I got a call from telephone 603 214 3523 offering work from home processing 3d party mortgages for the sum of $69.00 plus $10.00 postgage.  I didn't get a chance to check the internet to confirm this was a scam; I asked where they got my name and they said I requested information on internet to work from home.  I had requested information about government grants to study, buy a home or establish a business and was guided to Grant Search Guide as the only valid site for this type of information.  GMI got my telephone number from Grant Search Guide and now I am trying to stop the $79 payment by cancelling the order and I can't reach a live person at the 603 number so I went on the internet and got a 971 285 3130 and called to cancel my order but was not able to get a live person and left a message.  Anyone, can you tell me if you get your money back once you realize this is a scamming game from another valid enterprise in the US??  concerned.

I just this moment received a phone call from GMI Enterprises (Web address: www.refundhelp.net).  My question was why would I pay someone to give me a list which I would have to later return?  Further to pay them for it?   My other question, why would the government hire such a company to refund checks?  Speaking with a rep and since I had so many questions, the fellow hung up on me.  It sounded too good to be true.   There are so many people out of work or will be and we have the vultures out there who make prey of people who somehow do not or don't know how to seek the validity of such companies.  BUYER BE WARE!

I don't see why this is a problem.  Send it back if you don't like it.  So far I have run into any problems with GMI.

I have a web site you can go to for a refund, www.refundhelp.net, or call 1-503-946-5949. I was thinking about doing this untill I saw all the complaints. I am not sure if this is a legit company or not but so far I have found very little good things about it. I hope this will help.

I shoud have gone to the web site from the start but I waited until I had completed the transaction over the phone before googling this info. Thanks everyone from the info, they almost had me. Times are hard and I don't have the funds to waste.

This company is not really a scam, but it is a bad company, the reason you have to pay for the list is deniability. You become the scammer to unknowing homeowners. The government DOES NOT pay you, basically YOU keep a homeowners government refund check, until the homeowner pays you money to give them there check. You become a TRACER!!!

I was so excited about finally getting a job. I jumped at the offer without even looking into it. After I thought about it, the next day I Goggled GMI and all these scam reports came up. I copied down all the numbers that different people had called and I finally got a lve person. I asked that my money be refunded and they gave me another number to call. I called 1-(503)946-5949, I immeditally spoke with a live person. I explained my problem to the person and she told me my funds would be put back by the end of the bussineess day.  It's three days later and I still have not received my money. If I do some how get my money back ,I will let you guys know.  We all need to be more careful...

If you paid with your credit card call them and tell them what happened. Tell them this a scam and they should delete it.

They said all I have to do is send back the package rather than the sheet they first said to send since I never ordered any lists.  I am looking today to see if I got all but the 10S&H back on my credit card.  It's still a waste of $10.  They'd make a lot of money off just the $10 from enough people or the $69 from people who just do nothing.  I am trying to find if anyone really does these refunds and makes money.

I got the call, got the operator's name & company name, she would provide no further info like their address.  I told her wanted mine,so I wanted hers.  She hung up. I then searched GMI Enterprises & came up with this complaintwire website,so glad it's here.  I called the local BBB, they said that since this goes across state lines, the Federal Trade Commission handles these complaints.  If you haven't filed one, even tho I see that some of this info is "old," DO IT.  Go to ftc.gov, in the upper right hand corner is a "file a complaint" box, you then go to the Complaint Adviser, answer some questions but at the end, you can write a narrative up to 3500 characters.  Mine was about 990, including providing a link to this complaint wire website.  If the FTC gets enuf complaints & INFO from all of us, these dirtbags will at minimum have a pay a hefty fine & perhaps could be forced to go out of business all together.  Keep any & all records about your contact with both GMI & the FTC.  And good luck to all of you who are trying to get your money back, I really hope you do.

I recieved a call from GMI Enterprise as well and from experience I've learned NEVER BUY ANYTHING BY PRESURE SALES!!!! Doing your own research on any company can save you hundreds of investment dollars.  1-971-285-3130 is a call center, I believe. 1-503-946-5949 is another number I found that leads to the Portland, OR company itself. REFUNDHELP.NET is the recorded information I received from the 503 number, hope this all helps.         A few things to watch/listen for on scams or bogus deals...OFFER ONLY GOOD DURING THIS PHONE CALL, NEED YOUR CREDIT CARD NOW, NO WEBSITE, UNWILLING TO GIVE YOU THEIR PHONE NUMBER OR BUSINESS LICENSE NUMBER (for your research-altho a BL no. means nothing sometimes ). Best wishes all!

In order to build a business you must make some investment, it does,nt seem to me that there is that much of a charge. If you go to huds website you will see that it is a valid refund. My only fear is that once you make the home owner aware of their refund they make take on that mission themselves. I have the package but have'nt made up my mind yet,if anyone has anything positive to say about gmi and has worked the program please alert me

After receiving this wonderful path to the 21st Century, I'm beginning to wonder if this new technology is a blessing or a curse. I see now, if they can't get to you by computer, they will surely try the old phone. These people have no fear of GOD or man! They'll lie straight to GOD Himself for a dollar. Anymore, I listen to the story, and look them up on the internet, making them wait for me to tell them, no. And, they are so polite as they lie! I've learned how to appreciate the delete button almost as I do the neatly placing the receiver in it's holder.

I just got a call from them and hit this web site while on the phone. Thanks, I did not order. However, if you call your card co and dispute the charge, you should have no problem getting the money back.

I was contacted today, March 25th, 2009.  I spoke to them for 15 minutes.  I asked over thirty questions and for a call back number which the rep gave me (971-285-3130) and a customer service number (503-946-5949).  The location of the call center was Portland, Oregon.  The name of the company that hired the call center was Focus Services.  I gave them my credit card number and told them to wait until April 3rd to charge the $79.95.  I will call the bank tomorrow and tell them the charge is fraudulent and the company is a scam.  I also wanted to let everyone know that C-Span 2 had hearings on the unfair practices of coampanies such as these.  I watched the hearings for 1 1/2 hours last night.  The country is rampant with scams as well as pay-day loan places charging as much as 38% interest.  Should anyone want to report this GMI Enterprises LLC to Representative Bobby Rush/ Dem Illinois/ Chairman of the Commerce Sub Committee on Consumer Protection or Christopher Peterson Atty. for Public Interst Group
for the US. and consumer rights attorney , please do an mention how many posts have appeared about this scam. I will call the numbers tomorrow and confront them with all the negative reviews and mention the two names above as a recourse for their scaming the public.

I read your question and it is the same as mine.  None of those who complained explained why it didn't work or how much effort they put into it.  Some sound like their level of education makes it unlikely that they will succeed at this.  Have you learned anything new about GMI Enterprises?

I revieved phone call on April 13,2009 from phone #971-285-3130 It was a recording. You then follow the prompts. I got a live operator who started to process my order (so she thought). Instead i ask if there was a phone # that i could call later in the week cause i didn't have the money. I had funds i just wanted to check them out.
Everyone please listen closely to the wording used. It says after you recievd your orietation package you can order the list of home owners. The word ORDER is the key. this means they intend to get you to place a separate order for list of names. If this was real EVERYTHING YOU COULD NEED SHOULD BE IN THE PACKAGE. ALSO THIS IS A LONG DISTANCE CALL NOT AN 800 # When i ask for a website i was told website is for PAYING MEMBERS ONLY. I ask 'so there's no way to find out about this company before spending my hard earned money. His reply was 'let me transfer you to cusstomer support." The line was disconnected. EVERYONE IF YOU'RE THNKING OF SENDING THE MONEY IT WOULD BE PUT TO BETTER USE IF YOU SEND IT TO ME. I"M LAID OFF WORK TWICE LAST YEAR AND ONCE THIS YEAR.
    DON'T DO IT.
