This Company Is A Fraud

Royal Holiday sold us a time share on the agreement that they would purchase my existing time share. We made it perfectly clear to them that this entire deal was contingent upon the purchase of our time share and that we could not afford it otherwise. They made guarantees that our time share would be purchased within 180 days from the time we signed. We then took their advice and opened an account with RCI that would give us 6 months of no payments and no interest with the understanding that it needed to be paid in full before 6 months were up to avoid any interest. No problem we thought since we had a guarantee from them to buy our time share.
After we got home, we did not hear back from anyone for months so I called Royal Holiday numerous times only to be ignored time and time again. I then decided to call the company that was going to purchase our time share (Gene Cantrell from International Leisure Group)only to have him blow off my calls for weeks. Through persistence and numerous calls, I finally got a hold of Mr. Cantrell only to have him tell me that he was in trouble with the IRS and that he hoped to get it cleared up soon. I called a representative from Royal Holiday to let them know that this did not look like it would happen and that I wanted out of the deal. They said they would find someone else to purchase my time share and would get back to me within 24 hours. I heard nothing for weeks. I then started calling daily until Joe Harrison from Royal Holiday finally told me that Mr Cantrell and International Leisure group was back on track and would be purchasing my time share days before the 180 day deadline. When I called Mr. Cantrell to confirm, he told me that he was still trying to work it out and he was hopeful that he could make this happen. Both were lies. Neither company called back, and my 6 month deadline came and went with no returned calls. The problem was now that the loan was due and needed to be paid in full, along with interest for the past 6 months since we missed the deadline.
It is very obvious that both Royal Holiday and International Leisure group colluded to string me along so I would be forced to pay the extra charges and give me little chance of getting out of this contact.
I then started talking with Joe Harrison from Royal Holiday about terminating my contract due to the fact it was rendered void when they could not honor their guarantee to purchase my time share. Mr Harrison seemed sincere at first, but that quickly turned into the same run around that I had already grown used to. He promised calls from supervisors, promised to find a new buyer for my old time share, and then finally promised to come up with a new deal. Of course, all of this has taken 3 months and still nothing. Mr Harrison promised me a final resolve on Aug 1st only to tell me the person he needed to speak to was on vacation and he would need a few more days. After a few more days passed, he again promised to have an answer for me by Aug 8th, knowing I was leaving the country on the 10th. Today is the 22nd and still no call. I tried calling Mr Harrison today only to have the office number ring endlessly and his cell number is now disconnected.
This company is the most crooked company I have ever dealt with. If you ever go to Puerto Vallarta, stay away from the Los Tules resort where you will find the following people doing business under the name of Royal Holiday, Travel Experience, or Concord Servicing Corporation:
Enrique Soto (Sales Manager Los Tules Resort, Puerto Vallarta 011-52-322-224-8211) , Luis Machado (Salesman Los Tules Resort, Puerto Vallarta mhi1500@msn.com 011-52-322-224-8211 xt107), Rosario Alvarado (Presenter Los Tules Resort, Puerto Vallarta 011-52-322-224-8211) Joe Harrison (Royal Holiday Customer Service Manager jharrison@royal-holiday.com
011-52-322-224-8211 xt224, 011-52-322-145-2164 Cell) Rose (Royal Holiday Customer Service Center 800-961-1810 xt2607)
Gene Cantrell (International Leisure Group, 5210 E. Williams Circle Suite 700-A, Tucson AZ 85711 520-407-6359 internationalleisuregroup.com)
There are many more names to list but these were the ones that made the promises and then failed to deliver. Do your research and you will see that Royal Holiday is a not a company you can trust, nor are the properties they represent.

Twelve days after, when we got back and realized we couln´t afford this purchase, we tried to cancel, no one from Mayan Palace accepted our Cancelation petition.
although our five days were up and didn´t have the waiver, we contacted a Law Firm who specializes in timeshare fraud and within 15 days we were able to get our Down payment back. the link is www.GonzalezGonzalezLawFirm.com
Ask for Cindy. She was very proffessional and empathetic. Hope they can help you with your issues.
Best Regards!!!

very large directory they gave us. After 3 days we went back and to cancel and were told we couldn't because we signed up ujnder "a special promotion". No where in our paper work was this stated, as well as never told to us vebally. We had been told over and over we could cancel. Later these crooks told us it "was a training issue and there sales people had made a mistake, but of course we still weren't allowed to cancel. They can and harass constantly. Not only R.H. but also Concord Servicing. Payments for the balance were to come out of out AM EX card. We disputed these pymts and AM EX supported our side. I will not pay these scam artists another cent. I was recently notified that another associate company, Meridain Collections is attempting to collect. It isn't just that we were not allowed to cancel it is everything else we were told or promised was a lie. Please help us MAYER3580@msn.com

I have to say that the stories I have read so far are true in every sense of the word. My wife and I was in Cancun and approached for a free trip to the mexican ruins.Of course it all sounded great but we had to set in on this presentation first. Free lunch was offered before the presentation, as was a few other incidentals for being patient (or was it to gain your trust?). For whatever reason it was all in the works for the biggest scam I have ever come across.
The presentation was as expected til the end when we said we could not afford to buy another vacation package because we were tapped out on timeshares. That opened the door for them to offer to sell our timeshare and that would pay for the new one with Royal Holiday. The salesman was good with his wording and got us to sign with the understanding they would have our original timeshare sold in the time set, about 3 months. We would receive a check that we were to endorse and send to them. We would receive our down payment back and would be the proud owners of the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Oh, they did everything they could, anniversary dinner, suite in their hotel, all amenities included, and a number of other promises along the way. Get us past the cancellation period at all costs.
They even went as far as to make sure my daughter got booked in New York, but only because they did all the bookings cause we could not get it done. OH YES, THEY MADE SURE WE PAID OUR MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR THE YEAR BY CHARGING OUR CERDIT CARD WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION.
Now, that all said, comes the kicker. They tried to charge the balance of the contract on our credit card but fortunately I had suggested to my wife that she cancel that credit card. We are so glad we did. They did nothing to sell our other timeshare (and we are so happy about that cause that one is a good timeshare and one we still use with great success.) but are trying to collect with calls and sidestepping the fact the sales staff are out to fraudulently sell plans under false pretense.
After todays phone call from Royal Holiday finance department, and their request for payment I said I was going to log onto the internet for scams. They got nervous and said, "Why would you want to do that?". Well, I went down the list and included FRAUD. That got their attention. He was going to call the salesperson and get back to me Saturday. We'll see what that brings.
Now I know why they get nervous. Thanks for sharing and I will keep all of you posted. Please send fraud report form to richreolee@aol.com

I saw your email regarding Royal Holiday scam. Did you have any luck? My friend and I are in the same boat and are trying to find a way to recoup our money or at least stopping further payments. It happend to us May 2009 in the Bahamas.
Thank you!
JUST A FOLLOW-UP ON OUR EARLIER POSTING.
THE BATTLE CONTINUES WITH ROYAL HOLIDAY. THEY DON'T WANT TO ADMIT ANY WRONG DOING. WHAT A SURPRISE. AND THE LIES CONTINUE AS WELL. WE SENT THEM REGISTERED MAIL, SHOWING CANCELLATION DUE TO NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH ON THEIR PROMISES WHICH CREATES A NULL AND VOID CONTRACT BETWEEN US. BUT, ADMITTEDLY, THEY SAY THEY NEVER GOT IT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A RECEIPT FROM THE POST OFFICE.
WE HAVE A COMPANY WORKING ON THIS WITH US AND ROYAL HOLIDAY SAYS THEY HAVE HAD NO CONTACT WITH THAT COMPANY. YA! RIGHT! YOU CAN ADD OUR NAME TO THE LIST FOR A CLASS ACTION SUIT AND I AM IN HOPES A LOT OF OTHERS WILL JOIN IN TO DO AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF PRACTICE.
THANKS, RICH
Please send me any infomration you can to ashondadunbar@gmail.com. I appreciate it.
I cannot say who I am because I got(50%)of my money back. Write to the tourist board of Aruba & the Aruba Goverment. Just look up all the members of each, you'll find most of them by googling them. Send them emails every week, about how this company is really bad for tourism etc.
We had same experience all seem to have share. Nightmarish and that's inadequate, actually. Couldn't get out of it when we finally got book and contract, then couldn't log on or reach any of the sales people who sold this to us and we finally paid a company to take it from us. We literally had to pay thousands to get someone to take the title/deed off our hands. They were in business to do just this. That was our only recourse and we had tried everything to exhaution. At least we do not have the maintenance and it does not go to our children when something happens to us. They won't be paying this ever increasing maintenance cost, much less find out they can't book rooms when they want or get the rooms which they were promised.
