This is the second year I have used this pool. It has been nothing but a big
pain. The filter is too small for the pool size and has to be cleaned every
day. This is not an easy task and is not user friendly. The plunger valve
assembly which turns off the water from the pool to the pump broke and the company is out of stock for the part. This makes it even more difficult to clean the filter and screen in the pump. And the parts department was not very helpful when I called to find out when the part would be available and what I was supposed to do in the meantime.

I have the same complaint.  I call the parts department constantly and I am told, "the part will be in next week".  Well, that has been since June, it is now July 30th.
I have spent a furtune on cleaning products, but because I can not vacuum the pool, it will quickly turn bad within days.

Funny, it's weird how tons of these appear for a fortune all over the net for 3 and 4 times the cost, yet the company can not get them in stock.

Seems to me that the company is attempting to get more of a profit from the buyers of this product.  I will make sure in the future, "INTEX" will never appear in or around my home.

Same problem here, filter motor blew the second time I turned it on.  Even primed it had a click noise. Inflation ring kept going flat finally I cut it open and stuffed it with pool doodles. Next summer, Im getting a real pool, these are a joke.

i bought one for my 4 year old. it was a pain for me as well. i have spent a lot of money on chemicals that don't seem to help. I've had everything from algae to cloudy water to water that gets too hot in the sun. The pump won't pull the vacuum to clean the thing so I have to use a shop vac. WTF man?

the pump motors are unreliable.  I've been through 3 of them, in 5 years.  A replacement is 1/3 the cost of the entire set up.  I might add, the parts are not interchangable.  If I were to do it over again, I would just save money up for a legitimate above ground pool.

My pool pump motor shaft broke, I replace it with a welding rod. the pump
works fine for now. I did buy a new salt water combo salt water pump.

I've had my 15'x42" pool up and running without one problem for 7 years now.  The color of the liner is a little faded, and we did have to replace the hoses last year, but that's it!  My kids are rough and rowdy, and this pool has held up wonderfully.

Our friends have a nice in ground pool which adds $100 to electric bill each month - 12 months per year.  That is not in our budget.  We have 18' intex E-Z set pool.

YES our hoses wore out. We went to Lowe's to replace them.  AMAZON.com has parts cheap.  We monitor chemicals with test kit, it stays clean most of the summer. If water is really bad, and you can't figure it out, take a sample to full service pool store and they will sell you supplies to fix. Toward end of TX summer, we slipped and our water got gross - we gave up on fixing it and just drained and refilled for less than $30.

We'd love to have an inground pool, but for now this is a less expensive alternative for our 3 boys.  However, you must be prepared to spend time every couple of days maintening, cleaning, treating with chemicals and on ocassion replacing a few parts, etc. . .

Well I did not have trouble with the motor I had trouble with the pool shifting to one side the ground is level but this pool has been a pain in my tail end for the last two years I think next time im to buy an above ground pool it will be from a major pool dealer and they can have the agrevation on install and keeping the pool level It will be more money but the agavation will be someone elses.

I had one for two years and the last year it started to get holes in the bottom.  I patched them and over the winter it go two more.  There is 4in of sand under the pool and there was nothing in the sand that could have put the hole.  I will get a new one but not a Sun and Sand one.  It is made by intex by probably a Walmart quality.

I feel the same way I have had mine set up for just about 2 weeks. The filter is to small for it and I have spent some much money on it. I get it at the right levels and keep the filter clean and have no clue why the damn thing is still cloudy! Anyone have any ideas for me??

I've my for 4 years not had much problem with it. I have replace hoses and shut off vales. But that is do to weather. I take my pump in for the winter but keep my pool fill in the winter. not had to patch a hole yet knock on wood. I got the 18 foot round for $288 I think if I lost it now that I got my money out of it. Remeber tou didn't pay %5000 for it. You bought a cheapskape pool.

Well seems like I buy one every year..due to I'm not the greatest packer...anyway, there a pain like anything else..lets face it, the majority of us are not Rockerfeller..so for the money it's fine..yes the filter is terrible, but i fill mine like 2 or 3 times through the summer, I am actually on my way for a smaller one this year, easier to keep it clean..the 12 by 36, 98$ at walmart..but the cover for 20 and for 150 bucks including the chemicals..its a start..I find them to be hey..ok..feel free to email me at...hollie1974@yahoo.com, or myspace..www.myspace.com/holliekatnip

We've had this pool for going on two summers now....patched successfully small pinholes....but, the pump STINKS.  When, after the first summer, it stopped working.  We kept ours clean daily...checking it and it was great....until we wanted to use it the next summer.  With the pump out less than a year of owning it,  I contacted Intex.  They put me off many times..taking messages and claiming someone would call me back to tell me what to do.  We finally obtained a used pump from a friend because she hated her pool.  The pump ended up being too small for our pool, and the water turned green almost within a day...so we gave up.  I was going to buy a new pump this year, but I think I'll pass....and never recommend Intex to any of my neighbors or family.
