I got a call from telephone 603 214 3523 offering work from home processing 3d party mortgages for the sum of $69.00 plus $10.00 postgage.  I didn't get a chance to check the internet to confirm this was a scam; I asked where they got my name and they said I requested information on internet to work from home.  I had requested information about government grants to study, buy a home or establish a business and was guided to Grant Search Guide as the only valid site for this type of information.  GMI got my telephone number from Grant Search Guide and now I am trying to stop the $79 payment by cancelling the order and I can't reach a live person at the 603 number so I went on the internet and got a 971 285 3130 and called to cancel my order but was not able to get a live person and left a message.  Anyone, can you tell me if you get your money back once you realize this is a scamming game from another valid enterprise in the US??  concerned.

I just got an automated call from GMI at 818-870-8193 and after negotiating their maze talked with "Barbie" who told me they were located in Portland, Oregon.  She also said GMI was "hired by the Government".  I asked for the government contract number and she didn't know what it was (surprise).  In my opinion representing themselves as actual US Government contractors crosses the line between the normal worthless 'work-at-home' scams and outright fraud. It amazes me when people like the GMI cabal can rip off honest people who may be down on their luck.  How do they sleep at night?

I just received a call from them and I asked the straight forward if they were a scam and she tried to explain to me about their money back guarantee.  I did not purchase anything, because i have been scammed several times, and I always go online to check it out first.  I am very glad to have found this site because I do not have money to waist.

I too just got a call (971-285-3130) on Friday, I asked if they had a website and the rep said no (Hmm… that’s strange, what kind of legit business doesn't have a website these days?)  She said I could go to Better Business Bureau for a review, well I know anyone can pay the $19.99 fee and post a review on BBB's website so that was a clue right there. I have no idea how they got my number but after reading this site I have decided to opt out and not call them back. Thanks all!!

I feel like an idiot.  I asked the question, How do I know you're who you say you're are?  I didn't follow my instincts. Do you really think they would try to get other funds? I read some of the manuel.  How am I supposed to make money if I have to lay out so much cash to get started?

i just wanted to make some extra money. Do you know of a safe work at home site?

I just got the call at work. At some point I'll learn that when something sounds too good to be true, it always is. Fortunately, I didn't go for this one.

Thank you all for your need to tell others about this, it sure has helped me deside NOT to do it.

I'm a stay@home mum wanting to make a few extra buck, to try to help out with the bills.  I also have my own buiness with a health and wellness company and wanted to earn more money until it really kicked off the ground (i'm getting commisions now, but wanted more).

I have had GMI phone me more the 1/2 a dozen times.  I even told my husband about it and he said that I should look into it b4 I give them the money.

They just called me, and I almost gave them $79.  Luckly a little voice inside my head said "Don't do it!"  And ppl say that hearing voices inside your head is a bad sign...

    istreet,

what kind of work are you looking for?  I have my own health and wellness business, that I work from home, but you also get to go out and meet a lot of new ppl.  You do need to make some short term sacrifices for long term gains, but I am loving what I do and have enjoyed having the old me back (the VPs I know say that we are a personal growth company disguised as a health and wellness company).  I am trained by the #1 income earner in the company.  If you want to know some more info, let me know.

Wow, they called me today I ask too many questions for them too! It's a shame people can get your information like that and they know how hard times are for people, and they take advantage of people trying to get by. Hope everything works out in your favor.

On July 24, 2008, I too was contacted by a GMI Rep. from a (909)842-8157#, to work as a third party processing refunds to people who has paid their mortgage off and are due a refund. I was told about a list of names I will need to get to contact the people. I also was quoted a yearly income of $38,923.00 and a weekly income between $400-800 a week, for a fee of $69.00 , and then ask what credit card I would like to use. I  informed the Rep. that I would be contacting the BBB.  and ask for the name's, and phone # of the company. I was give: Government Mortgage Insurance Co.(GMI)Enterprise of Portland, Oregon (971)285-3130. I called the local BBB and put in the phone # that was given to me. There was no listing for that phone #. I called the Rep back to let him know about the BBB finding, he said that was the only # he had. And NO I DIDN'T GIVE HIM MY CREDIT CARD #

If you think about it, there are so many foreclosures out there, that who has the money to pay off their loans.  Not too many I would think.  I got a call too while I as on the Internet. I put the lady on hold and did research and found this website.  I figured it was a scam, since my cell phone is on the do not call list and it is now used for business purposes.
