I used to love shopping at Ross Dress For Less. Not any more. Every time I go there, no matter where or what state, the floors are littered with merchandise, broken hangers, items on the floor everywhere, dirty and wrinkled  merchandise.

The stuff is never helpful and friendly. There is always just one cashier and a line of waiting angry customers. I don't understand how this chain of clothing stores stays in business. I left the store empty handed last weekend because I just didn't have the time to wait in a line that stretched almost to the back of the store.

When we realized that the store is not opening other registers for us, I and other shoppers left the  merchandise we wanted to buy and left.

I really hope they will make the necessary changes.

I guess I'm not alone in having a terrible experience at Ross. The line situation brings out the worst behavior in some people. You never know if you're in the right line and while some of the cashiers do try to tell people constantly that you can form a line at any open cashier the customers insist it is one big line for all of them. I was at the Capitola Ross in Santa Cruz this evening and I honestly didn't see the long line bending around the corner and when I went to form a line at an available cashier a woman very rudely said to me "if anyone's next it's gonna be me". I told her to relax and went to go get in line and then some rude guy in line starts talking about me saying "god lady you clearly see there is a line" and I defended myself saying that the clerks always say to form a line at any cashier and then a clerk actually spoke up and repeated what I said but the guy continued being a condescending jerk. When I yelled leave me alone he finally stopped and the pathetic end to this story is when I complained to the manager on the way out he said" I know I heard" yet he never intervened. I feel sorry for the staff that have to work in these conditions and for the customers like myself that end up having nightmare experiences. People have no right to pick on each other in a public place over simple misunderstandings and there was one kind woman behind me that I wished there could be more like her. To the rude man that thought he had a right to be such a jerk to me-someday he will get his karma and to the lazy store manager the same.

You idiots wait in long lines because the owner is a Jew and cuts any payroll corners he can to benifit his wallet. I have worked there for 2 years and still make minimum wage. No promotion for anyone because they will hire outside before they promote. All you complaining customers can blow me

I work in retail and i can tell you that i understand the employees at Ross. I know how it feels to have customers throw things around not caring who has to clean it up. I also understand that customers can be very ignorant and don't understand certain things in retail. I can tell you one thing the Ross that i went to the service was horrible. My mother wanted to return something but she didn't have the receipt, but she had the bank receipt. The lady told her she had to know the exact time and the exact register she got it at.Why?! because it would take a long time to look it up on the computer isn't that your job??? and she didn't even tell her nicely she was talking to my mom as if she was an idiot then the lady at the register chuckled. We understand the policy but they shouldn't have done that to my mother.

Actually, only managers can look up receipts on the computers in the back. If she wanted store credit she could have done this at the register, but associates are not allowed to look up receipts (if she wanted the money back in her hand/on her card)

Ross in Montgomery takes tags off items after ringing them up.  I guess this is so you will have a hard time returning them.  Last year I bought several pairs of pants and found the tag in the back pocket of some and missing from others.  I had the same problem yesterday with no tag at all for a gown.

its the security sensors. the tags are sometimes attached by them and when they remove the sensor it will let the tag fall off and prob get lost on the floor.

I just came back from Ross at Hilltop (Klose Way) and bought 3 pairs of jeans. Anita the cashier just tossed everything in a small bag without folding them - just stuck them in a small bag. When I requested Anita to fold them she snapped back and said she's not getting paid to fold the merchandise - just get the line fast. But there was only 2 people on line!! And when I ask for the manager, the manager just looked at me dazzled,

I hope you know those clothes come stuffed in gigantic boxes along with home apparel. Picture a little bit of everything in that store Jammed into a box. And you're worried about them being folded nicely!? And why, don't you wash before you wear? You are shopping in a discount store... Either shut up or go to dillards. You probably would be complaining if you were waiting in line and the cashier was taking her time to fold.

The problem with Ross stores is they make too much money for the managers, district manager,
CEO's etc. and they don't work but 35 to 40 hours and count their time from home to home.  How
is that correct or proper???  They pay the associates and assistant managers much, much less,
actually the wage of a slave.  I will not shop Ross and hope they get so many lawsuits and news
reports about their unprofessional policies and procedures that no one will work for them and have
to pay out millions of dollars in claims and they can go broke...... or ask for a BAIL OUT!!!  CEO,
MANAGERS, DISTRICT MANAGERS, ACCOUNTANTS, PERSONNEL, ETC. (all you so called
top management) need to stop being so cruel and devils.  GOD WILL GET YOU!!!!!!
