Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

    Our message was from Shaun Anderson (also with an Indian accent)  from number 347-321-8018 NY,NY.  What would we do without the internet to find out about the scam-bags.  Thank for putting my mind at ease!

    Received a telephone call and I called the number 757-952-0787 INewport News, VA.  IRS Legal Affair Dept (first caller identified as David Jones, Badge 117086 and his supervisor Anthony Cooper, Badge 117140 talked about my 2012 taxes.  I said I was not notified of owing any funds for 2012.  Said my phone was being tracked and as soon as we hung up an arrest warrant would be issued.  Said I owed 3645.00 to pay or a lien would be placed on my house and bank accounts frozen. In 2014 I was a victim of identify theft and asked when I spoke with the IRS why didn't they ask about the "owed money for 2012."  He said that was a different department.  Was instructed to go to a Food Lion store (only Food Lion) and to pay a taxpayer voucher.  But I had to call so they could track my progress.  I hung up and blocked those calls on my caller ID.

    My call was from "Annie Johnson" and the caller could hardly speak English.  It was for my daughter who has not lived here for over 22 years, and she asked for her by name.  The number was 347-826-1160.  Message was that if my daughter did not get in touch right away serious legal charges would be brought against her, she should at least have her attorney contact her (Annie Johnson with the Indian accent) at the Department of Legal Affairs.  I Googled Department of Legal Affairs and saw the "scam" which I thought it was anyway.  I did not return the call.  How can this nonsense be stopped and who should be contact?

    Received a  call from Nick Anderson 347-781-5935 from Department of Legal Affairs said legal action started in my name and needed to call immediatley.  Called back and sounded Indian.  I hung up.

    Got a call from the Dept of Legal Affairs from an unidentified agency...they wanted "legal information" about a family member who the caller mistook for me.  The caller had a heavy accent, probably Indian, and called from 347-781-5935.  Reverse phone lookup blocks this number.  When I told him the family member is unavailable today he hung up. We are getting many calls from similar 347 area codes and have decided they are all scams.

    Just got that same Indian accent man. Eric Foster New York call. 347-474-0010 . He says he is from dept of legal affairs.

    Got one from Austin Hall - 347-305-1237.  One message and one missed call.  Looking on this and other sites, can't believe this scam is still going almost verbatim for years now.  Just the accent alone was enough to get me to check online to see if it was a scam.  I kind of like the suggestion earlier in this string to inundate them back with calls.

    Just got the same call this morning (11 Sept) and I could hear the call center noise in the background.  I called back and asked what department Kevin was with "United States, Department of Legal Affairs".  When I said, Oh really..  He gave me the FU and hung up.  I am just fearful for all the others that get suckered by this!!!  The number is 347-464-9912.  I would love to robo call them back or something, but that would probably be against the law.  :-P

    Received a call from Kevin Green same B.S. of above. The CID came up  as New York 347-826-1160. Called back got answered by Kevin Green, asked him what the call was about. but got disconnect tone.

    I received a phone message for my daughter about owing over $4,000 in back taxes to the IRS. The man on the phone had a very heave accent.   I called the number(347-352-8557) and pretended to be my daughter and asked quite a few questions and he hung up.  I recalled the number and got the same story.  She hasn't lived at this address for 15 years!  I know she has paid her taxes every year because we are a corporation and I pay all the taxes!

    Got a call from Shawn from Dept. of Legal Affairs at 347-836-4909 telling me to contact him or have my lawyer contact him....

    Had a call today from a Ca number 916-476-2434 It was a recorded message saying they were from Legal affairs, if I did not call or have my attorney call there would be an attorney General and law enforcement at my dooor.  When my step mom called the number it was a man with an indian accent just saying hello. hello.  These people need to stop!!

    We got the same message and a letter from IRS that we owe (940.00 back taxes from 2013).  IRS doesn't work like this.  They always make corrections and send you the corrected amount if we have a refund coming.

    Received a call for my husband , same type of message as above. I will not be returning the call. Name on this call was Janice Lincoln, very thick accent. its a t-mobile number in NY

    Got same message. Mine is from Lisa DAVIS @ 347-539-4269.  Probably 6th call from these people in the last month. Different phone numbers.

      Just today, we received a similar voice mail, supposedly for our daughter. Lisa Davis is now Lisa Jones (or perhaps it's her alter-ego!) from the Department of Legal Affairs: 347 474-3215, also with a heavy Indian accent and a lot of background noise. These folks need to get a life (or a jail sentence??) and stop harassing law-abiding citizens! Yikes!
