Hey Moron's.. Some of you are really stressed out about a few phone calls.
I used to work for iQor Canada Ltd. (formally CBCL) for about a year.
Here's the deal:
It IS a real company and they are not scamming anyone for personal info. What happens is numbers get reassigned sometimes as quickly as 4 months. Your best bet is to call the number back (iQor has several different offices for a total of well over 25 numbers in total - prob a load more, I just know about 25 or so.) Give them your number (they need this in order to trace where it is they are calling - they cannot remove your number if you do not tell them what number it is they are dialing seeing as how there are over a million in each of their databases). They will then use your number to bring up an account - if the name on the account is not yours, tell them that the number has been reassigned to you and that you would like it to be removed. They WILL do so and are required by law to remove ANY number (even if it is yours) if you tell them that you do not want any more calls agian. If the account that they find Is in fact in your name, then they have a collection issue with you. IF you refuse to cooperate and the account is yours, then they will follow up and look for their money, etc. If you honestly feel that you do not owe this money but all the info is yours, they will help you out with figuring out how to fraud account was opened.
So we are all Moron's?
WELL THANKS KIM. We can sure tell you used to work for iQor Canada Ltd. (formally CBCL) for about a year. But why only a year? Were you not rude enough to us consumers? Did you quit or get laid off?

I got an automated call from an iqor Canada and that I should phone them back because of an urgent matter...
I did. I asked politely what the nature of their business was? The response the person gave me was "can I have your phone number" My response was "I will give you my phone number if you tell me the nature of your business"...as you can tell this went back and forth several times with me refusing to give out my personal information. Oh and by the way I phoned from my cell phone with out blocking it!!
Now I've had debt collectors after me about 10 years ago and first of all none of them used an automated phone system. Second when they did talk to me on the phone the person had my information and asked me questions to confirm that he/she had the right person. Third they introduced to me who they were, what they did, and who they were collecting for. Therefore I had no problem answering personal information about myself.
So since that time I have gone through a debt consultation, a non-profit organization to help me out with my debt's (I paid everyone back and had a bad credit rating for 6yrs) Now I've re-built my credit rating and no longer have financial troubles. Pay my bills on time etc.
So why would a Collection agency not tell me they are a collection agency without me giving them my phone number?
Do you not have call display at your phone centers? (cause I got nothing to hide I don't block my calls)
Oh and I did phone back several times asking what the nature of the business I'm calling and one response was "risk management company"
I also told the so called collector my name but refused to give my number and I still was not told that it was a collection agency.
I will refuse to deal with a company that uses this type of tactic. Seems very fishy to me when all they have to do is look at their call display (especially when I point out that I'm calling from my phone).
My personal experience with debt collectors and in my opinion all bottom feeders with bullying tactics. Sad pathetic way to make a buck and I'm guessing the employees working for them got interviewed in jail. Cause the methods being used are acts of organized crime.
If Iqor is ligit why won't they tell me what they do when I phone back?
Any ligit company has no issue's with saying what they do!
Thanks for your time and have a great day.
