Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

    I have a message from an el paso texas number 915-317-4924 for my son WHO IS 11 YEARS OLD!  It was the same thick foreign accents, his name was Patrick.  He said my son was being sued and he was being called from the us dept of legal affairs.  he also said if he cannot call back he strongly suggested his attorney call back as soon as possible to avoid criminal action.  what a joke...not even smart enough to check the age of the person.

          I got a message on my machine from a James Howard from Dept. of Legal Affairs today also threatening with an Indian accent.  The number is 202 241-8216.

    I have received several messages from an individual man with very have accent, saying there is a Department of Legal Affairs to have my lawyer contact them.  Here are the two numbers 916-469-7012 or 218-429-4037. Has anyone else received phone calls from this number.

      i just received a phone call from them yesterday saying the same thing. the name showed up unknown and they gave me the second phone number to contact them

    I started receiving these calls this week, and have let them go to voicemail as caller ID shows caller "Unknown".  This week I will answer "Special Agent my name" and inform them I am a Federal Agent and would like to stop into their office to clear up the matter.  It will be interesting to see where this goes, but we, as Americans, better get used to it.  The illegal aliens have all the rights and protections and the U.S. Defense budget has been slashed so much our military is at pre WWI levels.  All departments in the government are getting slashed, including the FCC, they don't have the resources to go after these thieves, and thanks to the weakest administration in history, it's only going to get worse.  I worked with the DOD, and things are just pathetic, we hard working, tax paying Americans have to put up with this B.S., there is NO ONE to stop these phone calls!!

      I agree with much of your assessment, but it's funny how people can turn just about anything into Obama-hate; an illegal alien issue; and whatever other political beef they have to b*tch about.  It's a fact that calls like this have been happening for years, through presidential administrations from both parties. And how that is affected by "illegal aliens" is dubious at best. I'm more worried about the Nigerian aliens who are perpetuating these calls.

      Are you kidding? A lot of aliens have received these calls. And they are somehow using the correct legal names of the aliens.

    One more thing I forgot to add, phone blocks are O.K., until these miscreants use another number, they seem to have access to s lsrge database of numbers, so when one gets blocked, they just call from another number.

    The Indian that called me claimed to be Jack Miller...never meet an Indian with such an American name LOL. Gave me the same message as most they are from the department of legal affairs and I had charges against me. The number they gave me was 213-928-2652.

    I had a call on my answerphone saying to call Robert James id #11538, (213-221-84272  funny how strong his accent was! He demanded to know my attorney's name and number and said I owed money to the IRS from 2007 taxes. He DID have my address, and asked if I had received the papers in the mail, but when I asked for the amount or to have them send again he said they would send an officer to my place of work to serve me.  I called back again and asked him to confirm my workplace, and he was unwilling to give me any information and told me not to ask any more questions, I asked to speak with someone else to get more information and he hung up.  God I hate these scumbags!!!

    Just received a call from 2132218472 with the same theme. Said they were the dept of legal affairs and to call back, which I did and got a message from a guy with a heavy accent. 5 min later phone rang and it was them again just told them they where a scam and hung up..
