Baggage lost and found
Complaint
Narottam Mundhra
Country: India
I travelled on Turkish Airlines on 21st November and my baggage on Arrival at New Delhi on 22nd November 2009 was found to be missing. There after several follow-ups I was confirmed on 27th November that my baggage has been lost and you may please file a baggage lost claim with us and there after a claim was filed on 07th December'2009. during this period I had purchased many of my clothings and personal belongings due to this lost, however after several confirmation that the baggage is lost and the claim is in process - however I have still received a comment in Feb that the baggage is traced and again the customer care was silent for a month for delivering the bag there after in March they confirmed that they are still searching the bag and finally on 15th March the was found and delivered to me. During all these delay it is not possible to for me to not buy clothings and accessories of my regular requirement as it was confirmed that the bag is lost - so I had re-invest close to USD 2500 for my personal goods and now the customer care in Delhi confirmed that the maximum compensation will be USD 300 only, also as desired I have submitted all the bills of my purchase and still there is no positive response from their side which is surprising for me. I always travel through Turkish Airlines and this is my worst experience of travel and makes me to think before travelling next time.

I am writing to complain about damage caused to my suitcases and some contents that occurred on my recent journey with Turkish Airlines on Saturday May 21, 2012 from Karachi, Pakistan to Istanbul, Turkey, and to Chicago, Illinois final destination
On arrival at my destination my baggage did not arrive at the arrival belt. I went to the baggage service desk to find out what happen to my suitcases. The clerk at the service desk told me that they have been misplaced and are in Istanbul. They will deliver them tomorrow. They gave me a reference number : TK13985. The Baggage Tag: 338291-338292 for two suitcases. Finally my suitcases arrived the next day on Sunday May 22, 2012 at 11: 50 PM. I discovered damage and items missing from my luggage. I told the delivery-man about the damage to my luggage. He told me to contact the airlines and left.
Karachi office but still no response/settlement made.As I observed that Karachi office is good but they
are helpless to settle the case.Can any body help me in this regard.?

" We were suppose to fly from Istanbul to New Delhi via Turkish Airline Flight no. TH 0716 on 11.06.12.
We landed at Istanbul domestic airport from Antalya via Turkish airline flight no. TK 2435 and checked in our baggage at 09:30 a.m. on 11.06.12 as our flight was scheduled to depart to Delhi at 19:55 p.m. One of the passanger was a wheel chair bound passenger hence we made sure that our luggage is timely checked in.
Later in the evening we left our hotel at 5 p.m. but got stuck in an unexpected/unavoidable traffic jam. We managed to reach airport at 7:15 p.m. but Turkish airline staff took 15 minutes to arrange the wheel chair as the automatic wheelchair which we were carrying was out of battery. We kept requesting the staff to make sure that the we board the craft as the delay in arranging wheelchair was not our fault. Unfortunately, we missed the flight despite all pleads, requests, anger and running around as we had to literally run inside airport to reach the gates. Then we took a hotel for a day as one of the passenger was a heart patient and could not wait at the airport for the next flight which was after 24 hours.
The only help we got from the Istanbul staff was that they had reissued next days ticket I.e. Of 12.06.12, without any charge as they realised their mistake. On our inquiry regarding the checked-in baggage we were informed that they will automatically be loaded in the next flight which we are taking. However, much to our dismay, when we reached Delhi airport on 13.06.12 around 4:40 a.m. we waited for almost an hour for our baggage. After much mental stress and harassment we came to know that by mistake of Turkish airline our luggage had arrived on 12.06.12 ( a day before our arrival) hence it was sent to the Central ware housing corporation which charged us Rs 800, vide receipt no. 22137, book no. 222 dated 13.06.12 for all four baggages, for releasing our baggages.
Thereafter, we went straight to our house as we were totally exhausted because of last two days traveling and mental stress.. In the evening when we opened our baggaes we were shocked to find out that some of our belongings like watches, iphone charger and sun glasses were missing from two of our baggages hence we straight away went to airport to inform the turkish airline staff and gave a written complain to one of the representatives who took the complain from us and also requested us to send and email regarding the same."
Till date we have not got any revert from them. Can anyone advise me how to sue them or lodge a complain against them.

On August 9, 2012 we accomplished flight on Ashgabat-Istanbul-Simferopol itinerary and during check-in for this flight we submitted our luggage in number of three (3) suitcases without declaration of price, what is confirmed by existing air tickets on our hands. After reception by the carrier (Turkish Airlines) of the luggage as registered, we received luggage receipt/ticket (tag).
Our data as follow:
Carrier: Turkish Airlines
The fight date: 09.08.2012
Flight #: 0323
Route: Ashgabad-Simferopol via Istanbul
Passengers: Ms. Seyitmuradova Shirin,
Ms. Seyitmuradova Sheker
Luggage Tag Numbers:
TK 727417;
TK 727416;
TK 727415;
At the airport of final destination in Simferopol all our three suitcases were found to be missing.
3 (three) items of luggage have been received by Turkish Airlines. We applied to the Representation of Turkish Airlines on this matter at the airport of final destination in Simferopol, with the help of which relevant inquiry on search/investigation of our luggage has been made, but all our luggage never has been found so far.
Additionally management team of the Representation Office of Turkish Airlines in Ashgabat refuse to participate in search/investigation of our luggage. What shoul we do then? Have a sit and wait in Simferopol?
Analogous incident with luggage loss on Turkish Airlines occurred with us last year as well.
We are extremely exasperated and express our dissatisfaction of negligence implementation of their duties by those subdivisions of Turkish Airlines which are responsible for timely delivery of luggage to the point of final destination.
All our plans for quiet and healthy rest were disrupted and spoiled through you air company's fault.
In accordance with Item 9.4.1. of “General Rules” prescribed in Turkish Airlines, after acceptance of luggage for transportation the air company is fully responsible for the accepted luggage.
Being guided by Items 9.4.1, 9.9.1, 9.9.2 of “General Rules” we are demanding to find and return immediately our 3 (three) suitcases which were accepted by Turkish Airlines for transportation otherwise we will bring an action before the court for compensation of financial and moral losses caused through your air company’s fault.

I have lost my bag on 19 August 2012 , I am soooooo sad, I have keep calling them every day , but they are very impolite and rude , I had a lot s of new clothes and shoes and other important thing inside my bag , i don’t know what to do I really need my bag !! I have reported my lost , I hate this Turkish airline and their service !! for sure I never fly with this airline !!! plzz if anyone know any better way to get our bag return or to complain from them , let me know . I am soooooooo angry ;(((
I have been reading negative comments regarding lost baggage handling of Turkish airlines on so many websites and I agree with it, Turkish staff in Turkey itself aren't cooperative and are rude too. But
I think there are very few people who get back their lost baggage from Turkish Airlines.
I was lucky that my self written 'name and flight route' on the bag helped them easily to find the lost bag.
Guys don't give up hope, you can be one of the lucky person to get your lost luggage. Cheers!
