I purchased this pressure washer at Home Depot 7/22/08 for $299.00, used it once for less than 2 hours, stored it EXACTLY the way the owners manual instructed, and pulled it out on 5/4/11 to wash the side of my house. I hooked it up,added gas, turned on the water...Honda engine fired right up but the side of the pump is spraying water out of the fittings. No pressyre at all.If this is the kind of junk Home Depot is selling, I won't deal with them anymore.Use it one time and THEN spend $100.00 to $200.00 on a new pump,(I checked) or take it in for repair,($35.00 just to look at it)I realize it's out of warranty, but come on,LESS than two hours. I'd like to hope Home Depot would be willing to do something about this since there are obviously issues with this item

I am in the same boat. I think it is the bypass (unload) valve that is mounted in the pump, not the whole pump/impeller but I cant seem to find that valve broken out as a seperate part in any of the exploded view drawings I have seen, from any manufacturor.  They dont seem to sell that seperately.  Maybe for safety reasons.

    Not happy.

I have the EXACT same problem with my Husky HU80722.   Engine works fine, the water pump does not pump water.  Used it all of one time.  Now it's worthless.

    Avoid Husky and Home Depot.

Same issue...engine runs fine with out water hooked up, but as soon as there's water pressure things go "tango uniform."  Pump will spray for about 2 minutes then the engine dies....slowly.  Try to pull the starting cord and the engine is locked up.  Put the spark plug looking fopr a liquid lock but nothing there.  Drop the pump from the engine and it pulls easy.  Bottom line the pump locks up as soon as the trigger is NOT pulled on the spray nozel.  Believe this is the by-pass valve or pressure relief valvue.  Anyone else in the same situation?  Any fixes out there?

10 minutes of googling, and sounds like I'm in the same boat with lots of people.  Used this Husky HU80722 3-4 times, and the pump seizes up and won't work anymore.  Honda engine runs great, and was the #1 reason I bought the Husky.  Honda should put some leverage on Husky to do something about this obvious problem....making other products sporting Honda engines look suspect now.

WOW...I thought I had an isolated problem but sounds like a design-flaw.  My HU80722 also will not pressure up.  I treated this unit like a baby always ensuring the air was purged prior to firing up the engine.  I am in the hydroblasting business (20K+ psi) and may ask our engineers to look at the faulty parts.  It would sure make a lot of folks happy if I began a pump rebuilding business!  In the meantime, though, NO MORE Husky products for me or anyone I will speak to...and NO MORE major purchases from Home Depot...they'll have to settle for selling me paint, nuts, and bolts!  I'll buy my screws elsewhere...got screwed enough at HD.

Same problem. Honda engine starts on the  first pull but no pressure. This is reason enough for me to notify Honda and I intend to let Home Depot know that unless they are able to help out with this problem, I'll be a Lowe's customer in the future. After having read these postings, I'm reluctant to spend money on this piece of junk if it will only happen again in the future.

Below you will find the note I just sent to Home Depot. I would suggest all of you do the same.

Just a brief note to inform you of my dissatisfaction with a Husky Power Washer Model HU80722 I purchased at your Rockland MA store. There are many complaints about this same model on line. I have used this washer only two times. Store it inside after flushing it according to manufacturer's instructions and now the pump will not build pressure. I understand that Home Depot did not manufacture the washer but I would expect Home Depot to stand behind their customers and investigate the complaints about a product that has a very poor track record. It's like throwing money out the window and that makes for a very dissatisfied customer. Please don't bother to respond to me unless first you take action to get to the bottom of this problem with the manufacturer of the power washer. I would consider your response without action nothing more than patronizing.

Count me in. Same Husky Power Washer, same problem. I wonder how many were sold by Home Depot and what kind of profit they made. I feel that this product should be recalled.I thought maybe Consumer Reports could have a look at this. Forget that. I checked and it seems that they are only interested if it is a safety issue. It seemed that we are all screwed. We can only hope that Home Depot and Honda will not want their names attached to such a poor product and perhaps they will pressure (excuse the pun)Husky to make good on these power washers.

Not very good news for me either.  Bought mine in May 2008 and have used it 4 times.  Pump will not work so I just started looking on the internet for a new pump or some solution.  Reading this chain of postings causes me great concern.  I plan to contact a local business who repairs pumps as my next step, but will also stop back at our local Home Depot store.  I plan to print this entire list of complaints for them to read.

SAME ISSUE!!! Only this is with my HU80931with a Brigs/strat engine. Used the washer a handful of times now the engine cranks right up but wont provide any pressure to the wand for more than a few seconds. Dollars to donuts this uses the same crap pump as the 80722. What a joke, Husky should be ashamed and goodbye Home Depot!!! Lowes all ther way for me. You don't get one red cent again from me.
