Complaint

Country: United States
These Jack**** people have called me 4 times today. When I finally decided to answer to see what's what, they have a dude on the line that I can barely understand saying I'm qualified for a free Gas card worth $200. They tell me I will be charged nothing untilI receive the card, then the "supervisor" gets on the line to confirm my mailing info, and wants my creditcard ###. What??? Do they think I was born yesterday, SCAM ALERT!!! Beware I have also noitified the Phoenix Arizona Attourney General, who promised to look into this BS.

I wouldn't give them a credit card number and had trouble explaining to them that I didn't want or need the $200. This call coming from New Jersey, was by a male with a forign accent. SCAM, I had trouble explaing I was not giving a credit card number and didn't want the money. I finally hung up!
I thought they would actually send a marketing package (as some travel companies used to do this and there are class action suit filings I've received money from.) However, when he immediately (John Regan) wanted my banking info I told him all Americans are being told not to give out this information because of scams. I also told him I worked for the AG office and would be passing this information to my boss. He needed to explain how he got my private line number?? I told him no smart American is going to give out their information and HIS boss should have told him that. Americans are attempted at being scammed every day and we are just saying no.
He continued to try and talk so I interrupted him and said this is a scam you are either in it up to your neck or you are being told to do something illegal.... you choose and I hung up.
I feel better today because if this man was hired for legitimate purposes perhaps if enough of us on the receiving end not only have a standard (no banking info up front) then also letting him know his country is being ravaged with "jobs" that are illegal. I don't doubt for one minute.
Also, he was calling from India calling center but claimed only 2 people such as myself were picked. $200 gas card and the recording said $20 Target card but when he got on the line he said $20 Walmart card.
I can't imagine much money is being made other than from older people or those that don't look up scams and are desperate.
I wish our country did more to inform and enforce these crimes.
They told me.. they were from "Our Mobile Support"
Wanted $2.00 shipping fee for free gas, prize vouchers, and all types of stuff. Told me, that they only called 20 people from my area for this 'prize.'
Gosh..Im glad I have Google and the net. Gave me a name, and ID number and all..and tried their best to get me to answer why I woudlnt give them any information.
My wife (as wonderful as she is) fell for this just a week ago, Our bank card was charged 2.95 for 2 different sources (smartshopper & trvlent savings) and 3.95 from AAD Auto Discount. Now I am beside myself with feat that they can 1. clean out our account 2. steal out identity 3. pass out our info to other scammers/telemarketers.
Does anyone have any advise??
card would be great. I gave them all the info they wanted (stupid me.)
At the end of the conversation I told them no and I thought that was
the end of it. This was in Oct. 2010. The end of Oct. I started getting
billed 59.90 on my cc and every month up until I finally figured out
what was going on. I called them 3 times,to cancel, wrote 3 letters and never
heard a word from them. I never received any corespondance or packages
which they said they would send. Long story short, I wrote a letter to
our state attorney general and they got on it. But they wrote 3 letters
and didn't hear anything until I got a letter from the Attorney General's
office this week saying they finally got a response and sent me a copy of the letter.
It was so full of lies...!!!!!! I called the Attorney General's office and left a
message. Guess what.....our state has a government shut down right now
so they won't get back to me until they open again.
Yes, AAB is truly a scam and let all the people know!!
signed..."studpid me"
for you it might be a scam but they didn't charged more than $2.95 c i was suprized but remember the very first day i recieved it i gave a call and cancelled the other charges..
I was saved and used that card twice .. I still have $15 remaining.. :-) go for it but cancel once u recieve it..
