I used to love shopping at Ross Dress For Less. Not any more. Every time I go there, no matter where or what state, the floors are littered with merchandise, broken hangers, items on the floor everywhere, dirty and wrinkled  merchandise.

The stuff is never helpful and friendly. There is always just one cashier and a line of waiting angry customers. I don't understand how this chain of clothing stores stays in business. I left the store empty handed last weekend because I just didn't have the time to wait in a line that stretched almost to the back of the store.

When we realized that the store is not opening other registers for us, I and other shoppers left the  merchandise we wanted to buy and left.

I really hope they will make the necessary changes.

    I am a manager at a Ross here in my state. Customers do not know how much sh*t we have to go through on a day to day basis with rude customers. We get some customers in that just talk to us how ever they feel. Just because you are having a bad day doesn't mean you can take it out on a worker! Customers sit there and call us names all day long. They see you clean something or straighten it up and without acknowleding your hard work they just mess it up. I don't understand how you can throw stuff on the floor! I'd hate to see your houses. If you take it off the hanger, put it back. If you take it off the shelf, put it back. How hard is that? The pay at Ross isn't good unless you're a store manager. I was part time for a year and half and worked me a** off daily and got passed up for promotions by people they would hire externally although I had was clearly qualified. Now that I've been promoted they want to hold me accountable for stuff I haven't done! Ross Store Managers never take the serious complaints seriously but the little ones that customers [***] about that is [***] is made a big deal! I get tired of customers wanting a discount off every little thing! You do know you're shopping at a DISCOUNT STORE now right? I don't think customers will ever see how we are treated internally and externally!!! Don't get me started on the lazy employees they hire either. They hire anyone that applys! Why have a job if you're not going to work?! As Area Supervisors the store manager makes sure we only have 3 closers! How do you expect us to clean the whole store with no one and on top of that you want us out 30 minutes after closing?! Higher up staff always gets more people, it's nor fair! Ross cuts payroll like crazy because they are greedy! You get yelled at by your DM if you're only a few dollars over on payroll! They expect us to have a perfect store but you want give us money to get people to clean up at night? You get wrote up for everything you can think of there! Next time you go into Ross and you want to be rude with a worker, think how the worker is feeling, think how you're just making their day worse by complaining! I wish Ross had a candy camera so some customers can see how ridiculous they act!!!!!

      I used to work in Ross. I have never in my life have experienced anything like this. The pay is extremely low for te work done, they cut your hours, and treat you like a slave. Oh and impretty sure the managers and supervisors steal. Oh and the customers (not all) are so disgusting and pigs... Kids running around with toys, they leave everything everywhere, they make big piles of shoes after they're done trying them on then just leave it, they change tags&steal, leave garbage everywhere, and then complaint because they have to make a line to pay.... I mean hello don't u remember having to make a line to eat lunch in school?? Or even learn manners in school?? Ugh I'm telling you kids GO TO COLLEGE SO YOU NEVER HAVE TO WORK FOR THESE B*STARDS!!!!!!!!

      I too work for a Ross. Everything the workers say is true. We have crap insurance (actually got me into debt), HORRIBLE wages (I've worked for 5 years and don't even make $10 yet), DISGUSTING customers (I've seen feces, urine, blood, vomit and even semen. Yes SEMEN), Horrible upper management (Been through 4 managers already) and yet customers expect us to be the most pleasant to them after being treated so horribly.

        Just want to add to all you frustrated Ross employees.. I have been working there almost a year now and your totally right about how they treat their employees. If only the customers new that everything we do at Ross is timed. Whether your on register or working your ass off in the stock room. They only give you such a small time to finish receiveing a truck. We get a ridiculous amount of merchandise in everyday like 5,000 pieces of clothes and 400-500 pairs of shoes and all this has to be security hard tagged by the employees. Then they only have like 8 people in the stockroom and say you have to been done with all this in like 5-6 hours. Meanwhile managers get overtime but the ones who work the hardest barely get 20 hours a week!! Wanna know why Ross is so successful? It's because they always run their store's horribly understaffed and underpaid. Poor Ross, they only made 8.9 billion dollars in profit last year!!  If only they could just afford to pay their employees!!!
