Country: United States
I got a call on my cell phone regarding credit card debt relief. . I was transferred to nakisha,  asked if I wanted to continue, they asked for $600 or $60.00 to send me the paperwork and for the consultation. When I asked them what it was for she said they would deduct from my first payment but would not tell me what the money was for FINALLY SHE  said yes.

THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD APPLY TO MY CREDITORS BUT WHEN THEY CONVINCED ME TO RECORD MY VOICE THAN THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY A FEE FOR THE CONSULTATION!!!

. No fees should be sent to anyone for additional information requested on a company or program

she has been harrasing me telling that i have to pay this amount or else! and that they can take me to court becaues they have my voice accepting!! !  unfortunally i gave many personal information!!
what happends now??
i never signed anything!!!!

A client of mine has dealt with these people and you should avoid them at all costs. There appears to be a West African association here that should not be overlooked, considering the amount of credit card fraud we are seeing from that region. Beware

Am disappointed in and frustrated by the Consumer Law Group.  They have indeed contacted some of my creditors, paid some a small sum, not contacted others at all as far as I can tell, have paid some late causing late fees and threats to me by the credit card company. I am still trying to get this CST to honor their promises.  They have already taken money and my bvank says they will continue to honor their submissions unless the company itself asks them to quit paying theM.  nOT HIGHLY LIKELY!

Some of the complaints on here are ridiculous.  I have come to the conclusion that 90% of the people on here complaining had no idea what they were getting into, and did not ask questions nor read the documents they were signing.  Just like you probably didn't read the contracts on your mortgage or your credits cards that clearly states it's a variable interest rate subject to change with market conditions.  In plain english, they can change the rate because the sky is blue.  But you don't go complaining to the credit card companies, the very predators you allowed yourself to fall prey to do you?

So you look to organizations for help, then fall off the program before ever coming close to completing it, and then complaining that it didn't help you.  Well no kidding!  You can't expect a chain to hold if you don't put all the links in!

The primary focus of complaints on here is coming from the Debt Settlement program.  You all need to understand how a settlement works.  For example, if you try to call your credit card companies yourself, and attempt to settle on say a $5,000 balance, and they agree to settle for $2,500, they will want that payment UP FRONT.  Now, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you don't have $2,500 to give them immediately, they are not going to settle.  They have no interest (pardon the pun) in setting you up on a payment plan for half the balance when they already have you by the balls paying the FULL amount under a payment plan.

So there are programs available that work with attorney's to put you on a payment plan.  The attorney contacts the creditor letting them know you are participating in a settlement program, and takes over communication with the creditor.  An account is then opened to allow your money to grow.  Now, JUST like if you try to settle on your own, when the attorney goes to settle the account, the funds need to be available IMMEDIATELY in order for the creditor to consider.  So if your payment on the program is $350, and you have a credit card with a $10,000 balance, you can't expect anything to be done in the first 6 months because there is not enough money in the account for the creditor to consider a settlement.  YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM IN ORDER TO REALIZE THE BENEFIT!!!!!  The program WILL and DOES work, but you can't half-ass it.  You have to be serious about becoming debt free and serious about being dedicated to completing the program.

Another program Debt Management companies offer is a debt consolidation or restructuring.  This is where they negotiate the interest rates down on your accounts, allowing you to pay them off faster at a lower fixed rate.  The debt still remains with the creditor, and on this program, they are paid monthly, and you still get statements from your creditors showing the payments being made, and reflecting the reduced interest rate.  This program does not have a negative effect on your credit report, however debt settlement does, but DUH!  If you settle on your accounts on your own, it TOO will have a negative effect as well.

Most people who go into a debt settlement do so either because their accounts are ALREADY delinquent, or they can no longer afford to sustain a normal monthly payment to the creditors.  Payments on a settlement program are usually about half the amount of a normal payment.  If you have good credit, and want to KEEP your good credit, you need to go into a consolidation or restructuring program, but you have to be able to sustain a monthly payment that is consistent with about what the minimum payment is on your credit cards anyway.

USE YOUR HEADS.  Credit cards accrue daily compounding interest, so there are minimum REQUIREMENTS in order to be able to pay it off!!!  It would seem obvious, but that isn't the case with some of the people on here.  Your payment can't be less than the amount of interest you are accruing in a month's period or you will never pay the debt off.  There is O magic involved, it's simple mathematics.

I used to work for a Debt Management company back in 2001, so I have a very good grasp on how this works.  The bad information on this little forum was sickening, so I had to chime in.

EVEN IF YOUR SUPPOSED TO PAY THERE FEE FIRST, IN ALL THIS TIME OR MEAN TIME WHY HAVEN'T THEY BEEN SETTLEING WITH THE COMPANY'S IN THE MEAN TIME? THEY DONT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU EVERY MONTH AND YOUR CREDIT GET'S WORSE, NO SETTLEMENTS MADE, AND NOW GETTING SUED WHEN I THOUGHT IT WAS GETTING TAKING CARE OF. I WOULDN'T BE BEING TAKLEN TO COURT IF THEY WHERE ACUALLY DOING THERE JOB THERE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING OR SETTLING WITH THEM. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AT ALL. aLL THEY TOLD ME IS WE WOULD BE CONTACTED WHAT TO DO BEFORE THE COURT DATE AND NO ONE WILL BE THERE TO REPRESENT US CAUSE THERE IN FL! tHERE IS A LAWYER IN OUR STATE FROM THE SCROLLING LIST ON THERE SITE, i DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THAT LAWYER COULDNT COME REPRESENT US? tHIS IS BULL****!!! DEBT COLLECTOR
ASK YOUR DEBTOR TO SETTLE YOURSELF!

DONT PAY SOME SCAM ARTIST TO SCREW YOU OUT OF ALL THIS MONEY!

IF YOU HAVE $500/MO TO PAY THESE SCHISTERS YOU CAN CALL A COMPANY AND OFFER A SETTLEMENT; MOST WILL SETTLE OVER A 3 MONTH PERIOD. SO IF YOU OWE $3000; YOU CAN OFFER TO SETTLE FOR $1500 AND PAY IT OFF OVER 3 MONTHS (MAKE SURE TO MAKE THIS DEAL WHILE YOU ARE TALKING TO THE CREDITOR OR THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO PULL IT) AND ALWAYS GET IT IN WRITING!

DON'T HATE ME; HATE THE JOB! I'M JUST TRYING TO HELP!!!!

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS, I'M ON THE CLOCK

I spent about an hour on the phone with Debt Free Life and gave them my checking account number and routing number, but not my credit card numbers or my social security number, although they asked for this as well.  I was then transferred to Consumer Law Group and spoke with "Donna" who seemed ver professional and said that she would be recording ur verbal agreement which we did.  She also told me that I could call and cancel at any time.  She said she would be sending me all the paper work (I requestd it be sent in the mail not online) anyway, after I gor off the phone I told my cowoerker and she asked if I was sure they were legitimate?  I am a legal assistant, and yet I was completely snowed.  When I got home I googled them and discovered all of the complaints and about their scam operation.  I immdiately called my bank and had my checking account closed before they were able to steel any of my money.  I also emailed Consumer Law Group and advised them that I would not be needing their services and let them know I would be filing a complaint against them with the Attorney General's Office.

a company or fusiness entity in Florida does not have a phone number in California. 310 is coastal California. I was called and they insisted on getting my bank routing number and account information to get me started into thier program. when I requested information in writing through the mail before i would give them my banking information I was told that they could not help me that way and started through the same speel over and over. It is a sad statement on America when these people are not jailed. An interesting note is that they have accents that sound Russian or Ukraneian and that the local Florida Russians were in the business of mortgage brokers untill that scam ran to the point of failure. I firmly believe that they have just reinvented the same old scam and moved to Califiornia to avoid being tracked down. Mortgage brokers can get a license even if they have a criminal record while real estate sales people and real estate appraisers cannot....I suspect that even if a license is required there is a simmilar loophole.

I work for a law firm that is investigating Kara Singleton Adams, Jason Eyer, James Schoenholz, and their related companies-Economic Relief Technologies, Saferide Warranty, and VP Marketing.  I should point out that there are many other companies associated with these individuals.

These guys started in Florida, then moved to Georgia, running a debt reduction telemarketing operation, then an auto warranty business.  They had a robo-dialer that would call victims using "spoofed" numbers so the person receiving the call wouldn't know the origin of the call (or be able to call back).  The victim would get a warning that their car warranty was about to expire or a call that seemed as though it was coming from their credit card company or bank offering to lower interest rates on their credit cards.  The automated voice would then prompt the victim to "press 1" to be connected to a representative.

It seems like many of you may be complaining about the folks that our firm is investigating.  It also seems like there may be some "insiders" or former employees that are posting on this blog. We believe these people may still be operating under other names, and we are especially interested in finding information about current operations. It would greatly aid our investigation to hear from former employees or insiders that have knowledge of the infrastructure of the businesses or the current operations.  If this describes you, please email me directly at ertinvestigation@yahoo.com  You can remain anonymous.
