Complaint

Country: United States
I got a call on my cell phone regarding credit card debt relief. . I was transferred to nakisha,  asked if I wanted to continue, they asked for $600 or $60.00 to send me the paperwork and for the consultation. When I asked them what it was for she said they would deduct from my first payment but would not tell me what the money was for FINALLY SHE  said yes.

THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD APPLY TO MY CREDITORS BUT WHEN THEY CONVINCED ME TO RECORD MY VOICE THAN THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY A FEE FOR THE CONSULTATION!!!

. No fees should be sent to anyone for additional information requested on a company or program

she has been harrasing me telling that i have to pay this amount or else! and that they can take me to court becaues they have my voice accepting!! !  unfortunally i gave many personal information!!
what happends now??
i never signed anything!!!!

Where is the Law firm, in which you are recommending to call, located?  What if you already enrolled in the Settlement Program? What recourse is available to remedy the situation?

The same thing happened to us. We had been working with CLG for 5 months and the creditors calls had stopped.  One day out of the blue, we were served with a court summons and had been sued by the credit card company.  When I looked at my statement with Rocky Mountain Bank, only $100 had been deposited into our "trust" account to pay off the debts.  No communication had been given to the debtors.  Their listing in the phone book is very decieving, make sure you are calling Consumer Credit Counseling Service in your local area.

I experienced two companies working hand in hand. First Epik Relief or Clear Solution or Gramercy Park which screwed me out of $1,199.00. They didn't do a dam thing for me and never acknowledged my request for a refund or return any of my calls or letters. I thought I was going to review their program package but instead they put a charge through on my credit card. They said they needed security before they could send out their program information. So me like a dummy trusted them because they sounded very legit. Their address- Epik Relief, P.O. Box 40428, Maitland, FLA. 32794. Representatives: Ashley Cotten, Paula Chance. Phone # 877-281-3050.
The other they hooked me up with was a law scam company called Consumer Law Group, PA., Rep. was Nakesha Francis- 800 814 6756 Ext. 761 or 561 483 6507 or 516 886 1312, Ricky Bond, Gladys Rosta, Mr.Dennis, The Consumer Law Group, PA, 23123 US 441, Suite 235, Boca Raton Fla, 33428 . This company took $437.00 out of my account.
Smooth and slick and there's not a dam thing you can do about it other than report them which I have. FBI, Dept. of Consumer Protection both states and the Attorney Generals Office for both States. I sent my complaints in detail and I just hope someone gets these underhanded, low life thieves very soon. They seem to go after low income  people having high debt problems with no job like myself. Someone else mentioned the elderly. I think its a dam shame if they don't get caught. I praying!

just to let all know. the bbb is also a group of extortionists. if you do not pay them for an accreditation. they give you a poor rating. a friend of mine did a settlement with a company accredited by the bbb and got beat for her money. the bbb gave them an a+ rating. are you kidding me or what

the consumer law group does a great job with debt consolidation. all companies that deal with settlements have problems in that arena. keep in mind people get in trouble by falling months or even yaers behind on payments. you have to be somewhat current(no more than three months behind) for the consolidation to work

clg is not only a debt settlement company. they also do debt consolidation. matbe some of these people should not run up ten's of thousands of dollars in debt when they know they have no means to pay it back. that is fraudulent. btw i work for a debt management company and i have never dealt with such a group of mis informed people as those who call for debt relief. here is an idea. only charge what you have the means to pay

i have had good luck with the consumer law group.  i was a little hesitant at first but once the process was explained in detail i felt a lot more comfortable.  i have been a client for about a year and a half on their debt settlement program and they actually got some of my accounts settled for 20 and 30 cents on the dollar.  i had to come up with the money sooner than my programs term was but it was well worth the savings.  for those of you saying it is a scam maybe you should have just stuck with the program and not read into peoples negative thoughts.  good luck to everyone i hope you all can get debt free as i soon will be.

Consumer Law Group offers 2 different programs. A debt management service as well as a Debt Settlement Service. Debt management works with the creditors to get your interest rates lowered. Settlement works AGAINST the creditors. Settlement is what everyone thinks is fraud because the credit card companies do not recieve a payment. This company isnt fraud. Its the people that call in to the referral company and dont listen and just sign up without knowing details. And no i dont work with them, just have a lot of experience in the field. JUST MY OPINION :)

i dealt with C.C.C.S in the past and had/have no problems or complaints.unfortunatly hard times hit again and i needed there help once more.2 years had passed since i used them so i called 411 (just didnt have # anymore) and was given an 1-800 #.i called the number and spoke to a pleasant young lady.while speaking to her,i started to realize something didnt sound right so i asked her if she was with C.C.C.S,she said "no",this is CONSUMER LAW GROUP.she also told me that CLG took over c.c.c.s and that it didnt exist anymore.since 2 yrs. had gone by from the last time i used them,i figured ok,things do change with time and proceeded to set up a debt managemnt program with CLG.i paid a 1 time fee for the lawyers which was the same amount as my monthly payment to the creditors.with that fee paid,i was on my way to paying my debts off.i hadn't had any problems for a yr. 1/2,then i got layed off from work, got behind, got dropped by the creditors who started calling me everyday, multiple times from 8am-9pm,they even called my family and neighbors, trying to get ahold of me (talk about relentless.maybe i should conjure up my dead grandparents to see if they've been contacted yet).i called CLG to get things worked out and found out that i was now dealing with a company called AMERICAN CREDIT COUNSELERS (what happened to CLG) anyway,i proceeded to deal with ACC since they had my account and got things back on track except for 1 creditor (capital one) who now wanted more money.YIPEE!!!...whatever..at this point,i had,had enough.since my dealings with C.C.C.S were so positive and because i still see their offices around my local area,i decided it was time to find out the truth.this time,i did get ahold of C.C.C.S. told them about my experiences and that i was informed of their being taken over by CLG.the woman couldnt believe what she was hearing and reassured me that C.C.C.S is still on their own and does not deal with nor is affiliated with any other debt consolidation companies and that i should do some further investigating into who i have been dealing with.NOW MY MIND IS AT EASE.i will be cancelling my business dealings with ACC and starting fresh with C.C.C.S..i just wanted to share my experiences with all of you out there who may be in need of a debt management program.if you have access to C.C.C.S,i highly recommend using them,i always have in the past and now once again in the present and future.if not, then it would be to your advantage to do some research before choosing a debt management company.there are a lot of scams out there.i'm not saying that CLG and ACC are scams because i dont have proof but i do know that i am not happy after finding out that i was lied to....good luck to all of you

If you had read your contract before sending it back you would have known that there is NO guarantee that you will not be sued.  I read my contract from top to bottom before signing it and mailing it back.  It also tells you that the first amount of payments received will be used to pay the legal fees and after enough money is in your account they will begin paying creditors.  Please do not complain if you do not read something before signing it and mailing it back.

This is bull [***]. I worked with consumer law group and they did everything that they told me over the phone. All the complaints made on this complaint wire are from some other employees from different law office in order to ruin Consumer's Law Group P.A's repute amongst people. I believe this is a nice company. So stop complaining against this company.

THEY ARE A SCAM. THEY DO NOTHING AND IT COST ME $4,500 IN LAWYERS FEES UP FRONT!!!! AND THEN AFTER THAT THEY LET THE MONEY SIT, ACCUMULATE. THEY THEN INVEST THE MONEY IN RISKY STOCK MARKET VENTURES AND THEN STALL YOU WHEN IT COMES TIME TO RETURN A SMALL PITTANCE TO YOU. JUST GO BANKRUPT! IT IS SOO MUCH EASIER. FIND A GOOD LAWYER-YOU WILL HAVE TO LOOK AROUND BECAUSE THERE ARE ALOT OF SCUMBAGS OUT THERE...GOOD LUCK
DO NOT TRUST THEIR SMOOTH TALKING [***]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
