Will make this short and sweet, I hope.
Bought a timeshre in 2006, havent been able to use it as husband works away. We were shown a resort we were told we could use as we didnt like the one we were buying into. So.... we try and use it two years later, and find out that they want us to pay $410 a  night per person ontop of the $10,000USD we have paid to stay anywhere. They dispute they showed us this resort, they dispute they didnt tell us we had to pay more once they admitted we were shown the resort. And so the saga goes on. We have been told we can have 2 free weeks there, which will come to the equivalent of the price we paid originally. Why would we want to do that, it doesnt solve the problem of having to pay more if we want a holiday there. Now we wait as we want out of this whole sorry mess. It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Husband is retiring this month and we thought we would be able to use our RCI membership without doubt as we bought into the higher levels of timeshare. Tried to find a place to go before February 2009, we have been told there is nothing on our side of the world. So we cant use the Royal Bali Club we cant use RCI. Well we can if we forever pay more, what was the point of paying into something we thought we would have for life and no more expense apart from air travel.
So people out there, beware Royal Bali Club and RCI. The directors and President must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Husband and I fell victim, I said no no no all the way up there price went from $35k to $9k plus 4 free holidays, we were pushed into a corner by 2 salesman to sign a contact, we did and went back to hotel n googled as I still felt uneasy about it all..we only paid part deposit and wondering if we stop paying will they just leave us alone? (I won't be answering emails or phone calls) losing $900 from our home deposit is killing me and now know it's a scam with [***] accommodation!! We also found that as we drive past royal resort here in Bali n it looked horrible! If anyone can shred some light on this that would be great!

We attended a presentation in October 2014 with the Royal Resorts in Bali.  We did not fall into the trap as we had attended a few time share type of presentations. We were tricked to attend the session of One hour by a salesperson and ended up spending four hours.  I did mention to Royal Resorts that I would like to read reviews of this some more. Looks like it is no different than other timeshares, etc.  The maintenance fees would keep going up.  You can buy some of these timeshares/clubs at a fraction of the cost on eBay or other sites. One could even rent these resorts from other owners at a reasonable cost.  So why part with the money upfront (which mainly goes to Sales group and administration).  The Clubs are maintained on maintenance costs and annual membership fees.
Some of the young people are so susceptible.  We completed a three week tour of Indonesia, including 7 days in a resort in Ubud for a fraction of the cost (no maintenance, food costs that we can afford) for less than $2200 per person including airfare from Canada.

I have read this thread from beginning.  It seems the easiest way to avoid it is not buy into it. But hindsight is a [***].I guess the next way would be just dont pay. Yep. Lose deposit.  Cancle credit card. Fob them off. Or the most best way to get a result is to contact them, complain, tjen say you're going to expose them on social media.  Get there name shamed world wide. Be very firm when explaining you're going to make sure this gets out everywhere.  Thinking from a business perspective,  you can't get business if no one will deal with you. Get it out there expose them. I think you will het your results.

I would love the opportunity to contact them, but all the contact details available to me on the contract are defunct. Email bounces straight back; 4 telephone numbers have been disconnected; no one responds to messages sent via the feedback link on their web site. If anyone has contacted them successfully, I would appreciate the info!

We signed up in Bali in Feb. since being back in oz I have tried to contact the group for clarification of the free offer of a European cruise. My email address was not recognised, so I couldn't log on; there was no record on my paperwork of a membership number; I sent an email via their feedback link on the "official" site and had no reply; I emailed to the address on our contracts and it bounced back, I called all 4 of the telephone numbers on the contract and they have all been disconnected! Does anyone have contact details that actually connect to a rep from the company? I am seriously p....d.

All of you, plz cancel your cards with your bank at earliest, so at least they can not debit your account for future payments. I think we all are biggest fool of the world.

    Hello damaged community,
It's awful to observe that this criminals continue this sort of scam since so many years. Me myself have been one of their victims back in 2006, same tactics and unethical methods as explained in all posts. Back on those days I made a downpayment of USD 500 via my visa credit card, once back in Korea I learned about the poor reputation of Royal Resort and decided immediately to get out. With some advise I could even recover my $ 500, there is a modality called "charge back" which I activated via visa support. I explained visa that I payed for a product/service which I never got. That was it, I never payed anything else, I got a threat letter and couple of emails which I bluntly ignored, that was it. Since then I have a couple of times in Bali, no problem at all. I hope this info can be useful to some of you. The right thing to do is to stop this criminals, they are just stealing our hard earned money, a strong campaign using modern social media should work. Perhaps one of you can deal with this modern communication methods.

We were sucked into this after sitting through 5 painstaking hours of sales pitch. My wife and I were jet lagged after a long flight the previous evening. We've now parted with $2500 of the $5000 deposit that will be debited from my CC next month. I woke up this morning with severe buyers remorse. I almost threw up. I feel so stupid for signing up!

So what are my options from here? They have my bank details, debit card and CC (MasterCard). I'm sure they cannot touch my everyday account as they only have my BSB and Account No. This leave my CC that I will cancel. I will email them, describing our situation. Hopefully they're sympathetic, but I've resigned myself to the fact that I won't see that $2500 again.

Has anyone else been able to get their money back? Considering we aren't truly members until we've paid the deposit in full...

Please let me know if you've been successful.

    Cheers
