I used to love shopping at Ross Dress For Less. Not any more. Every time I go there, no matter where or what state, the floors are littered with merchandise, broken hangers, items on the floor everywhere, dirty and wrinkled  merchandise.

The stuff is never helpful and friendly. There is always just one cashier and a line of waiting angry customers. I don't understand how this chain of clothing stores stays in business. I left the store empty handed last weekend because I just didn't have the time to wait in a line that stretched almost to the back of the store.

When we realized that the store is not opening other registers for us, I and other shoppers left the  merchandise we wanted to buy and left.

I really hope they will make the necessary changes.

I will never shop at ross again. I bought a dress about 2 months ago .It cost $16.00. I lost the receipt and tried to bring it back. It had all the tags and price tags also. Never been wore. They told me i had to take the discount. It was $1.49 .. Are you kidding me. I came home and my husband called the store. It is in schaumburg  ..The manager migual said did they scan it and yes they did...That is their policy. Never never never shop at this store again. Walmart and kohls take things back without tags and receipts. Who does this store think they are. Poor and no respect for the customers. Hate this store.hope they go under

I work at Ross, and that is our store policy. Don't get mad because you lost receipt, that is your responsibility. Merchandise gets marked down quite frequently.

Go to Walmart and Kohls then.

Khols and Walmart are bigger, brand name stores. By accepting your return WITHOUT a receipt, Ross loses inventory. If you read the receipt, it clearly states you have 30 days to return for full amount. WEEKLY things are marked down in the store, and after 2 months you must know it will be marked down. You must understand it is VERY frustrating when customers bring back merchandise without a receipt and/or tags. It is store policy because everyday, and I mean every single day Ross gets customers who like to steal merchandise or bring back items not from the store to get money. Giving store credit saves the store from losing money and inventory. If you want better customer service, please shop at a higher end store. As for no respect to the customers, please remember in order to get respect you must give it. I doubt you were very nice about the price change.

    Ross Store # 0827
    3001 SW 162ND AVENUE
    Miramar, Florida 33027

I have always been a customer @ this store, I spent a lot of money in Ross. I live very close and am a shopaholic. I am a registered nurse, worked that night and stopped by Ross to do some shopping. After purchasing a few pieces of jewelry, I stopped by the perfume stand at this time Ms Patino walked up to where I was, looked at me then verbalized something to security guard in Spanish. No paying any attention to what going at that time I continued to do my shopping. Only to realize the store manager, Luz Patino instructed her security personnel Daniel to follow me around and check me out. After noticing this person in every department that I am watching me, I confronted him and asked if he was following me. That was when he walked away and mumbled something under his breath. I was very upset and hurt about the situation as I felt like I was stereotyped against. When I asked to see the manager, Ms. Patino never came to speak to me even though I asked for her specifically, her assistant was the one who came to speak to me. This lady was very prejudiced against me and this is very hurtful and embarrassing. I did not go to school earn a degree to be treated like a criminal. This is exactly how they made me feel in that store today. This was the lowest I have ever felt in all my life. I have contacted customer service I and awaiting the district manager to call me back. I need an apology and a reason from Ms Luz Patino on why she stereotyped against me and making me feel like a criminal causing me such hurt and embarrassment only because I made a choice to go into Ross to spend my hard earned money.

    just quit ross
alright all these people complaining about their ross experience are what made me quit working at ROSS. you're in there for not that long and you get sick of it. imagine how the people working there feel. especially when you're scheduled for the front end position and are stuck at the register for about 7 hours each day dealing with people's crap and their attitudes. the lines aren't the employees fault so how about you take it up with management, oh wait..they don't care or won't do anything about it either. the reason why the lines are so long and only one or two cashiers are working is because that's ALL they have for cashiers. ROSS is too cheap to put more employees on the schedule for that day/night. it's not anything we can do...if there is only one other cashier you have that's it. if you want to wait in line for the crap you're buying that you most likely don't even need, then shut up and wait. but don't complain complain and complain while you're waiting and then treat your cashier like a piece of sh*t just because you're an ignorant fu*k. I wish I could have easily given people a piece of my mind if I knew my job wasn't at risk for it. If i am ever in a ROSS and hear people b**ching and complaining I WILL TELL YOU TO SHUT UP. it's your world right, we just live in it? NO SHUT UP

Assistant store manager, waiting for S.M
I have been assistant store manager for 2 years, my coworkers love me, I have costumers that love me, I am a woman and 2 times when opportunity came for me to have the "store manager position" they gave it to somebody else. There excuse was, " you are too nice and we need a meaner person, you will get your store" yea right, just tell me you are resist and you don't like Italians. Any way it really tore me up. I been crying and all my coworkers are upset, they gave the position to a girl that dose not have experience like me and I will end up doing her job like I did with the other 2 Store managers and will never ever get the position. How to keep working like this? I like my store, my coworkers and my clientele, but the district  management above is not professional and you can't complain to anybody or you are out the door.   HELP

    Ex Ross Loss Prevention
I agree with a lot of these post Ross is a department giant that does slave their employees. I honestly used to feel sorry for those girls because they were only paid minimum wage and were forced to work long hours in order to make a living. I can't speak for all areas but in North Carolina I experienced working with three different store managers and all were PRICKS and super lazy as I have managerial experience you should never ask an employee to perform duties that you have never or aren't willing to do yourself. I'm not sure about the comment about the all African american comment because the stores I had been in were pretty diverse. But I would like for some shoppers to know that some of bad customer service wasn't a personal thing but it is because of the corporate management because that's where it starts all they so is come Evey so often and curse staff out and keep it moving so its very degrading and unmotivating for the workers and their human, so it then becomes stressful, frustrating and depressive to stay motivated. Man I could write a book on my employment with this store chain but to summarize it . I agree that I would NOT recommend anyone to apply for job If asked.

    San Ysidro, CA Ross Associate
I can relate to a lot of what the other associates have posted. I work at the Ross at the border of San Diego, CA & Tijuana, Mexico. We get a lot of people who cross the border coming from our store & all over people who travel the world so our store definitely gets pretty busy. And to the customers, us ASSOCIATES are not the ones who make the mess in the store you're fellow shoppers who are rude, disrespectful & throw everything or drop merchandise on the floor & cannot pick them back up are the ones you should be mad a & to the people saying what's up the the ac? Well I wish I knew too LOL.

There is another thing I dislike about my store is recognition. I feel like I work my ass off & make an effort to learn spanish but, it never goes noticed. Oh, yeah & the customers talk [***] to me in spanish because I only know english? but what the [***], I didn't know I had to know spanish to work at ross in america.

FYI i am not racist, I just think that's rude and close minded because I make an effort to learn.

I am complaining about an employer in your Wilshire location. Employer Maria Gonzalez used disrespectful language, bad attitude. Extremely rude and treats customers with aggressiveness and unprofessionalism. Will show her indirect accusatory comments without reason. She speaks badly of the company and used inapropiate language. I work in public relatins and in an iinterior design corp. She should not be working with public. My husband is a corporate attorney and will be writing a letter to Ross corporate division. My nephew's company as well hires and fires employers at Ross. Cbrecruiters' He will also be taking action. The store number is "450. On Wilshire blvd. Santa Monica. California. Company should beware of this.   Thanks       Sincerely. LS

A lot of you consumers need to shut up. You have no idea how the store is run. First of all, there's roughly 5-6 people who work through the whole store. Usually 3 out of 6 of those employees are cashiers. & 2 out of the 3 are mainly back-ups for when lines get busy. Now you consumers have no common [***] courtesy as to picking up after yourselves or placing things how you found them!!! I wish I could go to your houses & trash the [***] out of it & leave. I don't even want to hear that "you get paid to clean up" [***]. YES we do, but if you want fast friendly service you need to be courteous enough to be able to clean up after yourselves which in turn we'd be able to get you checked out faster, but nooooo, what we get are people who pick things up & just drop them where ever they please like it's no big deal. Guess the [***] what, it is!!! Then you want to go & complain about why the lines are long, well there's your reason. They're long because not only do we have to check out customers who have the bare minimum to full loads of baskets out, we have to pick up after your lazy [***]. Oh & this is to the people who have a loaded basket or baskets, if it's closing time & you have that much to check out, DON'T WAIT TILL LAST [***] MINUTE TO CHECK OUT. [***] IS ANNOYING!
