I own Dirt Devil vacuum and the belt broke, so I went directly to dirtdevil.com to order a replacement. On they site they promiss to process all orders within 1-2 business days - I have placed my order on August 9 and it was shipped only on August 24 !!!!! and I got it only on August 31.

And when I finaly got it, I found that they send me wrong size belt - not the one I have ordered !!!

I WAS NOT ABLE TO VACCUM MY CARPETS FOR ALMOST 1 MONTH !!! And now according to their policy I have to ship that belt back to them on my own expence and wait for the refund for 3 weeks and they are still not returning me money I paid for shipment !!!

I baugh a dirt devil power stick vac for my hardwood floors and i am so disapointed. this was my first Vacume purchase and i went with a known name. The thing can hardly pick crumbs and cat hair off my floor ! let alone the little carpet i have at my front door. I HATE THIS PRODUCT !  i emailed them to complain. i can't wait to see what they offer or don't offer for my suffering. MARK MY WORDS ! if i do not get an answer i will email them every day and call every day until i get something.

i baught a dirt devil to clean the crubs and cat hair off my kitchen and living room hardwood floors and it works like SH*T ! it doesnt even suck up little cat hairs. so maybe you just got lucky. I paid 50$ for my product i knew i wasnt buying the cadilacs of vacumes here but i still expected it to pick up the crumbs and cat hair. Its a complete disgrace when the Swiffer vacume picks up more then the Dirt devil does !

I PURCHASED A DIRT DEVIL VACUUM FROM TARGET RECENTLY AND MUST TELL YOU THAT WHEN YOU MADE PRODUCT F28 FILTER TYPE, YOU RALLY GOOFED.  I WAS ATTRACTED TO THIS MODEL BECAUSE OF THE BEAUTY OF DESIGN.  IT WAS SILVER, STREAM-LINEDE, AND SLEEK.  THE ONE THING THAT IS WRONG ABOUT IT IS THAT IT DOES NOT PICK UP DIRT.

I CHECK THE FILTER BUT IT IS CLEAN BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUCTION IN THIS MACHINE. I HAVE ALWAYS  USED DIRT DEVIL PRODUCTS AND HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY SATISFIED UNTIL NOW. iHAVE HAD YOUR LITTLE RED CANNISTER VACUUM FOR YEARS AND IT IS AN EXCELLENT TOOL.

I DESERVE TO BE CREDITED FOR THE PURCHASE PRICE  OF THIS LEMON!!!!

I ordered filters for my Scorpion .  I paid for it by mastercard.  The order was the exact filter for my machine as i Had ordered it 3 times previously.  they sent me the wrong filters.  I returned them with an explanation as to the error.  No response.   Now 10 days later, I called to investigate where my filters were.  First of all, I was talking with a person who did not speak English very well.  After 15 minutes, I was transferred to a person by the name of John.  He just was so rude to me.
All I wanted was my correct filter.  If not, a refund.  No resolution.
Dirt Devil sucks when it comes to customer service.  I will try other means to get the filters or get the refund in the amount of $17.78

Well, I'm going to break Dirt Devil's losing streak by saying that my Dynamite vac works.  There are no belt problems yet and shouldn't have any for a while.  It cleans carpets and floors well and is light.  For the people complaining about belt problems with their Dirt Devils, there are Dysons and other vacs that have lifetime belts.  To who I am assuming is a vac distributor, You shouldn't insult vacuum consumers like that.  You can easily lose customers like that.
I do hope that Dirt Devil consumers do get a quality product.  No vac should break down within 6 years.

Have you tried searching Wal-Mart or a vacuum store for a filter?  It may be easier to get it directly from a store.

Have you tried the Eureka 4 in 1 stick vac?  It works great on floors and is available at Wal-Mart.  I have one and it picks up cat litter, hair, dust, and dirt with no problem.

They are actually now made by TTI Floor Care North America.  That may explain things.

Sounds like some idiot used it, screwed it up, put it in its box, and shipped it.  New vacs are never like that.

Somebody half-assed that belt probably.  Try getting a genuine replacement belt for it.  If that fails, buy a generic belt for it.

I PURCHASED A HAND HELD DIRT DEVIL MODEL BD10100, ROYAL.
WHEN I STOP VACUUMING THE DIRT FALLS BACK OUT OF THE PICK UP NOZZEL, NOT GOOD. I WAS GOING TO RETURN IT BUT I INVENTED A FIX. I RECOMMEND ALL OF THIS AND THE NEXT LARGER MODEL BE RECALLED. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE REPAIR, CONTACT ME AT JERIC12592@AOL.COM

My old Dirt Devil was a dream until it just wore out.  When I used the new one for the third time it developed a sore wheel that squeaked.  Still I could use it.  Now the start-stop pedal swings and does nothing.   This is after i had already decided that the new small hand dirt devil was less than useless - will hold about as much as an eggshell before it has to be emptied...and then try to get the 'nose' off is a trial by itself.  Never again...

My complaint is completely different from most Dirt Devil owners.   That is that the vacuum hose keeps slipping out of it's slot.   I'll be vacuuming along and notice it is just hanging loose and of course any dust, lint, dirt that I vacuum up just goes right back into the room.  I agree that the machine is heavy and hard to manipulate.   Wish I had stuck with the Hoover or Oreck Brands.   I'll be watchful for the problems others have written about.

I purchased an upright vac. from Canadian tire about 10 days ago at the cost of $99.99. A week later it went on sale for $49.99. That stung!
I only discovered this when I went to return the dirtdevil vac. due to it having an electrical fault. It just does not start at all.
I was told by Canadian tire to send to Dirt devil for a label for free shipping to send it back to manufacturer for repairs.
I have just came off the phone to Royal/dirtdevil after my 3rd. call to them.  In each call I was asked for all the info. and told my call would be transferred to the corporate office. Then the line would go dead or a weird shrill sound came on or like the last call I was held on listening to music for a long time. I gave up.  I am in my seventies and on a limited income and this is now a real problem for me as I cannot just run out and get a new vacuum.
What can we all do? Just take this disservice laying down and let them get away with it? We need to have a platform like this and others to speak out and let dirtydevil know we dissatisfied customers and will pass on our bad experiences to others. Their bad business practise needs to be exposed.

I tried again today to get through to dirtdevils corporate office for a label for free shipping as advised by Canadian tire. This time I was connected to a couple of pleasant agents who did try to help me.  I was told that providing free shipping labels is not correct and she gave me the name of the nearest service dealer in Canada to take the product too.  So I called their number and they said they do not handle dirtdevil warranties or repairs as they won't send them the  parts ..and any they did send were after an eight month wait.
She said dirtdevil keeps sending customers to them even though they have informed them they are not servicing their products anymore. She also said something very good to know...dirtdevil does not have warranties in Canada.
    So buyer beware.

I've had my Dirt Devil Vision for over a year and during that time it has never picked up dirt, I have to go over & over the same spot but it never picks up hair or other bits of lint.  I will NEVER own another Dirt Devil as long as I live!!!  Back to Hoover for me.

I have a Dirt Devil Envision and I thought it was an ok vacuum but damnit I have bought @ least 6 belts within the last 3 months! I dont vacuum up sharp objects, paper, etc... So here's my ? WTH!!! It is frustating to say the least!!! I put on the new belt (yes it is the right one) and turn on my vac...and within like 2 minutes the belts busted!  Theres no hair caught up in the bristle's, no broke pieces where the belt goes....UGH Wal-mart wont replace ... after reading all these complaints maybe thats why Dirt Devil sell's them there Hmmmmmmmmmm
