Poor service and unkempt store at Ross Dress For Less
Complaint

I used to love shopping at Ross Dress For Less. Not any more. Every time I go there, no matter where or what state, the floors are littered with merchandise, broken hangers, items on the floor everywhere, dirty and wrinkled merchandise.
The stuff is never helpful and friendly. There is always just one cashier and a line of waiting angry customers. I don't understand how this chain of clothing stores stays in business. I left the store empty handed last weekend because I just didn't have the time to wait in a line that stretched almost to the back of the store.
When we realized that the store is not opening other registers for us, I and other shoppers left the merchandise we wanted to buy and left.
I really hope they will make the necessary changes.

Gimme a break. You shop in Ross's in every state? If you were such a traveled shopper, I doubt you would be shopping at Ross's at all. Travel+ money= better department stores.
And then this; "When we realized that the store is not opening other registers for us, I and other shoppers left the merchandise we wanted to buy and left."
Do you expect me to believe that a woman (I am assuming here) would walk away from something she spent time choosing in a store that is famous for carrying limited amounts of each designer or label?
And then--the grand boycott--the other shppers all walked out, too? This would have made news somewhere.LOL, What state was that Ross's in?
Now, getting back to your campaign against Ross's--try Roseburg Oregon. Our Ross's or Ross--or whatever you want to call it-- is clean with courtious clerks and bargains galore. I pick up things I drop when I am shopping there, and apparently I am not the only one in our area, so I wouldn't know about all those hangers laying everywhere,
People who generalize when they go on their smear campaigns need to think about all the innocent merchants, clerks and store personnel they are personally and unjustly attacking when they make false statements.
One bad Ross store--even two or three--or more--does not make them all bad. Get down and dirty next time you are picking apart all those Ross Stores around the country you have visited and name some names. Consumers need to know which ones to avoid.
I did and will walk out without my purchases. I will not support a company that cannot give the common courtesy of a smile. The employees were rude, there was one cashier, the store was littered with all kinds of items. There were two floor clerks on duty and one dressing room attendant. I don't know where the manager was. I do not care what the discount is, I will not tolerate that, I will leave every time. Ross is not the only store in town that offers a deal.
You personally know this shopper? Perhaps the reason he/she is able to shop in several states is because he/she is a bargain shopper. Savings = more money = Travel.
Please read before you try to slam. The writer stated "other shoppers left" not "all the shoppers left".
You would have been better off to have simply said, "If you ever make it to Rosenburg, Oregon you should try our store. It is fabulous!!!" Your criticism causes your words to sound false.
Have fun shopping.
I do have to say that I shop there because I like a challenge, and a deal, so I still shopped, and did find a very nice suit.
You get out what you put in : )
Our stores also seemed to be understaffed. It seems there is always 2 cashiers and only one is ringing items while the other attempts to look busy.
And, yes, women will walk away after selecting an item if the line is long for numerous reasons: she could be on lunch break, she could have a child w/ her or have other plans that waiting 20 mins in line could ruin.
Btw, "Travel+ money= better department stores." That is not true. You can travel with out a lot of money. Also, being a thrifty shopper may allow the extra money to travel.
I had waited 20 minutes and walked out without buying my items.
Crap, crap crap place.
They pay on average about "50 cents" for most if not everything in their store's!. Now with that in mind!, their average gross income per weak, for most of their stores is well into the 100s of thousands or close to it!.
now with those huge profits you would think they could spend more than just a thousand buck a weak for their hole staff at a store!.
As for the different Ross stores out here in Southern CA the level of mess depends on the area some are very clean others are just too busy to keep up with the mess, Personally as long as I can find such great deals the time in line is well worth it.
