I received this email a month ago from ACS law group  and fell for it and paid $75. The email said my debt was forgiven. I then received another email from NCS this morning. I googled it and found this site and replied with a not so friendly email. Don't be a big dummy like me.

    Dear Debtor,

Kindly verify your mailing address, as the legal charges are already filed and we are going to send you the court papers, so we wanted to confirm the mailing address before we send any important legal documents.

Just to remind you, this is regarding the e-mail we sent you earlier to download the legal case against you and we did not receive any prompt response from your end to set up the payment and to avoid the charges.

For any questions and concerns, do get back to us so that we can help you with a solution if indeed you want to get rid of the consequences. You can either e-mail us back or call us on the phone number given below. We work from 9 AM EST to 6 PM EST.

Yup!  I got an E - mail (in my SPAM folder) this morning that read exactly as yours.  Word for word.  I find it very strange, even comical, that any law firm would begin a letter with "Dear debtor".  Furthermore, when I called the number..Three times.. each time I got a recording from a woman with a weird accent saying this:  "The person you are trying reach is not available.  Please leave a message after the beep."

      ??????

What kind of above - ground law firm..or ANY business for that matter, answers the business phone that way??

I forgot to mention that the alleged law firm was NCS..not ACS.  Nevertheless, the rest of the letter/E - mail was identical to yours, including the name Matt Williams....I have never received any previous communication from NCS  either, contrary to the supposed E - mail they said they sent me.

      Smells like fraud to me..

I received a e mail message from this company (NCS Law Group) on 14 Jan 2014. They advised me that I should respond back to them by the telephone number given or address them by making sure my e mail address was correct. Naturally it was the correct e mail address if they contacted me. They never stated in the e mail what the issue was or to what company they were representing. These on-line pay day company's are illegal and will charge you an over-rated percentage rate for an $200 loan. Before you know it, you are owing $700 or more so dollars. The best way to not deal with this mess is to not apply for on line loans. Does not matter how good it sounds or how desperate one becomes for money. It's a rip off and I advise that those of us whom are targets for this type of harassment, get on the boat and contact pay day loan consolidation firms and get our lives back on track. Trust me, there is help out there and regardless of the un-wanted threats to pay out more or send you court documents; get your life back. There are resources.

I received this exact email this am- about 20mins ago. It's not personalized and return email address "don't reply" @-----
Obviously a scam. If there was a judgement against me- surely I would have received a certified letter. Not some form letter to my email.

Payday loans companies do not sue.  Any suit would have to match the usury laws for your particular state.  Payday loan companies make money on the volume of loans they make, not each one.  They do not sue.  Illegitimate companies purchase information from the payday referral websites and they do not care if you got a loan, or paid back the loan.  They harass people solely based upon personal information they purchase for about $25 for each person they get information for.  The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act does not allow debt collectors to threaten suits or allege fraud, as the debt collector is a non-involved third party with no legal defense to sue or allege fraud.  These illegitimate debt collectors are phonies.  They steal names from legitimate companies.  They are con men and women.  Their threats of suit and allegations of fraud are not legal and only serve to scare and intimidate people into giving them money which they don't deserve.  Some, such as this NCS Law Group, try to make people think they are lawyers.  They are not, they are complete frauds.  They use interstate communications to commit felony extortion.  They are crooks and criminals committing felony extortion.

The case will be downloaded on Tuesday (January 28th 2014) and you will be soon served with the court papers due to non-payment after so many reminders. If you want to avoid these legal consequences we merely require you to get back to us with the payment, you can e-mail back or call on the phone number given on the bottom of the e-mail.

received an email today wanting confirmation of my mailing address. fat chance i'll send that to them.  it too was from Matt Williams with NCS law group with a phone number of 347-669-8240 nothing about a legal case, just wanting to send me papers but the rest is the same, basically, take care of it if I don't want to deal with the consequences.  I too am getting fed up with all the scam artists out there.  I forwarded it on to the FTC, and the FBI.  Since NCS is a collection agency in NY, you can also file a complaint with the BBB
