I've been getting a $16.95 charge to my Discover Credit Card for several months now.  I do not recall making any charges to any such service.  They say 'membership' when I tried to call the number that shows up: 888-833-7279 and the voice recorded message says 'Thank you for calling membership services.  We are unavailable at this time.  Call back during business hours....'  This seems to be what I get regardless of the time I call.

The full information that shows up on my billing is:
WC *VALUE PLUS 888-833-7279 MN 89463225 12

In looking this up on the internet, I see that I am not alone in these type charges.  I also do not know how they got my information to make such charges.

I would like to cancel and have my money refunded.

my sister was a victim of this wc *valueplus 888-833-7279 and wc *valueplus 888-642-0241 transactions, each month charging 16.95 to her citibank card.  It was too late when we found out because that scam has already charged the card more than $350 on her card account.  so beware, check your card statement everytime.

if you call the number 888-833-7279 they will cancel the account that you never signed up for and they claim they are sending me a form to fill out to try to get my money refunded - but i don't really believe that - the only way to be sure they aren't charging you anymore is to make your bank aware of what is going on so that they stop approving the charge.

    File complaints in writing anyway.

Check into VISA, MasterCard, and Citibank's claimed "no liability for fraudulent charges" policies.

Also file a complaint with your local police, and with FTC's Sentinal system, for credit card fraud and id theft.  Using your credit card number to put charges on your credit card without authorization is id theft, since a credit card number is a "means of identification" under 18 USC S1028.

Because FTC has recently cracked down on a "list broker" that was selling consumer bank account and credit card numbers to other "businesses" that were using them to place unauthorized charges, give FTC a call and see if they are getting a lot of complaints against "wc *valueplus" for ACH fraud.

I recieved a voucher from value plus, thanking me for my membership. Like you I dont know how I signed up. But here is a number to call. 1-800-475-1942. They just asked for my name and address. They are to send e-mail conformation. The Rip-off report has good info on getting money refunded.

I was charged 3 times in the amount of 19.95.  I was also charged 49.95 twice. One is under the WC Value and the other is under the name HCPGOLD.com I never ordered anything from these people.  I also was told I would be refunded after I get the form in the mail. Needless to say, that never happened.

The same thing happened with me. I've called my credit card company to cancel my account and I'm setting up a new one, with a different card. I called both American Leisure and Easy Saver (the numbers listed on my statement) and it was the exact same automated message. There was no option of speaking to an actual member service employee or anything. So we'll see what happens. The security department of my credit card company, though, was very gracious and told me to leave off the fraudulent charges when I make my next payment. I'm disputing the charges, and it looks like they'll be refunding me account. Still, it's been a ridiculous pain, and it's still not certain that I'll get my money back.

same here _after noticing homeplay charged 19.95 and value plus charged 19.95 off my debit card i looked further and discovered that 2 more 19.95 charges in october 07, i called and they say they will send me something and i advised them if my money was not back on my account by today 12-27-07 i was calling the attorney general and reporting this to my bank. this is very close to idenity theft. we should all get together and file a class action suit against these people, my email is swiftsesser@aol.com, if you want to start a suit write me and i will see about getting an attorney to handle this matter.

They keep taking money from honest people and they think it's possible for them to get away with it. Not anymore. They took money from me and now I will put them out of business. They took money from a wrong person. May God help them.

You can add me to the many who have been scammed by WC Value Plus.  It went on for 4 months (at $16.95 per month) before I noticed it.  I contacted my bank, Bank of America, and they credited me 2 of the payments.  I am trying to get the other 2 payments from these fraud artists.

The reason why these charges go on for months or even years without people noticing is because its a small amount (i.e. $16.95) every month, which is not noticeable when you have a balance much larger then that.  A credit card statement doesn't contain a lot of information about a company and company names are often abbreviated.  My wife and I share a card so I thought this something she signed up for.  But after finding out that she didn't, I tried finding out who these guys are online and found all the complaints.

I really don't know how these people sleep at night.  They are fully aware that they are taking money from hard working people without their consent.  I guess this is how it is with telemarketers so people need to be aware of when they give their credit card number.  This happened to us after my wife gave our credit number over the phone to order a product.

be careful when ordering from telephone services, like radio or tv infomercials...those companys will offer you two gift cardsfor value + or vacation passport, which are $1 a piece, 2 dollars for 50 dollars in gift cards, and if you say yes then you are signed up for provell at  $19.95 a month for value + and $19.95 for vacation passport... i know this because i do telemarketing, and used to sell it until i realized what it was and stopped... my company is now taking it off of our sales sheet so we cannot sell it anymore... it is ruining company names, and we are a good company too and thats why i say always say no to cheap gift cards! :-) AND ALWAYS READ OR HAVE A LAWER READ TERMS OF AGGREEMENTS THOROUGHLY! there are new tricks every day that again are ruining good company's names... so stay smart and safe with buying and ordering nowadays and have a good day!

Same thing with the charges: here is my story, sent my wife flowers by internet, ProFlowers.com, next month charge was for 1.95, the following months 14.95 charged to account. Until I found out and canceled the Visa card, and got a new one, the credit card company should and will work with you. But only way to stop charges is to CANCEL your card. I am down about $160.  When I called the company EasySAVER (should be called easy spender) they asked for more information and another card number "so they could refund my money", I declined and I am going to pursue other routes for recovering my money.  Basically when you use the internet to make purchases be careful with the transactions.
