TEHY RECORDED MY VOICE
Complaint
robert
Country: United States
I got a call on my cell phone regarding credit card debt relief. . I was transferred to nakisha, asked if I wanted to continue, they asked for $600 or $60.00 to send me the paperwork and for the consultation. When I asked them what it was for she said they would deduct from my first payment but would not tell me what the money was for FINALLY SHE said yes.
THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD APPLY TO MY CREDITORS BUT WHEN THEY CONVINCED ME TO RECORD MY VOICE THAN THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY A FEE FOR THE CONSULTATION!!!
. No fees should be sent to anyone for additional information requested on a company or program
she has been harrasing me telling that i have to pay this amount or else! and that they can take me to court becaues they have my voice accepting!! ! unfortunally i gave many personal information!!
what happends now??
i never signed anything!!!!

So you look to organizations for help, then fall off the program before ever coming close to completing it, and then complaining that it didn't help you. Well no kidding! You can't expect a chain to hold if you don't put all the links in!
The primary focus of complaints on here is coming from the Debt Settlement program. You all need to understand how a settlement works. For example, if you try to call your credit card companies yourself, and attempt to settle on say a $5,000 balance, and they agree to settle for $2,500, they will want that payment UP FRONT. Now, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you don't have $2,500 to give them immediately, they are not going to settle. They have no interest (pardon the pun) in setting you up on a payment plan for half the balance when they already have you by the balls paying the FULL amount under a payment plan.
So there are programs available that work with attorney's to put you on a payment plan. The attorney contacts the creditor letting them know you are participating in a settlement program, and takes over communication with the creditor. An account is then opened to allow your money to grow. Now, JUST like if you try to settle on your own, when the attorney goes to settle the account, the funds need to be available IMMEDIATELY in order for the creditor to consider. So if your payment on the program is $350, and you have a credit card with a $10,000 balance, you can't expect anything to be done in the first 6 months because there is not enough money in the account for the creditor to consider a settlement. YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM IN ORDER TO REALIZE THE BENEFIT!!!!! The program WILL and DOES work, but you can't half-ass it. You have to be serious about becoming debt free and serious about being dedicated to completing the program.
Another program Debt Management companies offer is a debt consolidation or restructuring. This is where they negotiate the interest rates down on your accounts, allowing you to pay them off faster at a lower fixed rate. The debt still remains with the creditor, and on this program, they are paid monthly, and you still get statements from your creditors showing the payments being made, and reflecting the reduced interest rate. This program does not have a negative effect on your credit report, however debt settlement does, but DUH! If you settle on your accounts on your own, it TOO will have a negative effect as well.
Most people who go into a debt settlement do so either because their accounts are ALREADY delinquent, or they can no longer afford to sustain a normal monthly payment to the creditors. Payments on a settlement program are usually about half the amount of a normal payment. If you have good credit, and want to KEEP your good credit, you need to go into a consolidation or restructuring program, but you have to be able to sustain a monthly payment that is consistent with about what the minimum payment is on your credit cards anyway.
USE YOUR HEADS. Credit cards accrue daily compounding interest, so there are minimum REQUIREMENTS in order to be able to pay it off!!! It would seem obvious, but that isn't the case with some of the people on here. Your payment can't be less than the amount of interest you are accruing in a month's period or you will never pay the debt off. There is O magic involved, it's simple mathematics.
I used to work for a Debt Management company back in 2001, so I have a very good grasp on how this works. The bad information on this little forum was sickening, so I had to chime in.
The company is saying the cannot cancel my medical Ins unless it is a life changing event. I am only making $8.00 an hour, $90.00 dollars dedduction is too much frome. Is their move legal?

Thank you again,
GOD BLESS and
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
DONT PAY SOME SCAM ARTIST TO SCREW YOU OUT OF ALL THIS MONEY!
IF YOU HAVE $500/MO TO PAY THESE SCHISTERS YOU CAN CALL A COMPANY AND OFFER A SETTLEMENT; MOST WILL SETTLE OVER A 3 MONTH PERIOD. SO IF YOU OWE $3000; YOU CAN OFFER TO SETTLE FOR $1500 AND PAY IT OFF OVER 3 MONTHS (MAKE SURE TO MAKE THIS DEAL WHILE YOU ARE TALKING TO THE CREDITOR OR THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO PULL IT) AND ALWAYS GET IT IN WRITING!
DON'T HATE ME; HATE THE JOB! I'M JUST TRYING TO HELP!!!!

These guys started in Florida, then moved to Georgia, running a debt reduction telemarketing operation, then an auto warranty business. They had a robo-dialer that would call victims using "spoofed" numbers so the person receiving the call wouldn't know the origin of the call (or be able to call back). The victim would get a warning that their car warranty was about to expire or a call that seemed as though it was coming from their credit card company or bank offering to lower interest rates on their credit cards. The automated voice would then prompt the victim to "press 1" to be connected to a representative.
It seems like many of you may be complaining about the folks that our firm is investigating. It also seems like there may be some "insiders" or former employees that are posting on this blog. We believe these people may still be operating under other names, and we are especially interested in finding information about current operations. It would greatly aid our investigation to hear from former employees or insiders that have knowledge of the infrastructure of the businesses or the current operations. If this describes you, please email me directly at ertinvestigation@yahoo.com You can remain anonymous.
