I purchased this pressure washer at Home Depot 7/22/08 for $299.00, used it once for less than 2 hours, stored it EXACTLY the way the owners manual instructed, and pulled it out on 5/4/11 to wash the side of my house. I hooked it up,added gas, turned on the water...Honda engine fired right up but the side of the pump is spraying water out of the fittings. No pressyre at all.If this is the kind of junk Home Depot is selling, I won't deal with them anymore.Use it one time and THEN spend $100.00 to $200.00 on a new pump,(I checked) or take it in for repair,($35.00 just to look at it)I realize it's out of warranty, but come on,LESS than two hours. I'd like to hope Home Depot would be willing to do something about this since there are obviously issues with this item

The same issue...engine runs fine with out water hooked up, but as soon as there's water pressure things go "tango uniform."  Pump will spray for about 2 minutes then the engine dies....slowly.  Try to pull the starting cord and the engine is locked up.  Put the spark plug looking fopr a liquid lock but nothing there.  Drop the pump from the engine and it pulls easy.  Bottom line the pump locks up as soon as the trigger is NOT pulled on the spray nozel.  Believe this is the by-pass valve or pressure relief valvue.  Anyone else in the same situation?  Any fixes out there? please let me know , just contact by email or call at 954-2940227 Peter. REFUSE TO GET RIPPED OFF.

Looks like I'm in the same boat as the rest of you.  The Honda engine is great but the pump is worthless.

We purchased this product a few months back, and used it only 3 times on driveways. When we tried to use it the 4th time, it did not work. We took it back to Home Depot and had to pay $35 to start the repair process. It was repaired and returned yesterday. The company doing the repair said there was oil in the engine and we must have "turned it upside down or somthing like that" to have caused the problem. Really? Who in their right mind would do that?  Anyway, it was not covered under the warranty, so we had to pay for the repairs.  I immediately went to the internet and found all of the complants/reviews above. We are all in the same boat here. I called Home Depot and talked to the store manager about our situation and also told him about all of the complaints on this website.  I told him there are many people that are complaining about the product and also naming Home Depot, because they are the retailer. He was understanding and said he wanted to keep our business. My husband took it back last night and Home Depot gave us a store credit for the purchase price and the cost paid for the repairs. We certainly cannot say this would be the outcome for everyone; however, we felt the same frustration and want to let you know there is possibly a resolution. Since it must be a design flaw, if the retailer will send them back, the manufacturer will have to accept the responsibility to correct this problem rather than walk away with our money while we are left with a defective product. One would think  Husky/Honda would have more pride in their name than to let this continue. I do appreciate Home Depot's response. Although it is not a refund, we will be happy to spend the credit there, as long we are treated this way, and with respect. Hope this helps.

Hello Ken, I just wanted to let you know what happened to us when we took our power washer back.  At first we did not have any luck either.  We were told about the store policy and had to send to get it repaired, etc. My husband picked it up yesterday and was told it was our fault that it stopped working so he had to pay for the repairs. When he brought it home I got angry and decided to go online and see if anyone else had problems with this equipment. I found all of these complaints.  I could not dial the phone fast enough to speak with Home Depot. Customer Service put me on the phone with a manager. I explained our situation to him and then told him about all of the complaints online. The manager said bring it back and he would make it right. My husband brought it back to the store and we now have a $400 + store credit.  It is not a refund, but it is not money out the window either. It is too bad the manufacturer has to make a poor product then turn there back on their customers when it breaks down; however, maybe if you print out these complaints and take them in to the store manager, he or she will help you also. I hope so.

I have the same issue, bought my husky in fall 2009 used it about 10 times, needed it for a house wash job and then crapped out.  No pressure, and the plastic pieces inside the pump are cracked.  Hate to throw money into another pump when it may be cheaper to buy a new washer...
