I saw a comercial for a paydaY loan for $1000 in your account the very next day sponsored by Montel Williams so I went online and applied, they approved me for only $300 i ecpected the money in my account the next day and nothing then I get home and checked my email and they sent me an email stating NOw that I have been approved I need to call them as my last step! So I call and they tell me it will take 2 business days to deposit the money in my account and now here it is 4 days later and the money is still not in my account. I only have one thing to say, If you don't have cash deal with it, dont get loans from any payday loan places, its not worth all the hassle. And Montel Williams I respect you as an Intelligent Man but sponsoring a payday loan co. was a big mistake.

The loans are bogus. You pay a 300 times mark up on these loans if you go the whole loan period usually 4 months.  If you don't pay them off with the first payment you keep accruing principal. It's just a mess if you take the payment option to pay the loan off in 4 payments that's a crock because you have principal.  They split payments up between 2 withdrawals from you account one for the payment which changes weekly after the first four ninety dollar payments.  I ended up paying $975.00 on a 300.00 loan.
That's was making biweekly payments until they told me the loan was payed off.  Now I figure that's about a 300% markup on the loan.  Ridiculous.  I was always on time. God only knows what would happen should a check bounce from these split payments.  Between fees from the bank and fees from them it would be a nightmare. Who knows what system they have made up in those instances. Stay away don't be a fool it's not worth it.  Let me already have done it for you.  Beleive me I feel like a stupid donkey.  beware you've been warned

What is the world coming to?    Montel is hawking loan shark type payday loans, the Fonz is hawking reverse mortages (yet another way to kick folks out of their home ownership), and other celebs hawking everything from car insurance to bed mattresses!   Haven't these folks sucked enough out of the economy in their highly overpaid jobs in the entertainment industry?   There are those of us out here who are honestly trying to make ends meet without having to listen to these bloodsuckers on TV.

I never understood how people think a payday loan is going to help them.  Your next check you gotta pay it back anyways so your never gonna be ahead until you pay at least double the amount that you borrowed.  Everyone, well most everyone, needs money now, myself included.  But payday loans are the last thing that would ever cross my mind.  I actually only think of it when someone else brngs it up.  Its probably one of the dumbest things you can do.

My husband and I are having a really hard time and just needed $1,000 to make it this month.  We have 2 kids born in December and then all three kids need some kind if Christmas.  They are great kids!  I am really desperate and earlier this link didn't pull up, so when I was going to try again, I read all your comments.  Thanks to everyone who took the time to rate this poor excuse for "helping".  I really thought would be worth a time due to I respected Montel Williams.  I agree with you Summer, "SHAME ON HIM!"  I feel for you all.

Thank you ALL soooo much. I'm sorry you went through what you did and what some of you are going through, but it was preventive medicine for me. I would have tried this believing Montel had the integrity to research the organization he is promoting.

Thank you all for the heads up!  I am so sorry your misfortune was my benefit.  With xmas around the corner, I really needed a few extra $'S, but I rather give the kids less and not go through all the stress you all have been going through!! Hope everyone who is thinking about doing this, now realizes it is what it is! A scam!!

Payday loans are just a bad idea.  Once you get into them, most of us never seem to get out of them.  It's the same as people who get into motels who are on the border of being homeless.  They aren't able to afford a security and cleaning deposits for an apartment so they end up in motels.  How are you expected to save any money for these deposits when these motels stick you for high daily rates that add up to as much as $3000.00 a month?  It's a revolving door!!!

I also screwed up with the payday loans.  It is impossible to pay them off. I ended up closing my account and telling them what I could pay back and when. There is not much they can do then except say ok. Google how to pay off payday loans and there are some sites that can advise you.

    Fraud Alert
This company is a complete scam, and I am considering legal action against them.  I applied for a $1000 loan in August 2010, only to be turned down.  Then within days I was getting emails and calls from different companies stating that I had been pre-approved.  I never went through with ANY of the offered loans.  In October I started getting phone calls from an office in Houston from a guy that CLAIMED he worked for the city attorneys office, and that I have received illegal wiring of $1000 into my account.  He was able to give me my bank name, account number, and SS#.  I was LIVID to say the least, because I NEVER received anything from this place. I'm constantly getting harrased from different people about this. I am fed up and will not let anyone push me around.  I'm going to get a copy of my credit report, and then follow through with my law suit.  WARNING!!!!!!

All the payday loan companies clearly state on their home page that they are not lenders, and do not make loans. They also state that all borrowers are not eligible for the full amount. They go on to say ( on the commercial) that you may borrow UP TO $1,000.00  The disclaimer is right on the commercial. All these people offer is to match you with potential lenders. Payday loans are for people with poor credit (usually) and yes, the interest rate is high. Expect to pay (typically) $25.00- $30.00 per $100.00 borrowed.

Montel is a PAID spokesperson, and will say what the company wants him to say.

    Caveat Emptor!  (buyer beware).
