This is the second year I have used this pool. It has been nothing but a big
pain. The filter is too small for the pool size and has to be cleaned every
day. This is not an easy task and is not user friendly. The plunger valve
assembly which turns off the water from the pool to the pump broke and the company is out of stock for the part. This makes it even more difficult to clean the filter and screen in the pump. And the parts department was not very helpful when I called to find out when the part would be available and what I was supposed to do in the meantime.

We just put up our Intex 15 ft easy set for the seventh summer.  I can't live without it.  Great for exercise and just cooling off on a hot summer day. The second year I bought a real pump for $170.00 dollars-worth every penny. I had one small hole the first year, patched it and it has held ever since. I do not know the difference in quality from the Walmart Sun and Sand and the Intex, but I mine has held up very well.  I treat it with speacial care, set up and tear down is an all day job in the spring and fall-but worth the effort.  Don't complain about the chemical cost, you would have this with any pool.  Love my pool!  Now if it would just stop raining, so I can use it.  I look forward to one of my favorite pass times - Sip, Dip and Flip.

Where can I buy a stronger, better pump for my 18' intex ez set pool?
I love the pool, but the pump cannot keep the water clean enough when the TX sun reaches into the 100 degree mark.  I would love a stronger pump and would not mind paying more to get this.

Intheswim.com has pump solutions from $150-$500 that will solve any intex filtration problem. I never used the one that came with it, went straight to a 100 sq.ft. 1 hp cartidge system ($300 at the time) and never looked back about six years ago. They also have some small sand jobs that will work too. Accept the fact that the pump will cost as much as the pool as enjoy your pool!

Has anyone ever used well water in their pool? If so how do I get it clear? I heard people say don't use shock in it and then they say do? And it still is a greenish yellow color.

I would like to know where to get another pump? I have searched the internet and bought one from Brandson or some name like that, now the one I bought is the wrong one, now my pool is turning green and whenever I call the manufacture the line is always busy, I am so frustrated can you please let me know where I might find the right one, by the way my pool is 18'round SandNSun and it is only 3 months old? It seems these pools are a joke. Thanks for any help. Sheryl Roland

These pools do have to be maintained like an expensive type, but I've found the key is to keep up with the chemicals.  I also found out from a friend (who has an in ground) that you can shock it with baking soda - I've been doing it for 2 yrs and it's way less expensive and works the same.  A kit from Wal Mart that is about $30 has the test strips and chemicals and lasts almost all summer.  I also use a chlorine tablet float.  I have a rule also - if you swim, you have to use the net and clean it before and after you get out.  It sounds like alot, but it only takes about 2 minutes to check the chemicals and 5 to skim it.  You can leave it over the winter if you empty the water below the skimmer and winterize the pump and tubes, and use a cover.  I don't work for Itex, I've just used trial and error! lol :)

I am so frustrated because the pool, instead of raising up when it starts to fil (as it claims), went compleately lop-sided and now has to be emptied.  I wish I would have never gotten this pool!!!!!!!!!!

    Joanna,
We bought the 15' x 48".  We had that same problem!!! And we did everything like the damn dvd said.  This easy set crap is NOT easy set.  We ended up having to drain the whole thing and start over and it is better than the first time but still lop sided.  I DO NOT RECOMMEND this pool to anyone!

we have the same problem with the little 10'X30", it keeps falling over too.The pump just went out as well.  I think we will get the metal(PVC) frame one next time.

My husband painstakingly leveled the area where we set up the pool, and I was extremely careful about smoothing the liner out before filling it and yet the pool is terribly lop-sided, bulging out on one side.  We're on a well, so we had to make 11 trips to town to haul water in order to fill the pool (14ft. diameter).  Needless to say, it won't be practical to drain and refill.  We definitely won't be using this pool again next year!

My complaint is not filters or chemicals or hoses - I've had the 13 foot pool for 4 years now - but it shifts - terribly shifts - the ground is mostly level - looks good when I first put it up - then it rains and I don't know if the ground under it gets slippery and all of a sudden I have a slip and slide pool - but the bottom shifts out form under it and now I have 1 side with 2.5 feet and the other side is up to the top - I think it is a 15feet wide foot pool now but only about 2 feet deep.... Tried to move it but it did the same thing.... Any suggestions on that?

I've had two of these in the last 3 years.  The first was the 8'X27".  It was great!  Easy to put up.  3 year old grandson and I loved it all summer!  Definitely got our $30 worth out of it.  Two years ago we didn't get one and I really missed not having one.  Last year, we moved up to the 12'X30" which was oh so much better.  Had trouble toward end of season both years, with cloudy water and eventually some algae issues, but I attribute that to my lack of knowledge about treating the water properly.  As far as the pools go, I think they're wonderful for those of us with tight budgets.  Haven't gotten yet, this year, but now that the weather is finally acting like summer, I'm about ready to go for my third pool in four years.  Like Hollie, I'm not much on packing and putting away for the next year.  At under $100 I figure I can buy a new one every year and still be money ahead vs the city pool prices and the convenience of having a pool in my backyard.  In fact, our grandson, now 6, was sitting in my lap tonight while I was surfing the web checking out new pool possibilities!  I'll be getting another Sand and Sun or Intex this weekend!  Can hardly wait!  It'll be nice to come home from work and just jump right in and let my cares float away.  WOOHOO!

I have had mine for 3 years now, we have had no real problems other than what the kids have caused, last Summer the kids brought so much mud into it that we did have to drain and start from scratch, this year our problem with this pool is the hose has split and we found you can buy replacement hose from Lowes. Of course it was hard to figure out how to use the vacuum, but after HOURS of trying I was able to figure that out as well, with some determination and attention my experiance with this pool has been a great one.
