I used to love shopping at Ross Dress For Less. Not any more. Every time I go there, no matter where or what state, the floors are littered with merchandise, broken hangers, items on the floor everywhere, dirty and wrinkled  merchandise.

The stuff is never helpful and friendly. There is always just one cashier and a line of waiting angry customers. I don't understand how this chain of clothing stores stays in business. I left the store empty handed last weekend because I just didn't have the time to wait in a line that stretched almost to the back of the store.

When we realized that the store is not opening other registers for us, I and other shoppers left the  merchandise we wanted to buy and left.

I really hope they will make the necessary changes.

I cannot believe all this crap im reading. I  have been with the company for four years my first job out of high school and have been promoted three times. Everyone trashing ross can stick it. Its a great company to work for and shop in. Some stores dont run as well as mine maybe but thats mainly due to trashy customers who cant understand the concepts of picking up what you drop and treating others the way you want treated. Yes we do have to cut payroll, sometimes daily. We are given budgets and must meet them. We are not the government - we cant spend what we dont have! Associates in my store are highly recognized every day for the hard work they do. There are tons of programs to make up for the fact that we start at minimum wage. And the opportunities are endless- we open hundreds of new stores every year and are always looking for hard working fast paced people to keep our stores great. And keep in mind something when you see a messy store: when the merchandise goes out it is displayed perfectly. Associates and management takes a lot of pride in following our presentation guides and having a well merchandised store. Its the customers who trash the place. Maybe think twice before you post rude things about the company.. 90 percent of our customers are very rude inconsiderate thoughtless messy people.

You sound like me four years ago,I worked my way to ASM. I turned the worst store in the district the best in the district. I was termed without reason, after eight years. About four ASMs got let go in the same month, all of us having five plus years. This is common here.

Ross is absolutely the WORST money hungry company in the USA. They claim that because of obamacare no part time employee is allowed over 23 hours a week so that they will not get penalized.  When the law is clearly 29 hours. Ross is being overzealous and ridiculous thinking that anybody can live on 23 hours a week.  The DM Ellen micromanages every single thing that goes on and there is not a performance based promotion,  it is solely based on favoritism. The ASM AND SM can basically get away with anything as long as payroll does not go over. Brian a complete [***] that just got store 147 as an SM is an arrogant , racist [***] that if your skinny and cute will give you a job or promote you even if you are a [***]! They will work you like a slave  pay you minimum wage n if you complain will get you out as soon as possible!! Over half of the employees are on drugs I should say management cause thats true!! Don't shop or work here it will be waisted years of your life!

i shop frequently with your store and you, It used to be about everyday! I am blind and wanted to get a routine
down for your Denver Downtown Store on 16th and Stout.  Occasionally I place my receipts and then when I returned
something on my 6th return last year without a receipt I was told my ID can no longer take returns without a receipt.
I find that unfair and discrimminating and not very good customer service.  Most of my stuff has security tags on it
and so certainly I am not bringing back anything taken illegally out of your store.  So I want to take some blouses
I received for Christmas and they were designer and they refused them.  So I am asking that you change you policy
on returns without receipt to accomadate all people.  Respectfully  Sylvia Ocampo Wiechmann

I agree that they have no sensitivity to anyone much less the blind.  I am sorry for your difficulties with them. I find I do just as well with other stores like Kohl's with their 30% discount.

I went in to get a refund at Ross only to find that my receipt was 3 days past 30 days.  They refused to give me my money back only a store credit.  I tried to get them to give me money so I wouldn't loose or misplace the store credit.  The assistant manager would not give me her name and the cashiers name was Melissa.  The store managers name is Lorraine Smith.  I am elderly and had had a shot in my foot which I was not allowed to walk on for a week, thus making me over the 30 days.  The store is messier every time I go in there.  And, I have walked out laying my future purchases down because the lines were long and at the most 2 cashiers.  I tried to tell the assistant manager she could override the rule, because I have seen them do it before.  They have a refund rule which says each cashier has to wait on 3 paying customers before attending to returns.  With that in mind, I dreaded going in there anyway.  Well, someone should train them in customer service, especially the asst manager of the store who refused to give me her name.  I was always taught to not use the word YOU when dealing with customers or clients in my working years.  It automatically puts people on defense.  The useless asst manger voided my transaction to show me she didn't have to give me a refund.  Then I had to wait again on the slow cashier who couldn't read the receipt (because they had let the machine run out of ink) and the receipt was unreadable.  Well, I finally got my store credit spent it and will never return to that store again.  By the way, I was only given one of my packages and had to go back into the store to get the rest of my merchandise--very questionable whether it was on purpose or not.  I am sure that store is doomed with the kind of service, lack of concern, and no one to turn to when you are mistreated as a customer..

I worked at Ross for 5 years in san antonio texas, I must say it was the worst work experience of my life!! Management was horrible, making treats, gossiping, and making false accusations. Ross doesn't care how they treat there customers or employees. Customers trash the store from the moment the doors open and then complain about the mess. As a ross employee you receive abuse from the company and the customer!!!!! No one should work at such a unorganized company.

My job as a store protection specialist in oregon is pointless. (if I didn't have my child to support I would leave) We can't stop shoplifters even if we see them doing it we even let them come back in. I was told we can't ban them, then why the hell are we even there. Other S.P.S's don't even look professional they come in looking like they just got out of bed, hair messed up, full beards. Just unprofessional to say the least. Associates are rude to customers, the lines are outrageous, only one line for both purchases returns, and only two cashiers who also don't know how to dress. the store is always messy. Yeah customer could put merchandise away but that's why Ross hires associates to work. Last even when I make a suggestion to improve the store or security I get excuses why they can't I give my job a - 10 stars.

I have shopped Ross for years and as of late the return policy is the "worst" I have ever experienced in my life. For God's sake even Walmart (and all their negative publicity) have one of the best return policies. Return, no receipt, no tag, no problem and no questions asked, show ID and get store credit :)
Ross's treats you like you stole the item and try to return for cash. They used to give you store credit and this was fine. I had the "receipt" but not the tag and told I had to return it to the store I bought it at. Ross San Jose, Capitol Expwy and Aborn Rd. did this to me. Filipina manager. They don't care, they smile and say sorry, store policy from the CEO's. I do not plan on shopping at Ross's. Stores often messy, dirty. Almaden Ross is about the cleanest/neatest store in San Jose, CA. I sure hope they read all these comments and change their return policy and not make us feel like thieves for God's sake!! It's good to know that I am not the only one with these type of comments.
