Somebody,(Margarite) phone number 901-248-7430, called me up and directed me to press number 1 to reach the company for credit card rate reduction. Upon doing so they requested if I had over $5,000.00 in debt and they wanted my credit card number to verify the debt. I requested their first and last name. The female speaking stated her name was Margarite but would not provide her last name. I attempt to find an address for the compant she refused to tell me then directed me to her supervisor "Ronald James". He again advised me he would lower my debt and requested my credit card number. I again requested as to the address of his company he stated Tallahasse Florida, but wouldn't not provide me with a street address. When I advised him I would look him up on the federal system because I felt he was trying to perpetrate a scam he stated "don't call this a scam and I'm going to hang up". I looked up the company "Account Services" on the internet and it advised of scam warnings. I said the internet site indicates you company is involed in scams. He stated "this is not a scam", I replied it sure appears that way; he stated "shutup" and hung up the phone.

BEWARE.  I just received a call earlier today from a man with "Account Services" at (786) 219-0225 (my phone indicated the call was from Miami, Florida).  After hearing a brief recording saying something like "This is your credit card company, there is no security issue with your card, this is about an offer to lower your interest rate.  If you'd like to speak to a representative, please wait to be transferred".   I was intrigued so stayed on the line.     A brief pause occurred and then said your wait time is less than 15 seconds and you are the first caller in queue."   NOTE:  No company name was indicated on the recording so while I was briefly waiting, it "dawned" on me that this could be a sketchy call... so that was red flag # 1 for me, but nonetheless I stayed on.   After a very brief hold of literally seconds,  a rather friendly guy introduced himself and his company stating that Account Services works with major credit card services, naming Chase, Capital One, Bank of America, and a few others, in 51 states.   Per the guy, "according to their records", I had been selected due to my "excellent payment history" and it appears that I would be "eligible for lower interest rates".   He then asked if I was interested in lowering my credit card interest rates to 6.9%.   "I'm interested", I said, but red flag # 2 went up, since now it was confirmed that it was NOT one of my credit card companies, but some outside service, claiming to work with the major creditors.  The guy seemed really personable, but I am always skeptical and on alert these days so I let him continue.   The guy proceeded to inquire with me about my current interest rates - lowest to highest.  I gave him the wide range.   He then asked who my highest rate is with - I disclosed the credit card company name and he acknowledged his familiarity with the company.   I figured there's no harm in mentioning a widely known bank name.   He then asked me for the Expiration Date on that particular credit card - that's was the final red flag for me.  I should have just hung up at that moment but instead I figured I'd play a long a little - I advised him that I was unsure since I do not carry my credit cards with me.  He then asked "oh, you're not at home"  and I said no (a lie), so he asked if Monday evening would be a better time for him to call me to discuss this more when I'm at home and have my credit card information available.  Fortunately, while I had him talking on speaker, I happened to be in front of my laptop and quickly googled "Account Services"  & this site came up under Scams.  I was only on the phone for literally 3 minutes according to my call log, so I didn't have a chance to read the actual posts confirming my suspicions.   I told him I'd like to research his company before I give him any more information.  Without a word, he immediately hung up on me - good riddance!   Point of the story - always be on guard - be observant and listen for queues - if something doesn't sound or read right, then its usually not legit, so don't give out personal information without validating / researching the caller and company first.

Good for you for being so smart! Unfortunately I fell for it and now am out $1295 that I cannot get back. This makes me so angry because the reason why I fell for it was because I have a lot of credit card debt and was hoping I could get some help. Now I have even more debt!

I got robo call from VLP JME, they told my account balances and all, I am not sure how do they managed to get that information, but told they will reduce my interest rates and I gave them my CVV and they charged me 795$ and after then they gave me an appointment after 2 weeks and by then I know that its a fraud company, I was calling them from 3 weeks and they say my money will be refunded and I dont get it. Same person will lift the call and talk with different voices. He even abused me thinking that I dont understand the foreign language he speaks, he said thanks for calling VLPJME "bainchod" --> which means fuk my sister. I really have hard time getting my money back, I disputed the transaction and was talking to him, while i was talking to him I recorded few conversations with him and kept them for future use.
I emailed to mark@jmelawyer.com and told him everyting next day I got call from the same person and said my money got refunded, I mentioned in the email about the recording i had with him, they said it would take 5-7 days to get my refund but lets see if I get my money back or not. Guys dont fall to these bast**rds.

Sadly law enforcement generally spend relatively little time on these frauds, which is why they are proliferating.  l
