From Kim

Hey Moron's.. Some of you are really stressed out about a few phone calls.

I used to work for iQor Canada Ltd. (formally CBCL) for about a year.
Here's the deal:

It IS a real company and they are not scamming anyone for personal info. What happens is numbers get reassigned sometimes as quickly as 4 months. Your best bet is to call the number back (iQor has several different offices for a total of well over 25 numbers in total - prob a load more, I just know about 25 or so.) Give them your number (they need this in order to trace where it is they are calling - they cannot remove your number if you do not tell them what number it is they are dialing seeing as how there are over a million in each of their databases). They will then use your number to bring up an account - if the name on the account is not yours, tell them that the number has been reassigned to you and that you would like it to be removed. They WILL do so and are required by law to remove ANY number (even if it is yours) if you tell them that you do not want any more calls agian. If the account that they find Is in fact in your name, then they have a collection issue with you. IF you refuse to cooperate and the account is yours, then they will follow up and look for their money, etc. If you honestly feel that you do not owe this money but all the info is yours, they will help you out with figuring out how to fraud account was opened.

So we are all Moron's?
WELL THANKS KIM. We can sure tell you used to work for iQor Canada Ltd. (formally CBCL) for about a year. But why only a year? Were you not rude enough to us consumers? Did you quit or get laid off?

Learn to spell- it's BELIEVE, not beleave; and it's FED up, not fet up!  If you're going to complain about collection agencies just doing their jobs of recovering money and lets get real here, money that has been essentially stolen and REFUSAL to pay it back and playing childish games, you should put your energy into doing something to solve the problem like a civil person not yelling like a monkey. And, I cannot stress enough, learn to spell!

Well here's a news flash for the person who says they will remove your number. I have had numerous calls from Iqor Canada telling me I owe them money to do with a deliquent acct with rogers. The address they provided I have never lived at (at the same address for 10 yrs) Plus on 3 different occasions the date of birth was a different year each time. They told me they would remove my number, only to call it back a few weeks later. Then they called my mother's number (live at the same address but different numbers) and threatened her if I didnt pay the amt owing. She is 80 yrs old for god's sake. Then when her PSW got on the phone they discussed my private information with her. I have placed a formal complaint and if they call my number one more f****** time I am laying charges of harrassment..So stop telling ppl that they will remove your number...

I called about 30 numbers before I got ahold of someone - an actual person!!!  Call 1-877-503-2115.  I cannot believe that IQOR is in the collection business because I have never had more diffculty contacting a company.  I was on hold for over an hour twice and got disconnected...

I am recieving up to eleven calls a day from IQOR for a debt which is past the statute of limitations for collecting.

The law states that it is illegal to phone more than 3 times a day. It does not state that that allowance is only if the collector has actually spoken to you, verified personal information or otherwise. Those rules are only IQOR's personal interpretation of the law.  If anyone from IQOR wishes to challenge me on that then please post the section of the law that states that. I have verified my information as well with both my sister and brother-in-law who are both lawyers. The law simply states three phone calls a day, PERIOD!

I am physically handicapped and also have sleep apnea which means that not only do I have to remove my sleep apparatus but also use my walker to get to the phone every time they phone and because of the apnea I do not have regular sleep hours.  I am on full disability ( ODSP) which is excempt from garnishment.

I was called once when my nurse was here administering my health care and when I told them that I couldn't talk to them at that time they called me a liar at which point my nurse took the phone to verify that information and thy called her a liar.

On another occasion I was told " it's your own fault that you are disabled" When I asked the caller for her name she refused, as the other callers have done repeatedly.

I refuse to deal with these rude, inconsiderate collectors anymore. This company under their previous name had serveral class action law suits filed against them for their collection pratices.

I have decided that I will at this point take this up with the CEO of the company and if I do not get results I am contacting the media. IQOR's collection practices are in violation of the REAL law regarding the guidlines for what is considered harrassment.

#1. This bill is past the statute of limitations.
#2. My disability cheque cannot be garnished so stop threatening me with that.
#3. It is in violation of the law for a collector to insult a client, refuse to give their name, or threaten a lawsuit unless they fully intend to lodge one.

I suggest that anyone else being unduly harrased by this collection agency contact the CEO and president Vikas Kapoor at 646-274-3030 ex: 30730440 and also the IQOR Consumer Advocacy Group at 1-800-811-4214 and then start contacting the media about their collection practices.

A little negative media attention might get their CEO's attention because trying to be civil with these collectors certainly doesn't work.

These guys at Iqor are a joke, they rude and unprofessional, i have a debt that I will honour when i can. Now i realise it is their job to call and try and collect. Having said that, whoever trained and/or hired the goons that work for them did their company a disservice. I have yet to talk to one collection agent at this compnay i deem worthy of my money (to which he will be able to post a % towards his/her quota which his/her bonus for that month is dependant). I am a patient man though and I will wait for that diamond in the rough. Best thing you can do to this jokers is waste their time, if you dont have the money to pay them back pretend like you do keep them on the line while you look for your "credit card" to "pay them". Prank call them, the more you call them the less likely they are to call you.  These collectors are under pressure to get money in the door use that to your advantage string them along call them back promise to pay and then dont, general they have to work up a list of all expected payments for the week and submit it to their team leader) promise to pif (pay in full) and then do pay at all this will hurt there pride and their reliabilty in their team leaders eyes. If we all do these things we could really make a dent. Cpmputers hackers brings down websites through ddos which is basicallt net bots trying to clog up traffic on their site. Well a phone system can only handle so many calls at once ( some as few as 100 some newer voip can takes 1000's) regardless, if we were all playing games with this company phoning them constantly making false promises then we could make that same differnce make their numbers look horrible.  All these things will piss these people off to no end. Collections industry is a revolving door with collectors jumping from company to company trying to hit their quota's barely making a living. Another thing you have to realise about collectors is they do get yelled at all day they do get called names all day long, wether they want to believe it or not that effects their personality hence why most collectors are [***], they dont have the will power to deflect this negativity and they take it personally. So i say have some fun with them spam call them, ask them how their day was, tell them about your trip to disneyland with the kids, let them know their english is horrible, let them know they are the scum.

ps they are all immigrants or underachievers that can't hack it in the professional world hence why they work in the circus industry known as collections.

First of all, I would like to start by saying you sound pretty immature! Obviously, if you have a debt someone is going to try to get the money back for the client!  That wasn't your money to begin with, it was lent under a contract that you would pay it back plus any interest and fees. It's not a collectors fault, your account ended up in their office. It's your fault. Most people get upset and deflect all wrong doings onto the collector.  Do I agree with some people's approach to collecting...no.
I was a collector....I have a double major in Pre-Law and Communications with a minor in Sign Language. To say that collectors are all immigrants and unintelligent is false! I took the job because just like everyone else...I have bills to pays...it's a job.  A lot of people think collectors are after them, so they can get a huge bonus check. However, I was only paid by the hour and given health benefits.
I respect your opinion, but in my estimation if you put as much time and effort into paying your bills, as you do in figuring out ways to screw people...you probably wouldn't have any debt.

Sleazebag creditors such as iQor can go [***] themselves.
Every person they contact should respond with:
'Prove that you owe the debt, I would like a copy sent to <address>'
This puts the onus on their [***] little company which obviously does not keep records.

When they cannot prove they own the debt and are still harrassing you; take them to small claims court for $250 every call ($20 filing charge). You will win by default as they will never contest.

    Bye bye iQor

I realize that people are upset, but is it really necessary to be racist and make rude remarks about these people not being Canadian or white. cuz i have dealt with a white man as well and they can be just as rude....and so you know i am a white Canadian female. everyone is entitled to their opinion but does it always have to be racial slurs.

Call them up, and get as many details on the company, agent etc. Then submit a complaint against the comapny with CRTC (Do Not Call list). Once this comapny gets slapped with a few fines of $10K+, calls should stop automatically.

I have a huge issue with this company. They call here multiple times per day. I answer the phone, they will not provide me with any information. Not who the account is through, not the amount of money, they will not mail me anything, though when I ask they say they can not confirm the mailing address. I refuse to provide them with my address or any info simply because if I actually have a real account with them, they have the info. I have had my credit card number stolen previously even though I am extremely careful, I will not risk having it done again. If I really owe them money wouldn't they tell me how much and when and which company? I mean do they really expect me just to give them my credit card without them verifying anything? From all of my research with this company it really does seem sketchy. I have called them after seeing the number on my phone and they hang up on me. When I ask questions about the account they say I have, they hang up on me.

bucky I don't owe the money!  Stupid Rogers decided to charge me an EXTRA month for internet and phone when I gave them 30 days notice.  So don't assume all of us owe Iqor money.  I had outstanding debts.  Guess what?  I paid them!  I just paid off one a few months ago.  So stop assuming everyone owes the debt.  Frankly you guys don't do research and you guys even call neighbours, family and friends about the person's debt.  This is highly illegal.  Asking for people's personal information?  Are you crazy?  Who in their right mind will give someone their personal information.

When I ask these Iqor guys for their name they refuse but buy law I have the legal right to ask.  Calling me 20 times a day doesn't cut it.  LOL I just call them back to play their stupid little games.  I annoy the heck out of these people who try to upset me.  Best thing to do if you get calls is to email to omb@iqor.com.  Give the phone number and name and request to stop calling and ask them to contact you by email or snail mail only.  If they don't comply then you can complain to the proper authorities to have them fined.
