Will make this short and sweet, I hope.
Bought a timeshre in 2006, havent been able to use it as husband works away. We were shown a resort we were told we could use as we didnt like the one we were buying into. So.... we try and use it two years later, and find out that they want us to pay $410 a  night per person ontop of the $10,000USD we have paid to stay anywhere. They dispute they showed us this resort, they dispute they didnt tell us we had to pay more once they admitted we were shown the resort. And so the saga goes on. We have been told we can have 2 free weeks there, which will come to the equivalent of the price we paid originally. Why would we want to do that, it doesnt solve the problem of having to pay more if we want a holiday there. Now we wait as we want out of this whole sorry mess. It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Husband is retiring this month and we thought we would be able to use our RCI membership without doubt as we bought into the higher levels of timeshare. Tried to find a place to go before February 2009, we have been told there is nothing on our side of the world. So we cant use the Royal Bali Club we cant use RCI. Well we can if we forever pay more, what was the point of paying into something we thought we would have for life and no more expense apart from air travel.
So people out there, beware Royal Bali Club and RCI. The directors and President must be laughing all the way to the bank.

My parents are also the victim for Royal Bali Resort. They were told that they own 2 bedroom Karma Resort and paid almost USD 15.000,-. In a month they book the room and they say that the free week is only valid for their Royal Resort ( which is much lower grade ) and they have to pay blah blah blah in order to stay at the Karma. I really think it must be a scam.

I yhink you've never thought that the member fee can be reduced.  since we told them that too expensive and no any allocation the amount for the holiday, they reduce it quite much... and you know how much ??
      starting from US$ 16,000 , they finally give us only US$ 6,000,

THey asked us to write how much we want to join, we ask for $ 4,000, and they told $ 6,000

peeeuuuyyyyy......!!!! can you imagine how many people out there pay for $ 15,000  ???

We just fell for the same scam as your parents. Where do they live? Are they Australians? Do you know this is an Australian company and we are now trying to get the australian securities and investment commission to take an interest in this company's activities. Luckily for us we realised this after only paying a deposit but we also were shown two royal karma properties in Bali and not the royal bali resort that we bought. Can someone "take you for a test drive in a Mercedes Benz, collect money for a mercedes Benz, and deliver you a suzuki instead?" No, of course not. This is misrepresentation.
What did your parents do about this? We are interested to know.
Please get in touch with us if there is anyone else out there who has been a victim of the Royal Resort group, and I am sure there are many as we have been told many untruths as well in their sales pitch.

John Spence Perth based entrepreneur is the name you are looking for. He allegedly won the Earnst Young award for world entrepreneur of the year. You may have seen congratulations letters framed from Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard & they claim Kim Hughes is some type of ambassador. http://www.ey.com/AU/en/Newsroom/News-release ... eur-Of-The-Year

My partner and I did the same thing also a couple of days ago. We feel sick in the stomach. can you please keep us updated with your progress?

The only link we could find to Australia is the paperwork for financing which states a business under Ezidebit Pty Ltd ACN 096902813.

Apparently they can't get at you in Aust as it was an Indonesian contract. I will be seeing a lawyer. Legal Aid have a hotline, takes ages  to get through but they will give you advice (but not act for you). They can act on any Indonesian property you may have,so I have been told. Don't know what  would happen if we went back.

Hi Maureen, just reaching out for advice. My wife and i are australians and reading the reviews on the scam, they're chasing us for management fees now and haven't experienced anything that was mentioned or pressured on us over 8hours. Signing was the only way out of that hell hole. I'd go back just to give them a hiding. How can they prey on hard working people, my wife studies and we only have income. We had to get a loan to pay it off and now they chasing us for more money, do you have an email address we can communicate on?

Hi Maureen. I'm wodering how things have turned out in regards to Royal Resorts. Their name has now changed again. We have time share in Goa and we accosted about 20 years ago and paid $8,000. We own it but find it hard to use. We keep paying the maintenance fees which are now between $800 and $950 per year depending on the AuUS/USA dollar exchange. Not at all worth it now that there are such good deals all over the internet. We just can't get out of this thing and can't believe the lack of rights for owners. Do you have any suggestions?

        Hi Di,
We are in the same boat however our management fees are about 2,700 AUD after USD conversion.
We tried for 6 years to get the accommodation they promised us and ended up threatening legal action before they amazingly managed to get us a booking in the hotel they showed us on the day of the hard sell!
We have another 19 years membership in Bali and our fees just keep going up!
I can't seem to see anywhere that there is an option out...
