Will make this short and sweet, I hope.
Bought a timeshre in 2006, havent been able to use it as husband works away. We were shown a resort we were told we could use as we didnt like the one we were buying into. So.... we try and use it two years later, and find out that they want us to pay $410 a  night per person ontop of the $10,000USD we have paid to stay anywhere. They dispute they showed us this resort, they dispute they didnt tell us we had to pay more once they admitted we were shown the resort. And so the saga goes on. We have been told we can have 2 free weeks there, which will come to the equivalent of the price we paid originally. Why would we want to do that, it doesnt solve the problem of having to pay more if we want a holiday there. Now we wait as we want out of this whole sorry mess. It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Husband is retiring this month and we thought we would be able to use our RCI membership without doubt as we bought into the higher levels of timeshare. Tried to find a place to go before February 2009, we have been told there is nothing on our side of the world. So we cant use the Royal Bali Club we cant use RCI. Well we can if we forever pay more, what was the point of paying into something we thought we would have for life and no more expense apart from air travel.
So people out there, beware Royal Bali Club and RCI. The directors and President must be laughing all the way to the bank.

    We just fell for the same scam as your parents. Where do they live? Are they Australians? Do you know this is an Australian company and we are now trying to get the australian securities and investment commission to take an interest in this company's activities. Luckily for us we realised this after only paying a deposit but we also were shown two royal karma properties in Bali and not the royal bali resort that we bought. Can someone "take you for a test drive in a Mercedes Benz, collect money for a mercedes Benz, and deliver you a suzuki instead?" No, of course not. This is misrepresentation.
    What did your parents do about this? We are interested to know.
    Please get in touch with us if there is anyone else out there who has been a victim of the Royal Resort group, and I am sure there are many as we have been told many untruths as well in their sales pitch.

      hi maureen, i fell for the same thing and am devasted about the whole thing.  I paid in full on the 26th april this year.  I rang the australian securities and they told me that they cant do anything unless it has something to do with australia.  U say the parent company is australian.  Can u tell me who it is so i can tell australian securities.  Have you lodged a claim with them.  I need all the help i can get.  I am willing to loose my membership i am just so scared that they come after us for the management fees when i dont pay.  I dont want to use anything they have given me.  do u know if its true about they cant do anything about not getting their management fees if we dont pay

    we just came back from Bali and fell victim to this scam..we've paid a deposit ..anyway we can cancel the contract? it says on the terms and condition the contracts cannot be cancelled...can someone out there advise?

    get in touch with the australian securities commission. they also scammed" us but with some strong letters we managed to get our money back after 2 weeks. the australian securities commission could not help us but is willingly to look into complaints lodged by australian citizens because the parent company of royal bali resort is australian.

      Hi Maureen,
      I have the same questions as Polly. We have paid deposit in mid June, and feel we have been misled.What is the name of the affiliated Australian company, I cant even find an ABN or any other reference of company details, , the paperwork we received is based in Indonesia, United Kingdom,  Spain, and British Virgin Islands. Please! Any information would be helpful. Zena

    We have also been scammed because of the gross mis-representation of the very sleek salesperson of the Royal Bali Resorts.  We have written very strong letters to them but so far they have refused to refund the money.  How did you managed to get your money back?

    Hi Interested to read your info. I rang roayal resorts (Australia) Pty Ltd who stated they are not involved with the company we paid a deposit to. Is ths incorrect? I have an address and phone number in Subiaco WA and searched ASIC site for ABN etc. When I rang they quickly gave me the pone number of legal dept of company in Bali. When I rang them they just hung up.I ahve emailed to owner relations people for an email address for the legal dept ad they just emailed back to address al issues with them. What did you do? Your assistace would be greatly appreciated. We have paid a deposit and are supposed to pay the balane in a few weeks but it is just looking more and more like a scam

    Hi can anyone get in contact with us as we had just joined also june 17 2010. We were saying this is too good to be true. I dont know why we signed up. Has anyone ever got their deposit back???
    We paid nearly $4000 AUD. Our email address is nilpest@ozemail.com.au
    Also whats this about phoning the australian securities and investment commision. We were told by our rep that we have a 3 week cooling off period, which we are within.
    Please if anyone reads these emails do not join Royal Bali Beach Club.

      Hi there , we got scammed a beauty from " Regent Holidays " we paid $6500.00 and till date have got nothing ! I paid 2years ago and only now decided to use it and they won't respond to my emails or they repeat what you sent !! Tried to book on there website through their members lounge and it doesn't let you do it either !! In Jan of next year we have to pay an upkeep fee !! I don't think so !'
      Thinking of going on current affair to warn other fellow Australian as it appears thAt it is still happening !!

    it is a scam. they are here in goa, india under the name of karma group and also royal group.

    wasting the whole day  of tourist out there and employing the locals for it to get the gullible people

      Yes we have too wasted our whole day caz of these peoples in Goa. But thank god we didn't take the membership of the group. They pretend that the group is transparent and there is no * mark, but i don't think so. They have created sample room just like sample flat for the display purpose. When I asked them show me some other room they told me that all are occupied. When I was roaming around the resort they told us that its a 4 star resort and rest all are 5 Star and I found there were no amenities like 4 Star resort. Sofa set kept at the trustees office was in a dangerous state. Food in the restaurant of the resort was tasteless. One of my friend has taken the membership and she told me that every year these people increase the maintenance charges. So finally we took the decision to not to take the membership.
