Could be expensive, unless you only call 800 series numbers. What's a few minutes of cell time for the peace of mind of knowing you tried. If everybody used 5 minutes of their cell time to do this, something's got to give. Also how about calling the DA in Denver or the Atty General in Colorado and complaining about this Mike guy in Denver this seems to go back to? And see what kind of info you can wean out of the caller by showing interest and asking questions. Or claim you're one of them (in YOUR city) and get them to remove your number. Or start pitching your own (phony) product/service. Type the area code or full phone number in your search bar and then complain to the Atty. General in the state it comes up as being in. Think up your own ides to get something done. I just copied and pasted all the phone numbers and addresses from this forum into notepad to add to my arsenal.

next time they call me (they just did again) i'll do my best to squeeze an address where i can "mail my payment" and post it here. then we can all sign them up for as many magazine subscriptions as we can collectively fill out. i wonder how they'd feel if their business address started to receive hundreds and hundreds of magazines, coupons and catalogs. it's quite possible we could spam mail one of their call centers into submission. i already do this with the unsolicited credit card offers i get in the mail, i fill the prepaid return envelopes with the coupons i get with my junk mail and send them back to the credit card companies. if they need my money so bad maybe they could save a lil using some coupons, right?
If you understand how their telephone system works, perhaps it will give you less frustration. A company can program any name into the "caller id" section of the record they transmit to your phone. They can even change the telephone number to any number, whether they own it or not, whether it is a valid number or not. Spending the time or energy to call back or do reverse look-ups is fruitless. They have obviously transmitted this "Mike Anderson" telephone number and if he is legitimate, I feel sorry for him. Can you imagine getting irate calls to your number all the time because some scammer is transmitting your number? They don't want you to call back. Just keep reporting the number to the national do not call list. Don't know that they are doing anything about it, but it is better than nothing. Another thing to do is to punch the button to talk to them, then put the phone down and let them burn some minutes until they hang up.

They called me, but first was a official sounding recording saying that they have sent me several notices about my account. after listening more, it talked about credit consolidation. I have over 800 score so i knew it was B.S. i pushed #1 to talk to a Representative. i was nice because i waned to know what kind of scam this was. i asked where are you calling from, she said card member services, i asked is that the name or department. then i asked where are you located, she said Florida, and would not tell me the city right away. i finally got Orlando from her. then i asked to speak with her boss she said no, i asked why, she said i don't have any reason too, and hung up.

I have made a game of playing with these people. I act like an old, slightly senile person. Make them keep repeating questions. When they want my credit card number I tell e\them "It's in my britches and I have to go get it". And I set the phone aside and go on with my life. Eventually they hang up.

Hello, Old Phone Guy, Wonder if you could confirm a phone service question answered by Century Link? When phone service is ended for one customer, it is said that on average about nine months are allowed to elapse before being re-assigned. One will hear the message; "The number you have reached has been disconnected or no longer in service". Is that accurate? Now it would seem to me, those even using an auto-dialer, such as a "collection agency" would have some way to know that # will be eventually be re-assigned, and remove it from their system. I think there's a rule about that in TCPA. Even the [bill collections]doing the "Hi, I'm Rachel from cardmember services", seems they would remove those # from their system, cause it's eventually going to bite them in the ass. Or at least one would hope. It just doesn't make any sense!

I am receiving these calls EVERYDAY at my home and have been for months now!! Somehow they have now obtained my cell no. They are RUDE...the men say terrible things and the women laugh and hang up if you can even fathom to hold on. I have asked them and asked them to remove my no. and it only makes matters worse!! Who can I report them to?? I will be glad to report them to anyone that can help!!

I had 4 calls in 3 weeks. When I asked who they represented they said MC and Visa? Wouldn't tell me a bank name. When I asked to talk to a Supervisor all 4 times they hung up?

i am so tired of phone calls from card member services. they want to lower my interest rates.
their name does not show up on caller id and the phone number is 317-000-000. i repeatedly tell them to remove my number from their calling list. and then in a couple of weeks - i get another call.
i get so tired of being bothered by junk calls.
