Will make this short and sweet, I hope.
Bought a timeshre in 2006, havent been able to use it as husband works away. We were shown a resort we were told we could use as we didnt like the one we were buying into. So.... we try and use it two years later, and find out that they want us to pay $410 a  night per person ontop of the $10,000USD we have paid to stay anywhere. They dispute they showed us this resort, they dispute they didnt tell us we had to pay more once they admitted we were shown the resort. And so the saga goes on. We have been told we can have 2 free weeks there, which will come to the equivalent of the price we paid originally. Why would we want to do that, it doesnt solve the problem of having to pay more if we want a holiday there. Now we wait as we want out of this whole sorry mess. It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Husband is retiring this month and we thought we would be able to use our RCI membership without doubt as we bought into the higher levels of timeshare. Tried to find a place to go before February 2009, we have been told there is nothing on our side of the world. So we cant use the Royal Bali Club we cant use RCI. Well we can if we forever pay more, what was the point of paying into something we thought we would have for life and no more expense apart from air travel.
So people out there, beware Royal Bali Club and RCI. The directors and President must be laughing all the way to the bank.

    pihak royal tidak akan memaksa anda untuk membayar bila anda ingin cancel, tetapi mereka akan menawarkan type membership yg lebih pendek periodenya yaitu 5thn... jika bapak memaksa cancel... Bapak akan kehilangan DP Bapak, untuk menghentikan pembayaran kedepannya, bapak cukup matikan saja kartu kredit bapak yg dipakai untuk jaminan pembayaran cicilan... mudah2an membantu

    I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE'S STILL ALOT OF PEOPLE BUYING THIS SHITSHARE AND STILL FALLING FOR THIS, LET ME TELL YOU.. THERE ARE NO BENEFITS AT ALL IF YOU OWN TIMESHARE, INFACT YOU'LL GET RIP OFF BECAUSE YOU CAN GET SAME HOLIDAYS WITH SAME ACCOMODATION BUT WITH LOWEST COST OUT THERE, AND YOU GONNA HATE YOUR SELF FOREVER BY PURCHASED THIS.. FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY DID, JUST CANCEL IT AND DO NOT PAY FURTHER BILLS BUT WORST THING WORST YOU GONNA LOSE YOUR DOWN PAYMENT..

    Yes we also signed up after 5 hours with high pressure sales people, but I insisted on the 21 day cooling off contract as I told them I needed to check into Royal Resorts for all the good it will probably do.
    We paid $1200 deposit how do we go about getting our deposit back. Has anyone been successful.

    This happened end September and we live in Perth.

    We paid a deposit of $1200AUD end of sept'11 but insisted on the 21 day cooling off contract to do some checking. After checking I found that we do not feel Royal Resorts are all they claim to be.
    Of course we also sat through 5hrs of high pressure sales people and were
    frankly exhausted and just gave into them in the end, thinking we will get our deposit back if we find that we are not happy with the product.

    From what I am hearing getting our deposit back is going to be hard work, what should we do.

      I just wanted to let you all know our complaint was rectified by royal resorts and our deposit was refunded.
      I do advise people to check everything out first and requesting a 21 day cooling off period to do this.

    I honestly cannot see what all the fuss is about. I have had my membership for 5 years and have been to many places. Obviously I had to pay an exchange fee for my week in Goa but I still see the benefits of my membership. My wife and I also did a cruise which we got at half price for joining. Please people if you are going to holiday give it a go. If you don't then why oh why did you join? Bunch of drama queens

    Just wondering how you went with your complaints? Did you manage to get out of teh contract & get your money back. I am in the process of trying this, having only paid a deposit and was hoping for a bit of advice.

      Think yourself lucky it was only 1200 you have thrown away.we paid 20,000 last year with a maintenance fee of 800 a year to stay in one of there run down resorts.they are now selling fresh air because you can't get in to jimbaran .we are going to stop paying the fee & kiss our money goodbye!what a ripoff.you must be a proud Australian John spence!and by the way all those sales people areworking illegally in Bali,I met the bloke who got there paperwork stamped.

      Our maintenance fee is outrageous 800 year ,the resorts aren't worth that to stay a week let alone the 20,000 we paid up front.we talked to other people in the resort & they all had different packages.we were later told that they go on your salaries  so don't tell the a/holes you work in the mines!

      I was told by a salesman in competition with royal that if you stop paying the maintenance fee they can't do anything because it was brought In Indonesia .That's what were going to do.There you go mr spence have another 20,000 from a fellow Australian .([***])
