From Kim

Hey Moron's.. Some of you are really stressed out about a few phone calls.

I used to work for iQor Canada Ltd. (formally CBCL) for about a year.
Here's the deal:

It IS a real company and they are not scamming anyone for personal info. What happens is numbers get reassigned sometimes as quickly as 4 months. Your best bet is to call the number back (iQor has several different offices for a total of well over 25 numbers in total - prob a load more, I just know about 25 or so.) Give them your number (they need this in order to trace where it is they are calling - they cannot remove your number if you do not tell them what number it is they are dialing seeing as how there are over a million in each of their databases). They will then use your number to bring up an account - if the name on the account is not yours, tell them that the number has been reassigned to you and that you would like it to be removed. They WILL do so and are required by law to remove ANY number (even if it is yours) if you tell them that you do not want any more calls agian. If the account that they find Is in fact in your name, then they have a collection issue with you. IF you refuse to cooperate and the account is yours, then they will follow up and look for their money, etc. If you honestly feel that you do not owe this money but all the info is yours, they will help you out with figuring out how to fraud account was opened.

So we are all Moron's?
WELL THANKS KIM. We can sure tell you used to work for iQor Canada Ltd. (formally CBCL) for about a year. But why only a year? Were you not rude enough to us consumers? Did you quit or get laid off?

    LOL@iqor
bucky I don't owe the money!  Stupid Rogers decided to charge me an EXTRA month for internet and phone when I gave them 30 days notice.  So don't assume all of us owe Iqor money.  I had outstanding debts.  Guess what?  I paid them!  I just paid off one a few months ago.  So stop assuming everyone owes the debt.  Frankly you guys don't do research and you guys even call neighbours, family and friends about the person's debt.  This is highly illegal.  Asking for people's personal information?  Are you crazy?  Who in their right mind will give someone their personal information.

When I ask these Iqor guys for their name they refuse but buy law I have the legal right to ask.  Calling me 20 times a day doesn't cut it.  LOL I just call them back to play their stupid little games.  I annoy the heck out of these people who try to upset me.  Best thing to do if you get calls is to email to omb@iqor.com.  Give the phone number and name and request to stop calling and ask them to contact you by email or snail mail only.  If they don't comply then you can complain to the proper authorities to have them fined.

I have also been recieving calls from IQuor numerous times a day even though I pay them every month like I agreed to.  I had to change my number to get them to stop calling.  They are the MOST unprofessional agents I have ever delt with in my life.  They do not speak english or french very well and are incredibly rude.  I call them from time to time (to check up on how much money I have left to pay, since they never send me anything acknowledging that I am paying the bill), and I am greated with threats.  i understand that these `"scare tacticts" work on some people who wont pay their debt, but to someone who is paying it off fairly quickly it has the opposite effect. Î don`t see the need to be rude to someone calling for information on how to pay off the debt faster, it just doesn`t make sense. On one occasion I called to tell them that I was leaving the country for a few weeks so I would be making 2 payments in the same month and none the fallowing month because I would be gone and for them to make a note of that, the agent threatened that if I didn`t pay off the entire debt that he could stop me from leaving the country!  I couldn`t help but laugh at this guy, I think the "power" has gone to his head.  I only wish I had recorded the conversation.  Good luck to everyone still dealing with these pricks.  I used to work in collections for a small company a few years ago and not once did I have to be as rude as they are.

You are the reason collections people are the way they are. If you would pay your bills they wouldn't get sent to a collections company and you wouldn't have people calling you.

And you wonder why the workers are so rude, it's because of people like you. They are just doing their job you are the f**k up apy your bills on time!

There are several Iqor locations I worked at the one in the Minnesota 99% of the people speak English as there primary language. Not all collection agents are rude but why would you be nice to someone who like the posting above make sexual remarks and just try to play games with you while your trying to do your job. Pay your bills and you wouldn't have peopling calling you!

If you continue to receive calls and you have asked them to stop,   check the FDCPA laws on the Internet.  It has all the statutes to protect us as consumers.

Well I have been contacted by this Iqor Canada for a debt they said I owed on my HSBC card. I do owe money and they were harassing me like crazy. I now have the money to pay them and just out curiosity I called HSBC, they then told me they do not send their collections to any 3rd party company. So I dont know who to believe, like if this company Iqor is a scam or not. I just want to pay this off but I am not paying a company I have no trust in.

Just started getting calls from these jokers this week.  I knew immediately that it was BS when they asked for my partner's name.  He has NO credit or outstanding bills in his name.  All of our bills, mortgages, car loans and credit are in MY name as my credit is perfect.  And I know this because I regularly get credit reports on both of us (something everyone should do on a regular basis). The foreigner who called here didn't get far, as I am essentially like a guard dog when it comes to getting through to my family members on the phone.  I asked him multiple questions as to what his name was, who he was representing, what the nature of his call was, etc.  I informed him that since he called me, and I pay all the bills around here, that he wasn't getting past me until he answered my questions, which he refused to do.  And he'll get the same treatment each and every time he calls my home, only I get more aggressive as time goes on.  So what's all this crap everyone says about 'just pay your bills and they won't have to call'?  These guys have NOTHING on us.  IQOR can suck it.

I've been getting calls from this company, maybe 3 times a day. I called today after reading the comments here and the one that I talked to said he has removed the number from their system and it will take 24 hours for it to take effect. So I'll see if that happens.

I got daily calls from these guys for 3 weeks on my house phone. I work from 7am-5pm, Mon to Fri so when they call at 2pm, of course no one will answer. So they left messages, always stating my name and simply saying to call them. It took them about 8 messages before they even left the company name. Then took about another week before they left the phone number. How the hell am I supposed to call these jokers back without a number? Whatever. Eventually, they managed to (very illegally) track down my unlisted, unmentioned work number (we can be severely reprimanded just for giving out these numbers) and I finally spoke with this broad. I know my debts and who deals with each one (like my car loan for example) so my first thought was "Wtf, what could I possibly owe that a new collector is involved?" and I thought my car, which I know for a fact has never gone into arrears. Turns out, they dug up an old debt I have on a credit card that got racked up and forgotten about while I was in the hospital, hoping my infant son wouldn't die in my arms. I had settled out a payment plan with that specified bank to deal with. Now, they are demanding I immediately deposit $900 to an account of their choosing, rather than to the bank directly. What? They also insisted they forwarded me three letters explaining the matter, none of which I got! Also, three letters from Sept 6th to Oct 6th is a little excessive, no? So I "worked out" a new payment plan with them, but told them I want a verified letter either mailed to me ASAP or faxed to me same day before I would pay a cent, otherwise, I was going to continue with my bank approved payment plan and continue paying said bank. Two days later, I get an email from them stating where to send the money to. No mention of our "arrangement", no company logos on the email, no signed letter like I requested, he couldn't even use proper capitalization or punctuation. But supposedly he's a "VP" for the company. I'm very suspicious and continue with what I've been doing until they can prove the legitimacy of this. I emailed back stating as such. They can suck my tail pipe if they think they're getting a cent out of me without verifying a [***] load of information first!!

They rached me because I owe money and we talked it out. During the conversatin he changed the date back and forth and i had to keep correcting him. He really didnt know what he was doing. Then after it was all settled i received another call back from a woman about two hours later. Ok well maybe shift change or something and name still on list. lol same girl called back twice after that in the same day and i had to keep telling her i spoke to so and so already.lol They may be a real company but i sure as heck had to investigate it because i wasnt paying some company that was so unproffesional. The way they spoke and the lack of information they had was weird. So change your workers because they ( or a few) are not doing anything but making people run from you. I will be paying my bill but i should not have felt that uneasy about a company.

However still vry sketchy. People wont pay when they dont trust you. Wrong company to hire to collect stuff for you because it makes people not answer the phone.
