I've had calls from this company day in and day out for weeks. They hang up as soon as I answer, and it's impossible to get to a representative once you call them back - they put you on hold for 20-30 minutes. When I finally got to a life person, she almost killed me with her question. She asked if I am happy with the service?!?!?! Wrong question to ask a person who was called and hung up on for weeks. I said NO!

    I have been getting calls from the following numbers for the past few days.

    03 88081600
    03 88081400
    03 88081700
    03 88081300


    They stopped over the weekend. I have answered twice and both times there was just silence.

    i too have calls from these numbers listed above. i missed all but the last, and when i answerwed there was no one there. I googled the number to find this thread! i am going to ring tealstra and complain. Keep a record if you get charged on your bill chase them down.

    I ring back and am told is is Telstra.

    Then THEY hang up on you, telling you to call another number.

    I have been called by 03 9246 4700 numerous times.  I think what is happennign is that there is an automatic dialler calling these numbers (obviously including everyone on the list).  The way that these work is that your number will will remain in the list until theyy actually contact you and you speak to someone, then it is removed.  That is why people who actually get to talk to someone don't continue to get calls.  This is just a guess though.  I also have a suspicion that the list is what is known as the 'retention list' which means that they contact you if there is a change in your behaviour (e.g. you go from many calls a day to no calls for a number of days or not use BigPond for a week or so) or is there is a change or disruption to your service, e.g your home phone line cut for a couple fo days.

    I have not answered any of these but if there is someway I can get this to stop I would be a happy man.

    Iv had 8 calls from these various numbers just today, not to mention all the ones i got yesterday. Its ridiculous. And everytime I answer they either hang up, or there is a strange clicking noise so i immediately hang up.
    Conveniently my plan is up for renewal soon, hence why they are calling im sure.

    Plan: go in to an actual Telstra shop and get them to sort it out right then and there, and lodge a complaint. Its bordering on harrassment at the moment.

    Have also received calls from 03 98342000 and 03 98314800. I ignore them but they have left a recorded message on messsagebank telling me to change to the new network as i am still CDMA and they still keep calling.

    I actually rang the number back and it was an automated service telling me i was a values client and i should call them back to hear all about 'telstra's premium services'. what a crock... i am not even a telstra cutomer any more i went accross to optus 3 weeks ago.

    one other thing... if you do manage to speak to someone be careful what you say because if you even give them an 'oh yeah, that sounds OK' they will take that as a agreement for a new contrat. it happened to a friend of mine and it it took him 3 bill cycles to get it sorted out. The company calling you is not telstra, it is a company hired to sell telstra priducts. they dont give a crap about telstra or your plan they just want to sell a phone plan and cop the $$.

    Also, if you do talk to them and ask them not to call you back it wont neccesarily work. they will keep calling you until you sign up.

    I have had 6 calls over the last 2 days from

    03 9834 2900
    03 9834 2800.

    Same as everyone else, they hang up.
    Last week, i had telstra ring me to update my contract as it was about to expire, (2 months to go on a 12 month contract)
    I was with CJ and even the day after i consented to another 12 month contract, they called again the next day to get me to sign up with them.
    When i let the operator know that they had just spoken to me the day before, she appoligised.
    Just keep in mind that these operators get paid a commission for every body they can get signed up.
    I have saved their numbers in the phone so next time they ring, ill just let it go unanswered.

    Don't Go With Vodafone Either
    I received one of those calls today. 03 9937600. Couldn't hear properly at the time but glad I found your site and know what its about. Btw, steer clear of dodgy Vodafone- when I transferred they ported my number from another network to a woman in the store at the same time as me. They then transferred her entire account to me when I complained. Finally thought it was sorted this morning but now they've deactivated my sim. When I call my number the woman they gave it to the first time is answering the phone again. Its Friday night, their customer service is closed for the weekend and Ive been on hold already for an hour and a half. NOT HAPPY

    Call today from 0398341400 (twice).  Not available first one but got second call.  They wanted to know if they could change the design of my telephone account.  They also tried to sell me the Broadband Internet service.  The present service I am on provides a sufficient service.

    I've just had 4 numbers in the last 24 hours (3 listed above plus 03 9831 6600) - will try the 'do not call' government site but will also try the Telstra 'unwelcome calls' line / site (1800 805 996 / www.telstra.com.au/unwelcome-calls)

    0388311600 is the offender that just happened, but i recieved a couple from some other numbers too.

    I'm am unsure as to who is doing it.... sounds like some strange marketing scam, though.....

    Whilst I was on a Telstra cdma plan (casual), all I got from Telstra was telling me I needed to upgrade to a Next-G plan.  I had spent some time paying off the phone and then they tell me they are shutting down the network  and did absolutely nothing to look after their customer (me) so as to keep my business with them.  They wanted me to start all over again (ie new phone, new phone payment, new plan, new contract etc etc) and I did but with a different carrier and couldn't be happier.  Well, now that I have shifted, they keep calling me to see if there is anything they can do for me.  Doh, a little late for that Telstra, you should be looking after your customers before they walk away, not after because I am no longer your customer, you dumb f&*@'s.

    I've just been getting calls from phone numbers 0388081700 and 0388081000.  The Second number i got directed to my voice mail.. and it was just quite. and today, the first number i answered and it was like they were just listening..  Quite annoying..   So whats going on with the calls?
