Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

    Indian often swindlers run these cons.
    The "government agency" names they make up are pretty ridiculous.

      My husband and I also have received calls here in California with the number 202 6574492 - heavy accent,  Do these folks think we are all idiots?  Apparently they are not aware that any action from the Federal Government does not call.  They only contact by mail.  Maybe the cost of postage it so much for them.

      Just got the same call. I called the FBI and they suggested I report them to the IRS at www.tigta.gov then click on "IRS impersonator"

    Irene called to tell me she was  from the US Treasury  that I had some legal enforcement actions that had begun regarding taxes. She was not authorized to tell me more but I was to call back and speak to David Williams at the US treasury. She could not tell me which unit she was with and had me repeat the phone number back to her. She hung up when I continued to firmly, but politely ask about where she was located. She had a thick accent, which when I have googled this 559-328-2353 people have reported as Indian. However, I had an encounter with a puppy scam artist from Cameroon whose contact number began with 559. They have thick accents too

    Received a call that legal action is being brought against me.  When I called her out on the scam she hung up and called back 3 more times.  The number is 469-567-9492

      Received 2 similar calls from this number from someone named Steve Martin, could barely speak English claiming to call from the dept of the us treasury! Haha from India no doubt

        Got the same call from Steve Martin but woman's voice who can barely speak english.  I called the number she left and it was brian king voice mail message.  the message the woman left Said the same thing - legal actions brought against me and to hire an attorney.  Whats happening to this country!!!

          When our own darling gov't gave all our jobs to these freaking foreigners, allowed our tele#'s , addresses etc. available to them. It all makes me sick

    Same number and type of scam as Nichole's (469-567-9492).  My wife just got the call.  "US Department of Legal Affairs, Treasury."  Robert Jackson with a thick Indian accent.

    I've received multiple phone calls from 213-603-9086 from 'Michael Tucker' and 'David Williams' saying they are an officer of the Department of US Treasury or Employee of the Department of Legal Affairs with the Dept of US Treasury.  Each time I've let the calls go to my voice mail and they are saying the call is about legal action brought against me and even saying because I will not answer their calls they will be contacting my work and will find me at home.  IT'S A SCAM!  My husband has tried to call the number but no-one will pick up.  VERY strong 'India' accents, hard to understand but they are clear on their threats.  I'm blocking the number now.

      I have been getting the same harrassing calls, the number is 213-261-0712, it's a lady with an Indian accident. I call the number and they hang up. I know it's a scam, but am tired of it.

      Here's there new number they must be using now to call 202-517-2993.  I got the same voice mails (Department of Treasury) and also I called them back and then they said they were an officer with internal affairs and I had a warrant out for my arrest if I would not provide them with the information they wanted.  They hung-up on me when I said this was a SCAM.  I've reported this number as a SCAM.

    I received two calls from the following numbers:  319 505- 9812 and 469 567-9492 "Jason" claimed to be from the "Dept. of Legal Affairs with the US Treasury".  He had a thick east Indian accent.  He became irritated when I asked him why I wasn't being notified by mail.  At this point I hung up.  I called the 469 number back to see if he would answer.  He did.  I hung up.

      I got a call today from the EXACT same number. The only difference is that after I called the real DOT and IRS, I called him back several times until he answered and confronted him until he finally stopped and said, "you're right. This is a scam and I am a scammer. If you don't stop calling I'm going to freeze your accounts. You have no idea what I'm capable of." I insisted that he wasn't going to do anything because if he actually had any of my information he wouldn't need to call me and try and steal my information. He insisted he was going to mess with my accounts and threatened me and then hung up. I called the FBI and the FTC and reported it.

    I also just received a disturbing message from their phone #760-592-6191 threatening legal action against my husband.  They also had heavy Indian accents (I Could barely understand the message).  Luckily I came home and looked up "Department of Legal Affairs" and found all these insightful comments from others experiencing the same thing.  I called back their # 4 times.  The first 3 straight to voice mail, but got a live person the 4th time.  He immediately asked for my name & ph # which I would not provide.  I asked him his name and after a few seconds he answered Danny "Rich".  I guess that's what he's hoping to be if some poor sucker gives him their personal information.  While he repeatedly asked my name and phone number I repeatedly asked for his number.  After about 10 times he got tired of playing and answered that his # was 800-SUCK MY D!@&.
    FRAUD CONFIRMED!!!  DON'T GIVE ANY FINANCIAL OR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THESE LOW LIFES!!!!!!!!
