Hi I have the same experience with everyone here so don't need to write my personal experience.  I was just wondering if anyone knows how to go about to get a refund back from the portion that I've already paid to Consumer Direct Warranty services and / or if any outstanding class action lawsuits.

    I just found out 7-16-13 that I too can not use my extended warranty thru CDWS and paid $2000 and my warranty expires 2015....having an electrical problem with my car window called the so call company to get repaired and Warranty assurance informed me that CDWS is no longer in business and informed me to contact BBB for class action.  I contacted BBB and I was advised to contact a lawyer.  Please count me in  also ASAP..... j_battles08@comcast.net.

    I to have contacted both companys. Mepco referred me to the attorney General of California. I sent in my dispute on 08.20.2013. Hope to hear something. DSI and Mepco got $1950.00. If anyone hears of lawsuit please contact me at sweetsensherry@hotmail.com

      I just ran across a website for Consumer Direct Warranty Scams, which is listed as California Department of Insurance, and it listed a number for all CDWS victims to call 1-916-854-5841, the site is from 2011 but I left a messasge and I'm waiting on a call back.

    Had a policy through CarSafe. They went out of business and MEPCO continued to deduct payments from my checking account. After CarSafe closed who got my monthly payments?  And, why, if MEPCO is not in the car warranty business do they have a right to keep the money they received for the portion of the money that was paid for the months where there was no plan in place.  I would think when MEPCO decided to keep collecting for the warranty contract, when there was no warranty company, they put themselves in the warranty business and should have to honor the contracts as written.

    MEPCO is making money financing these contracts and if they are not held liable when the companies they represented fail, they should, at a minimum, have to refund the unused premiums. If my accounting memory hasn't failed me, according to EBITA accounting, (Income equal to Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization) upfront monies collected have to be allocated as future income for the life of the contract. So when there was no company, there was no contract and the earnings were not theirs to keep.

    That said, however, I can see the problem with class action suits against the warranty company and MEPCO, as MEPCO has represented so many different companies the  victim pool gets diluted.  MEPCO made money on all these contracts, they are the common denominator!  Part of being in business is assuming the risk, they took the risk, they made the money and they should be held responsible. If they did not understand the risk, shame on them. Maybe the class action angle is to go after MEPCO when the companies they represent are in default of the contracts MEPCO financed.  If nothing else it will force MEPCO to be a little more choosy on who they represent.

    I was also ripped off by this so call warranty. They denied are claim on a water pump on a 1500 Chevy Silverado. Told us we didn't maintain proper  maintenance on the water  pump. How the hell do you maintain maintenance on a water pump? Exactly then they said gaskins weren't cover and we had the direct choice which states gaskins are covered. If anyone knows of a class action, we would gladly join it bc Consumer Direct Warranty was  scan and took are hard earn money for nothing in return. My email is teresaberrier@yahoo.com

    I never use my so called coverage and went to get my 1,5000 refund , when i called the number provided it s a live nasty hot sex number! Wow   im an idiot !!!!!
