back to me within 24 hours. I heard nothing for weeks. I then started calling daily until Joe Harrison from Royal Holiday finally told me that Mr Cantrell and International Leisure group was back on track and would be purchasing my time share days before the 180 day deadline. When I called Mr. Cantrell to confirm, he told me that he was still trying to work it out and he was hopeful that he could make this happen. Both were lies. Neither company called back, and my 6 month deadline came and went with no returned calls. The problem was now that the loan was due and needed to be paid in full, along with interest for the past 6 months since we missed the deadline.
It is very obvious that both Royal Holiday and International Leisure group colluded to string me along so I would be forced to pay the extra charges and give me little chance of getting out of this contact.

I then started talking with Joe Harrison from Royal Holiday about terminating my contract due to the fact it was rendered void when they could not honor their guarantee to purchase my time share. Mr Harrison seemed sincere at first, but that quickly turned into the same run around that I had already grown used to. He promised calls from supervisors, promised to find a new buyer for my old time share, and then finally promised to come up with a new deal. Of course, all of this has taken 3 months and still nothing. Mr Harrison promised me a final resolve on Aug 1st only to tell me the person he needed to speak to was on vacation and he would need a few more days. After a few more days passed, he again promised to have an answer for me by Aug 8th, knowing I was leaving the country on the 10th. Today is the 22nd and still no call. I tried calling Mr Harrison today only to have the office number ring endlessly and his cell number is now disconnected.

This company is the most crooked company I have ever dealt with. If you ever go to Puerto Vallarta, stay away from the Los Tules resort where you will find the following people doing business under the name of Royal Holiday, Travel Experience, or Concord Servicing Corporation:

There are many more names to list but these were the ones that made the promises and then failed to deliver. Do your research and you will see that Royal Holiday is a not a company you can trust, nor are the properties they represent.

    My parents bought into the Royal Holiday Club at the Park Royal in Cancun back in 1988. It was a "weeks" system, not points.  It is still part of the weeks program. They paid the $9,495 total price at the time they purchased it.  They bought the Presidential Suite.  All that had to be paid after that was the annual maintenance fee.  When my Dad passed away my mom gave it to me, I paid the (then) $350 fee to have it transferred to my name.  This was around 1998.  The annual maintenance fee at that time was around $400.   There are 8 years left on this 30 year program.  After that, it's done.   I am now 64, unemployed for 2 years, and can't afford the now-doubled annual maintenance fee of $885.   I have tried unsuccessfully to tell them that I'm giving the remaining 8 years back to them that they can do with as they want, which they say I can't do.  I've tried to sell it, rent it, and actually give it away.  No one wants it.  Additionally, when my parents purchased it and when it was transferred to me, there was no all inclusive.  There was a kitched in the condo.  Now it's mandatory to pay the all-inclusive fee, and the kitchen was removed.  As far as I'm concerned this is NOT what my parents/I bought.  Does anyone have this weeks program?  It's really different than the points program.  Has anyone just walked away from the annual maintenance fee who's on the weeks program?  I just don't have the money to pay it.

    You sound just like many of the Royal Holiday agents who tried to sell their vacation package full of lies; What you posted is the exactly response that I got from Royal Holiday when i sent them my cancellation, No kidding, they treated me like I'm an idiot.

    Don't embarrassed yourself for the pennies that Royal Holiday pays you.

    Please add me to the list we need to band I together and profile their scams and illegal sales practices; enough of this company and lies; their activity and protect the public at large ( American and International).  gddavis@verizon.net I am going to start this campaign against Royal Holiday and I am building a list now and compiling all complaints,so thepublic can judge and they can be held accountable. I will be presenting this to my Elected officials in CA and the media at a press release inthe next few months.

    Royal Holiday Club is an international institution that is dedicated to scam many people all over the world.  I am one of the following people that have been robbed by this particular club. I went for holidays to  Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) on December 7,2009. I stayed at the hotel Bavaro Princess for the time being. When I was in the lobby of the hotel I met a sales person that worked for Royal Holiday club, he also said that Royal Holiday Club was a part of the hotel; he then invited us to his office. When we arrived to their office they served us wine and all kinds of alcoholic’s drinks.  They made sure that we were completely drunk, so then they started talking about business, telling us how successful they are in their tourist industry. They talked so innocently that we believed everything that they have said to us.  They brain washed us until we decided to buy from them for what they call timeshares or holidays for life.

    We bought the membership from them and we paid more than $3000.00USD.  These thieves told me that we can cancel the membership in 20 days if I am not pleased with the purchase. When I arrived to Canada I realized that I have been robbed by this company then me immediately I contacted them by sending register mail but they never responded.  I am a victim that has been robbed like the other millions of North Americans that are in the same position as me.

    I tried to contact the Dominican Republic authorities and I have mentioned them of the scam that is running in their country, but their was no use complaining because they didn’t do anything about it. And then called the Ministry of tourist and Dominican Republic, but is the same thing they told me that they are doing an investigation about this company.  I do not know if they will get my money back.

    The government of Canada should put signs of travel warnings to countries like Dominican Republic and Mexico in all airports to prevent this from happening to Canadian citizens.

    Royal Holiday salespersons are   doing very illegal acts such us giving alcohol to the tourist so they can get drunk and then take all their money  ….these people for the greed of money they can do anything in order to get the tourists attraction…what if they  would serve you alcohol with drugs ….this is possible because what they do is a crime and the government should do something about it…THIS IS A CRIME. CRIME…    These people are despicable.  These criminals are getting away with this  dirty business ...there is no  government in this world to take this company down….why do these  criminals continue in this kind of business like nothing  is happening .They are destroying people  lives and the Dominican Republic authorities do know what is going on in their country so why they don’t protect the tourists ….we go there we spent  the money that we used to have in Dominican Republic and what we get is screwed by your own people shame on your country pure shame.

    And also they have their partner which is CONCORD SERVICES CORP.

    He posteado el 27 de mayo un comentario hacerca de esta compania y lo que me ha ocurrido en mi viaje a cancun luego de aceptar mi membresia y cancelarla en las proximas 48 hs. Luego de una disputa Royal Holiday acepto la misma y reembolso en su totalidad el monto de dinero depositado. Dicho deposito fue efectuado en el mes de octubre del 2010.

    Hi!

    I was one of those foolish people too. Now try to get my money back as well. I live in Finland and it seems to be a bit difficult to get them back because of the contract - which bases on a lie though. Theres contract frauds as well we discovered so we believe everything goes well after all. I live in Europe and its my security 'sort of' - its quite strict here and I hope it will help me through this mess... and I believe in God :) - so I think theres nothing to be considered about.
